I bought the same one! I painted mine. The wheels were destroyed and the castors bent pretty badly. So I bought 12 inch castor wheels from TS and did some modification and welding to get them to fit. I'm adding an actuator that I can control from the cab of my TYM574 to change blowing directions. Old Harper-Goosan blowers are flipping in the $3,500 range. Argimetal blowers are way up there in price as well as all the turbine units. --- Can't say I'm looking forward to fall because I just love summer. But I'm ready.
What a great score Jake! Nice job on reviving it. It’ll look great with a fresh coat of paint. I was surprised when all those grease fittings took grease. You don’t get that too often on older equipment like that. Nice addition to the tool box!
Hi Jake. New subscriber and enjoying your videos, especially this one. Awesome machine you got there. I'm up in northeastern CT and had been looking over the last year or two for a PTO blower for my L3901. Hard to come by used, but found a RAD recently for next to nothing. Had to do some similar work on mine like re-beading the tire and replacing the valve. It has a manual chute that the long handle got bent by the prior owner. Like you, need to find a buddy that has a torch to get some heat on it to bend back into form. Changed the gear oil and good to go. Thing runs like a champ and can't wait to use it in the fall on the pastures and driveway. Should significantly cut down my labor time with the back pack blower! I may even show it some more love and throw a new coat of paint on it during the off season. Hope you do a video in the fall with yours. Enjoy your machine. Mike
Always be careful to let air back out after setting the bead BEFORE releasing tention on ratchet strap. It can fly off violently under pressure...ask my hand how I know.😂
Believe it or not I did prototype work for giant vac years ago. Those castors should be greased and the wheels can be filled with liquid rubber at Pete's tire barn in Connecticut. The PTO drive shop should be lubricated.Greased, where the 2 pieces meet and come together. It will make it taking apart and removing the attachment much easier❤❤❤❤
It would be interesting to get a Kestrel Anemometer to see what the velocity is between the one that you had built and the PTO drive one! Giant Vac was is South Windham on the eastern side of CT, close to Norwich. My dad had a friend that worked as an engineer for them, and moved to Wisconsin when SCAG bought them.
30-40k is right on par for most new reputable mini skid steers. A full size skid steer isn’t able to get into many clients properties, and this one was given to me I didn’t buy it.
Ok your neighbors called the ones that live 3 houses down and we're wondering were all the leaves came from 😅😅 oh and you should paint flames on it and get it to shoot out flames on each side 💪🏻💪🏻 last thing $3000 for rugged splitter
Boy that really blows. Now a coat of fresh paint and a big dude ranch diy sticker and it will look great 👍
That's the plan!

Nice! I’m looking forward to using mine as well!
Nice find Jake. That will really come in handy with leaves in the Woodyard.
I can’t wait to try it in the fall

Yeah I was surprised as well!
Great find!!! That should make cleanup easier!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Nice Rebuild and I think you will enjoy it in the fall!

Nice! Sounds like you got yourself a good find as well! Good luck with it and thanks for watching
Also wanted one of those babies....nice find!
Looks like you got a great deal on that!

lol yeah by removing the valve stem plenty of air escaped once the bead was set.
Nice equipment find, and good maintenance/restoration 👍
Thanks 👍

Wow small world! Yep I greased everything on it and the new section of pto shaft had grease inside it already
Great find!!!!!
Really nice score and restore!
Thanks!

Yes I’d be interested to see how they compare as well!
Only thing it's missing is a cup holder for your beer.
lol the tractor has that 😂🤙🏼
Just looked up the skid steer. Why didn’t you buy a used full size skid steer? 30 to 40k is crazy for a mini! Always enjoy your videos!

Wow what a great find I’ve been looking for one also , if you don’t mind me asking how much was it ?
Next time use never seize on that shaft
It was given to me!
@@DudeRanchDIY wow that’s a huge score
Sounds like a 747 at takeoff hahaha.
Jake all you need to do is get a pair of safety goggles and then Sara can blow dry her hair 😮😊❤
lol I’ll have to get her to try that!
Those small tires are hard to do
11 days later, there's snow on the ground. Its almost like you havent lived in Connecticut for more than 3 years
Haha crazy this weather! Feels like it’s gone by like that🫰🏼

How do you have a shear bolt on a keyed shaft
I misspoke it’s not a shear bolt
Shouldn't be a sheer bolt on a shaft with a keyway. With driving belts, there's no need for sheering there.
True, I replaced with a standard grade 5 bolt.
Why did you take the pto shaft off that's a waste of time
I wanted to get it freed up off the shaft after sitting for years.
