too bad they decided to cut the first television broadcast bits. I think they're very funny, and the slowly continuing storyline of 'they definitely fancy each other' mixed with 'they're absolutely inept at figuring out things working on tv' was quite engaging.
They would test the programme with an audience and select for broadcast those that got the best reactions. The advantage of a multi-part sketch show is that you can shoot more than you need, to fit the format, and any unpublished inserts appear on the DVD as extras. Back when there were DVDs and extras were a thing.
You know, I think I heard that she won an Academy Award or something, just in case you weren't aware - and hadn't read that same sort of comment a gazillion times before.
supposedly it's 'no hook [main mix] by terry hunter and kenny dope. i have not been able to actually find and confirm this though, so it's not of much use. Promo Only // Underground Club: February 08
@stingy1sam that's just one beach. there are lots of beaches in Britain with sand. Search Colwyn Bay in google, for an example of an especially nice one.
I'm 100% sure that slight, irrelevant inaccuracy was the reason Robert, David, the director, producers and the BBC decided not to include the sketch in the final cut of the show. When you consider their position, I'm sure everyone would agree. Under the circumstances, a sketch featuring a neurotic man who is desperately afraid of being seen naked as he changes out of his clothes on a beach, saying the wrong defence readiness level totally robs the sketch of its humour.
If these two had never done Peep Show this show would never have made it passed it’s pilot. It’s overhyped nonsense that tried to ride the moment of Peep Show.
“The cleverness of you 😉” lol they really do love each other

I wouldn’t go that far.
"You feel hot."
A good stony beach. Nothing more relaxing...
Oh 2010.. back when TH-cam didn't allow for full 10-minute videos.
"Essentially, he uses the same negotiating technique as a teenage girl."
xD
The gay monk sketch is brilliant, I can't believe they cut it.
+Cameron Kemp Hope you received the attention you were looking for, mate
Its one of the best over all to be honest
@@Cresanova your obese
The beach is Eastbourne, my home town. Almost makes me miss it...
I think my microphone needs adjusting
I feel sorry for that editor that chose to cut these parts out; how he managed to pick the bits he did - when it's all golden - I'll never know...

It's funny how you replied to this post 7 years later, yet I'm here to read it one day after you post it
@@em.1633 Yes, the fact that time has scale is... funny.
@@twisted_nether373 it is rather actually
what would've made beach sketch funnier is if his trunk washed ashore and he couldn't get out of the water
The monk sketch has a hint of Benny Hill.
:D The Abbot!! :D
God Olivia Coleman looked gorgeous in these bits. I've always had a thing for her 😍
I would watch "The Invisible Darkness"...
Interesting - I've never heard anyone say that before. She's a good actress but not exactly blessed in the looks department.

The audio could do with re sync. Makes it crap to watch.
I think that's the idea.
@johnnyblazze911 really? just download any porn soundtrack.
Defcon 4 is the second lowest level of warning. I think he meant Defcon 2

@@NxDoyle Very Mitchell-esque, if a bit belated to be relevant. 8/10 for slightly nasal ranting expertise.

English beaches look horrible.. all those pebbles O.o
As opposed to sand? Sand is gross and gets everywhere
They’re not all like that...
England (and the rest of the UK) has a huge number of sandy beaches, as well as plenty of pebbly and muddy beaches.
That's okay, we dnt want you here
I see why these were deleted
