Hi David. I’m a university student and I am doing a media paper where we have to do a Website using Google sites on an environmental issue. I started fiddling with it and watched videos which is how I found your videos. Google sites is soooooo enfuriating text and image formatting wise. I pulled my hair out tonight. We must use Google sites. I have done an intro paper to HTML CSS and can manipulate fonts to do my bidding but images is where I fall down and the grid system makes me want to bite the head off of a gummy bear! Your content is cool. I have subscribed. Lord give me strength!

This is like comparing a hammer with a screwdriver. A site is a site and a blog is a blog. Different things. There are some "multitools" like Wordpress that offer site, blog, e-commerce, and everything in the same platform. But Google Sites is for making a static information site, and a blog is for a dynamic information (news). Using one tool for a different purpose will always generate issues, and saying that is very difficult to put a nail with a screwdriver... well: it is! I have seen many videos in youtube about how to make a blog with Google Sites. Wrong. That is not a blog, but a collection of static information without dates, search or archive. Same with creating a site with Blogger...

I have WIX and Squarespace tutorials coming up in a week or so. Both are fine for blogging. I would use WordPress though. But if I had to use a website builder I would go with Squarespace.

So what I do is that I create empty pages and copy the html of individual blog post banner(the box which is shown on homepage as well) everytime I add a new post. Will this affect seo performance as I am not adding any additional script or something but just putting the link of actual post linked to whatever it is called banner/box?
Hi David...not to dispute you on this, I haven't tested either one, but The Caffeinated Blogger here on TH-cam, said that Google Sites do get ranked. He was showing how to use one for affiliate marketing. I'm thinking of using one of them that's why I'm interested. Blogger is so not appealing to look at.
Google Sites can rank, it's just the on-page SEO is quite poor like I showed in the video. For example, I promote the Sony X3000 via my blog. But the traffic to that page on my blog is 100% from a TH-cam video so in that instance it does not matter if it's a blogger blog or a G site. Again, it depends on what you're trying to do :)

Yes it's possible. You could use use one domain for your Google Site, another for domain for your blogger blog and just link the two. That would be the easiest way.

I need to become informed and to change my mindset. I do not think of things automatically as ways of making money like you seem to do. You use a lot of language here that I’m not familiar with or am only familiar with in passing. I suppose I need to learn that also. Is there a dictionary of such terms anywhere? That would be super for me. I am not one of these people who automatically just searches everything. Spoonfeed me please. LOL
It's tough. You can probably rank for your G sites name, but you would need to add in good on page seo for specific pages and then build up your site authority. But if you're going to do that, you might as well build a website on a shared host.

This was shot with a Canon SL2 and a 10-18mm lens. Cheap, easy setup. I now use a Canon 90D because I want to record in 4k.

Well a landing page usually means some type of page to get people to sign up to an email list. So I'm not sure what you're trying to do.
