apparently my teacher taught me well. I used it to change the feeling of disgust to craving and let a girl have her first sushi ever the very next hour. it's that powerful
Apparently not. Good for you if you used NLP to get the outcome you wanted, but you didn't use the Swish Pattern to do it unless being her ideal self included eating sushi.

Replay. Big take away is that once this is really grasped it can be innovated and adapted to change in more areas than just the overly problematic compulsions.
Replay: I had the same experience where it didn't work and I thought it was something wrong with me.... Now I realise I was taught incorrectly Takeaways 1. No Content with ideal self its more the sense of who your perfect self is 2. Don't Swish the compulsion and ideal self - clear the mind then do again Awesome! Going to use with a client today
Be careful with the word perfect. It has the implication of an impossible standard that you will never reach, which means you'll always fall short and likely feel bad about yourself. I like to use the term 'ideal self' because it implies that you're living your values, which results in fulfillment and satisfaction.
Hey, thank you sir I was doing it wrong. One thing I found that helped when going back to the old unwanted behavior after the swish is to count down from 10 to 0 in your head and then redo everything. It's astonishing how each time it becomes more challenging to envision the unwanted behavior. I'm beginning with small steps, and hopefully, if I notice some improvement, I will gradually progress to other areas for me it was porn addiction. I'm uncertain how this will aid in boosting confidence with women or finances. When I visit the ideal place, I envision myself breathing in a way that resembles meditation. Although I understand you advised against doing anything, this feels like the closest approximation to doing nothing that I could imagine. I feel like most of my self-help gurus have let me down the only one I can't seem to knock is Wayne Dyer his stuff is still so good even after years of listening to it.
I randomly found the swish pattern via Dr. David Snyder. Later that night I went home and ran it. I had a very specific goal over something like 'completing my tasks.' It was a great experience. However, the surprise came at 2am. I suddenly woke up with a VERY LOUD urgency to go by some more colorful cloths. I went to Walmart at 2:30 am and bought some bright colored polos and shirts to wear at work. That morning at work many people stopped to mention how bright I looked. I was typically not noticed. I wore black polos and khakis everyday. No wonder. I got a loud urgency to look up psychology issues. I discovered that I had an 'attachment to deprivation.' I realized that I was trying to hide while also being a very loud personality among peers. I am not an introvert by any means, but my inner child was still trying to hide. What a trip. I'm pretty sure that whatever I 'actually' did with the swish pattern, it CERTAINLY shook some deep things loose.
Replay: going to try this today. There is nothing more convincing than experiencing unexpected changes for the better in yourself. It's extremely motivating and thrilling!. I love getting past limitations, which I now know to be increasing the scope of whats possible. Is that correct? (enriching the map) Working at a higher logical level? trying to get the hang of these last few days as I'm really enjoy understanding why things work. Thank you Damon
Replay. Biggest takeaway was not using a specific context for the ideal picture I was taught differently. Question: If the image is only from head to shoulder how do we know it’s our ideal self? You can make the image the way it works for you. Head and shoulders is just a suggestion. The bottom line, that’s been hard for me to really get, it that it’s a very personal thing. Test and experiment and change it for yourself and see what works for you. If seeing more of your body ( be sure there’s no context or content) helps you to have the result you want, then use that. It’s for each of us to discover. Just be sure that you follow the steps excactly at first. Then, when you know you have got it, start getting creative.❤️

This was excellent! I've learned this as a coach but the technique was not explained well enough and it wasn't working! Can't wait to give this a proper try. Thank you!
Replay, and loved the video Damon. Thanks. What are your thoughts when it comes to associating into the ideal self image before disassociating and running the pattern? My hypnosis teacher teaches it this way to get a “feel” for how it may be to experience that ideal self first, then keep it disassociated for the actual pattern to keep the motivation to move towards that ideal image. I appreciate your input!
I've suffered from clamping of my eyes for many years (blepharospasm). Botox is the recommended treatment and this didn't work for me. I've tried many things including homeopathy. Nothing has worked so I've tried to talk to my brain and all the other recommended things. Listening to you talking about the switch pattern has somehow calmed me. Let you know when it's sorted
Love this, much clearer! Love all your work 🙏 But how do you imagine yourself without content? I find that so hard - ie/ I want to stop procrastinating over my business and get really clear, focused & motivated. But I just imagine myself as myself.. I don't look any different? 😂😢 Should I just image a happy me and a frustrated me?? 😅
It might take some time and effort, but it's worth it. If you're referring to the frustrated image as your compulsion image, it should be an associated image that compels you to procrastinate. You need to find the image that triggers procrastination and swish your ideal self in its place.
What process did you say might work better for fear? I didn’t understand the words you said there and I am brand new to NLP so couldn’t figure it out. Thanks!

Please let me know of anything you would change or add to this. Many thanks Mandy
replay. going to use to finally hit a classic kick serve in tennis and is the ideal great player vs. one who cannot hit one and is mediocre at best. can it work in athletics? and also to be more patient in traffic congestion. patient guy vs. ready to flip someone off
Hi Damon, Great lessend. My question to You. You’ ve mentioned “beach, Hawai etc” but than you’re refering to aLocation . I believe a location is not desired?
Replay - Thank you so much for this Damon. I was wondering if you might use this on a memory that causes issues. An example would be a bad accident that resulted in serious injury. It has been a long time and the person has recovered but now the person is having this memory come up when they reach a certain level of relaxation. As in when going to sleep, this memory re-plays and wakes them up.
It certainly wouldn't hurt to give it a try. There's no harmful side-effects. It will either work or it won't. A better process though would probably be the NLP Fast Phobia Process.
Thankyou for amazing content Can you give ideas regarding how to create an ideal image without content and behaviour Can you please describe it by example... like you gave an idea that my ideal self can be like someone who has solved all problems of my life & someone who is living an ideal life -- so here this contains the behaviour and place as well .. ? Help please...
This is when your creativity becomes important and don't say you're not creative. We're always creating in our minds. Create an image of yourself that when you see it (you), you just know this is the you who is fulfilled and living your highest ideals without seeing any specific context and without seeing you doing any specific behavior. No one can create that image for you. Maybe you see a black curtain behind you or a green screen. Maybe your eyes are bright and your skin is full of color. Perhaps the muscles in your face are relaxed and you have a happy and confident smile, etc. Take the time to create this image. Ask yourself what does your ideal self look like?
Greatly appreciate this clarification! Question: When I visualize my ideal self I’m Would it be okay to “pluck” a still life image of our ideal self out of an environment that we feel, say, accomplished (or whatever value)? The still life image is still on a blank background but the positive associated emotions remain.
Replay would you like to tell us more about the identity level i am surprised that you mentioned that i thought that most of the times these strategies are used to alleviate symptoms or change habits but identity level goals goes deeper right?
can you practise this on several habits etc., like, let's say I smoked AND overate. can I exchange whatever association/trigger I have with either one with that ideal image? And in that line, would it work with several triggers for the same habit - like, if I smoked and not only a image of a cigarette would trigger that, but also an imagine of a friend I smoke with, a certain place or whatever?
Very good questions. Yes, you can use it on multiple habits. When I say don't practice this everyday, I mean that for the same habit because you want this to eventually become unconscious. It's more powerful that way. But if you want to use it on other habits you want to break, go for it. Yes, you can, and should, use the same ideal image of yourself for any habit you want to break because the ideal image is in no particular context and because you're not doing any particular behavior. Your ideal image is universal so it will work to break any and all bad habits. Yes to your last question. If you find that you have multiple triggers for the same habit, you can do separate swishes for each trigger.
Replay. Thank you, this helped on my first attempt. Although, my ideal self image isn't as clear as I'd like it to be. Will this make a difference in making it unconscious? Meaning, will it stop working because of the lack of clarity?
The most important part is that the ideal image makes you feel compelled to move toward. Clarity helps with that so if it's not clear enough, it won't make you feel motivated toward it. If it worked for you though, that's a good sign that it's clear enough.
That's a big topic. I've healed so many issues using NLP that I wouldn't know where to begin to explain it here. I am writing a book though where I go into depth about how NLP helped me heal many issues in my life. I will announce it here on my channel when I publish it.
I watched it at 48 minutes and realize now that you're asking about physical healing. Just using visualization to see yourself healthy and healed helps a lot. It feeds your mind so that it focuses on healing the body. Does it work? Hard to say. But it certainly doesn't hurt.
@@DamonCart Smoking. I'm from Serbia, and smoking is still allowed everywhere unfortunately, so whenever I sit for a coffee, or worse a glass of wine, I get tempted. I don't smoke all the time, but it really bothers me and would not want to smoke at all.
@@anaperovic1706 the Swish Pattern might not be the best pattern for this. It doesn't sound compulsive. The way you describe it, it sounds more like you're fulfilling a value or possibly a few values that has to do with social acceptance and connection. Find out what the values are that smoking fulfills and then find at least three other things you can do besides smoking that would fulfill those same values and are healthier.
I enjoyed watching the replay. You provided great content and value :) You mentioned that the swish pattern should not be practiced daily because it becomes part of the subconscious. I was wondering which NLP practices you recommend to do every day. That are based in the self-concept model the most powerful NLP model.
You can do the Swish Pattern daily if you're working on something different every time, but you would probably run out of things to swish after a few days. Daily practices could be working a bit everyday on transforming qualities. For example you could spend a week transforming one quality and do that weekly. Just studying NLP and practicing the exercises can be a daily practice.

Please let me know of anything you would change or add to this.
Many thanks Mandy
Sounds like you've got it. Let me know how it goes with your client.
Replay - new to this topic and find listening to you very interesting
Thank you. And welcome!
replay. going to use to finally hit a classic kick serve in tennis and is the ideal great player vs. one who cannot hit one and is mediocre at best. can it work in athletics? and also to be more patient in traffic congestion. patient guy vs. ready to flip someone off
Yes. Give it a try. There's no harmful side-effects even if it doesn't work.
Is it possible to perform a covert swish pattern?
Dor example into a Nested Loops? Or in other way?
With enough creativity, almost anything can be done covertly. I've done a re-imprint covertly and that's an extremely involved process.
Hi Damon, Great lessend. My question to You. You’ ve mentioned “beach, Hawai etc” but than you’re refering to aLocation . I believe a location is not desired?
Just so! If you use a picture that fits anywhere, then you can use it anywhere.
You don't want to include a particular location in your ideal image. You want a neutral location so that it can generalize to any location.
Thankyou for amazing content
Can you give ideas regarding how to create an ideal image without content and behaviour
Can you please describe it by example... like you gave an idea that my ideal self can be like someone who has solved all problems of my life & someone who is living an ideal life -- so here this contains the behaviour and place as well ..
Question: When I visualize my ideal self I’m
Would it be okay to “pluck” a still life image of our ideal self out of an environment that we feel, say, accomplished (or whatever value)? The still life image is still on a blank background but the positive associated emotions remain.
Yes, that should work fine.
This is my first listen to anything NLP. It’s like showing a crying child a fun toy for adults.
Since you're using a metaphor I can't be certain of what you mean but it doesn't sound positive. NLP can certainly be fun. It's not a toy though.
Replay today. Was watching Cricket. Tournament started :)
I'm watching the Replay
Replay would you like to tell us more about the identity level i am surprised that you mentioned that i thought that most of the times these strategies are used to alleviate symptoms or change habits but identity level goals goes deeper right?
Much deeper.
It's too much to try to explain here. However, I have done several videos on this.
can you practise this on several habits etc., like, let's say I smoked AND overate. can I exchange whatever association/trigger I have with either one with that ideal image?
Watching replay! Thanks, now I understand why no content or context makes it work...
Glad to help.
@@DamonCart It continues to work for me even though its still not clear.
Thank you for the response & sharing this, much appreciated.
Can you explain how you used the NLP for healing at 48mins. Or potentially cover it on a future video?
That's a big topic. I've healed so many issues using NLP that I wouldn't know where to begin to explain it here. I am writing a book though where I go into depth about how NLP helped me heal many issues in my life. I will announce it here on my channel when I publish it.
I watched it at 48 minutes and realize now that you're asking about physical healing. Just using visualization to see yourself healthy and healed helps a lot. It feeds your mind so that it focuses on healing the body. Does it work? Hard to say. But it certainly doesn't hurt.
Replay. I watched you explain how to do the swish pattern in another video some time ago. It did not work for me, but I'll give it a go again.
What did you use it for?
Hi Damon replay.. where do I find the pdf for this swish pattern also do you run courses?
Kate NZ
In the description box of the video.
@@DamonCart Thank you!
