Have had this for a few hours. Initial impressions are good. Screen is nice. I like the aspect ratio and you can definitely see more on screen. I wouldn't say it feels like a phone that costs £350 but maybe less. The battery life is better than expected. It's no battery champ that is for sure but with low to moderate use, it should get you through the day. Performance so far is fairly good. Again, nothing amazing but satisfactory.

I Preordered this one the 10 is just too weak. The 636 processor is much better than the 630 plus u get 4 gigs vs the 3 gigs on the 10. The zoom on the camera is much nicer. I paid 461 including tax and shipping that includes overnight shipping. that was only 5.99 extra. I suppose the real challenge will be to find a case.
This phone is 400 bucks . You think your going to get a 660. Who else that's not Blu is going to give you a 6.5 inch IP 67 with dual cameras and LDAC . As for the rest whatever. Go get last year's model that will never get an update ever like LG. Sony is very good with updates
Mark Schwacofer anything with oreo has LDAC. My 8 year old device has LDAC. You'd be better off with the XZPREMIUM. Larger battery, better display, stereo speakers, better camera and the fingerprint reader is the power button
I don't understand why they separated the power button and the fingerprint scanner; it works well enough in the XZ line. A change for change's sake isn't worth squat if it makes something worse.
There came a time when I had to choose between the Sony Smart Watch 2 (SW2) or the Sony Bluetooth Headset 52 (SBH52)... I chose the SBH52 because it was compact, way cheaper, very functional,and inconspicuous. SBH52 has voice notification. The SW2 is much of a distraction to me personally, don't like the idea of having to raise my wrist every time a notification comes in.
Chris your thoughts on this 21:9 ratio compared to others. Now that this horrible notch phase seems to be ending, is the punch hole the only way to go without the slider or cheesy pop up camera options.

I love this 21:9 Idea. When Google and developers optimises Apps to suit it, it's going to be awesome. But this phone though is really a let down, The battery is going to suck for sure and the performance from that chipset will be disappointing for 2019 standards. Typical Sony, I guess.
but sony performance optimization is good, so i think it can compromise that snap 636 processor, also snapdragon 636 performance is not bad compared to snapdragon 660

I tried it out in the Sonystyle Store in Berlin, and the phone does not have dual speakers. The sound comes out of the right speaker only 😒 I was planning to buy it, but the XZ3 was just 70 Euro more, so I opted for that one. I think the price needs to come down to 299 Euro, and then it maybe a good buy.

The screen looked really good though not as good as the one of the XZ3 but I would say better than the one of the XA2 Ultra I would say.
I got the xa2 ultra too but one best buy reviewer said it lasts the whole day with heavy use. I'm thinking of getting it or the xperia 1, but I never thought of spending more than $1K on a phone...

I have this phone as its out in the UK and the battery is fine. It will need charging at the end of the day but will last all day with moderate use.
