    Thank you so much for this video. I live in FL and so glad to know that I can count their therapy towards homeschool days. My youngest two have ASD and I was trying to figure it all out.

    Such a great video, thank you! We just moved to Florida from Texas in the fall, so showing anything at all is brand new to us. We’re in an RV, so I felt almost forced to go digital and was feeling self conscious about how that would go. Luckily we have made friends who are certified, so it should go smoothly. This was very reassuring, though!

    I do the crate system I find it so easy to manage and I don't write down all the books we read I just save the paper from from the library, the one they give u when u check the books out.

      The check out receipt from the library is next level!

      And you don’t have to keep slips all year long. Most libraries can print the whole checkout history for you whenever you like!

    Thank you for this video soooo much! I really needed some ideas for this because I am really struggling lol. Also, would you consider a book that your child reads along with an audiobook as independent reading or being read to? I always want my children to look at the words, so I buy them their own book to follow along with, but it confuses me on the read aloud list, or the independent reading list. What are your thoughts?

      Yes, you have to send in an intent to Homeschool to your school district. That will be your anniversary date for your Homeschool Evaluations. And that will happen once a year. This is when you meet with a certified teacher. (Usually a former teacher that Homeschool’s or has homeschooled) and present to them your portfolio, which is just basically sample copies of the students work. It can be their workbooks. But I would suggest not using the entire workbook, but instead, pulling out a few pages that show that your child made improvements through the year.

    Do you know anything about the new expanded school voucher law here on florida and how to apply for it for a homeschooled child? I’m starting my homeschool this fall with my kindergartner and I can’t find any details at all except that it will start in July.

      They haven’t released much that I know of. If possible follow Brenda Dickenson with HEF. Also look at the website Step Up For Students. That’s where you actually apply.

    I always struggle with booklists. How many books do I show? We read so many

    Hi, I'm in Florida. My daughter did school her homeschool online using an online curriculum. How do I do a portfolio with that?

    • @LivingWithEve
      @LivingWithEve  6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      You can take screen shots and make an online portfolio. You can also print things out and put them in a binder.

    I have a question. I just started unschooling this year. I'm also in florida. I have 2 boys who absolutely hate reading! One is in 5th grade and the other in 7th grade. What can I do about this and how will it impact the portfolio? Is there an alternative way to have reading included without it being a book? I'm stuck and kinda anxious.

    • @LivingWithEve
      @LivingWithEve  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don’t have anxiety. Your portfolio can be put together however you like. Do you do audio books? Magazines? Or just write down what you read.

    I sometimes feel like I am showing ToO much, this year I had my kids take standardized tests. Would it be appropriate to show the test and the areas where they are testing well above grade level showing very little day to day work in those areas? I’m just trying to make it easier for her.

    • @LivingWithEve
      @LivingWithEve  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is probably the worst answer but it’s the truth. It’s completely up to you and how you want to share it. If you think that the best thing to show, do that. You are 100% in control. Hope that helps a bit.

    Are the folder/binder portfolios able to be evaluated through a zoom call?

    • @LivingWithEve
      @LivingWithEve  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, that’s how I do my portfolio evaluations.

    My daughter turns six May 1. When do I submit the letter of intent? Also, does the parent get the results of the evaluation?

    • @LivingWithEve
      @LivingWithEve  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There are not any results (aka grades)
      , it a form with a signature and basic information. You send it to the district.
