I was actually thinking about this the other day and I'm glad they are doing it. The only reason I dropped this game it's because its a PvP game and you're at a disadvantage the higher your ping is. NA players have a huge advantage when it comes to this game simply because their ping is just better. Especially with the way this game works with having to dodge aoe attacks which are harder to dodge on high lat, reacting fast to enemy abilities to counter play with your own abilities and so on...
Yeah I'm Australian and before they added the East server I had to play on West with 250 ping, it was actual torture lmfao I don't know how I could stand it looking back. I hopped on my old West character the other day for old times sake and had a mental breakdown after one corrupted dungeon haha.
I remembered people hating on SBI after they announced the East server a year ago, not knowing the pain playing with 270 ping (at best), I stopped playing in 2019 because of that. and how happy I was when they finally announced the east server, and came back to albion, now playing at 30 ping average.
East was understandable, there was more like a 70/30 agree/disagree ratio, but an Europe server is just being made to get fast money with premium,gold and founder packs no more like that, if pings was the main reason they would let you migrate your account, but that would not let them get a lot of money selling their gold and premium packs right?, 1-2 month ago a friend of mine began arguing about his ping increasing from 100-130 to 150 or even more, he's been playing since 2020 with me, reminds me to when LoL opened like 4 different servers, they ruined people ping in NA who was not living in US or Mex but they gave free migration and even a skin, but this game where you progress matters a lot, is not like a MOBA, you have to start from scratch being the main reason just to make you buy real money premium and gold packs so you can speed up your progress, rip for people who just bought 1 or 2 years of premium in west, they just wasted their money, East Server was announced way more earlier not one month before release, and if you send them a ticket telling them your issue about buying premium they will just say " we are sorry but we cant do anyhting about it" but at the same time people is being forced to move there as i already said, server ping went higher for people who didnt have too much ping, one more thing, when we lost people from East we lost a lot of content and people, cant imagine when EU is gone too, both servers will be boring, maybe the EU will have lot of content and activity first days or even months but will decrease when the hype for "a new start" disappears, btw people playing with more than 150+ ping in EU are from east europe, "EAST" means they might have better ping in the East Server than west, the only countries i see that had issues with pings in both east and west is people from africa, South America also has ping issues in west, so lets make a South America server too, lets kill the game but get as much money as possible before the game just become a shadow of what it was

You are missing the point. It's so easy to establish multiple servers and still have the world be linked like every other MMO.

Most of the US server players play with 200 ping and they would have 300 ping in EU

As a recent returing players i like getting to have a complete fresh server to have a fresh start is good. Also many friends stopped playing before cause there was no good connection for eu. So i think fo eu this is a good change. People dont have to make switch if the dont want to.
Also wales, bots and raderhackers are killing the game themselfs for new players is hard to compete against veteran player base. With crafting being to expensive to do it your self with all the public crafting stations being overly expensive to use for a starting player.
So i think a fresh sever will do alot of good for eu pkayer base and newer players who dont have to lose much to make the switch
Crafting has to be done a very specific way to really be effective, but it can be done as a newbie if u pay attention to bonus days us the proper food, and if ur losing money on the craft u transport it to the black market.....that's the simple version of how to craft
EU server is not a problem. A fresh start is the problem. You know who's going to dominate the new server? Whiles and bots and big alliances.

from my point of view as eu player its a very good idea for sbi to open europe server cause i was already quited game because of lag and connection issues so eu server will make me back to the game and i think there is many of us who was waiting for eu servers to open and even its means we have to start from the fresh start its still makes me exited to play the game without lag hopefully.
i'd happily come back for an EU server, would be nice not being held down by ping + who doesnt love a fresh start on an mmo

Nah I dropped it after like 200 hours because I like playing pvp but couldnt cuz I was always getting killed by 200 ping. Cant wait for the server to launch so I can come back and play on a fair ground

On the other note, I'm here only because of the announcement. I quit about 3 years ago because it's a pvp game and I had ping disadvantage.
I will return. I'm bringing 8 other players with me, 6 oft them never played.

i live in south america and ping for us is between 130~160 and we never cried about it, we play because we like and we love it, and guess what for us south americans this is never going to change, west is more about SA than NA if you pay attention

@@xeeker4521 Some yes, however it is a gamble as the playerbase will be quite divided. They will have to do some overhauls on all servers to make this work well long term. Hope to see Albion succeed while making players reasonably happy as well.

I hope Albion would do European Continent, NA Continent Asian Continent
and you travel with a long journey like (Sailboat / Ship) / long passage which are risky to another continent, the disadvantage is a little bit of Lag, but it's a more realistic approach
as a programmer which also deals with some game programming, it would be a really hard integration to use users data in all of the server databases, hard to integrate also hard to cooperate between servers, so i dont think they will take a risk like that and mess the game up :)

Besides the ping benefit for our EU players I want a restart of the journey. There's not much to do in the West server right now since there's no progression left.
If I had a maxed out account, I wouldn't even dream of leaving it to play with a lower ping
If I were a growing game studio that had been acquired by a larger financial entity I would stabilize the servers for all current and potential users. My game currently works on PC, we've had a successful mobile campaign and have been working diligently on controller support after adding a few more features do a massive ad campaign to draw in those potential customers and present all of these massive successful features on a game they can choose any platform that's currently running a f2p model I'm going to be seeing more massive upside if I'm being optimistic
It’s my humble opinion is that they are separating Servers to handle an increased workload and keeping ping down in all areas in preparation for a console launch. They have been fine tuning controller controls for roughly a year. And with the parent company stock sliding in the wrong direction, a launch on modern consoles and possibly switch 2 is a very attractive way of bringing millions more players in,(hence the localized servers) and shore up revenue at the same time. ❤
I played 1200 hours with 200 ping and that's enough. If there are people who are worried that there will be no players left on the American server, they should come to the EU server. Let's see how Americans will pvp with 200 ping and how they will avoid skills.
If people already say West is more than 50% EU players just imagine how many ppl were not playing rhis game cuz of high ping/Connection problems etc IMO EU can even beat West with the current population

im playing with my friends on eu server start were league players.
And let's not forget that it's not just Europeans who are planning on migrating to the EU server. I am well-established player in the EAST server and is very much capable of buying almost every item in the game, yet I am still planning on creating at least one account on the EU server to experience another fresh start feeling in the world of albion.
I think this applies to EU players planning on migrating to the EU server, I doubt they will just abandon their WEST server accounts even after the EU server drops.

Splitting players between servers will not kill this game. Splitting regions will kill this game !
One server for all regions it means there were 3 dally Pick of Plyers not one. It means now every server will have pick of players between 4pm and 11pm. At night and in the morning there will be no big content. Imagine there will be no risk to collect minerals at night and no PVP on black zones. It will hurt economy severly if the server is dead half of the day.
Now the open world will not live 24/7, but 12/7 it will kill all beaty of this game. And ping for EU~150 was not a problem in MMO game.
After 7 years I'm no loger trust Albion, in next year I think we can get boosters and p2w also... becouse EU server is just to take out money, and it is not thay last try.

Albion should have upped their game by bringing the current content in 2020 instead of lands awakened + should have made the east right before covid hit + their advertising could have gotten them the massive player count they needed ngl
I'm italien, A LOT! A lot of pleayers have stopped playing in American server because they will stabilize in the new Eu server. With a European server, no Italians would come to the American server, the guild has two choices, move or become multilingual. I'm new player, I'm started 4 months ago, I want the new server. I will be a competitive player, I'm tired to skip a lot of content pvp on blackzone cause I play with 200 ping. So I'm sorry.. if you wanna stay here, just stay here!
Well there's also the point that over time the different servers will stabilize as they even out over the years as new players join in.
I'm not ganna lie when it releases I'm going to jump ship so hard even tho I'm American I want a server we're I can actually compete with out being waffle stomped by mega guilds that are 2000 ip I'm ever single content I get into.
If a lot of European OG players go to Europe, they can actually set a pace in the economy and it will stabilize immediately. Compared to the Eastern server where there were more new players than veteran so it took time since players were learning.

A total sign of a dying game is the company spending the hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars to expand their servers into another country.

However, you can see the stats. I showcased the graph. And about the retention, i did mention in the video that probably around 50% of that remained in the game (which is still good)
I do hope what you saying about the third option is right because i dont want to see another Lost Ark, they also had 1 major servers, then they tried to expand with more servers, guess what, it have a huge impact on the main server and they didnt got enough playerbase for the other servers as well, they tried do merge the servers but it was already too late

Bro I play From Italy, I've been playing for 4 months and US server is a nightmare for new players. Ping fixed at 160, full awakened t8 in yellow and red zones just one shotting t4 and t5 for fun, it's unplayable for me, I'm so glad they drop a EU server, we should have a decent ping and not billionaires after 1 month (or at least a tiny percentage)

Playerbase data and numbers will not be published from SBI. For whatever reasons, seems like they are financially indeed in thin ice. If it's about money, why can't they push subscription modal instead? Free to play may not be feasible in a long run

@@InsanityxDy they charge more than WoW, FF14 or ESO, they are a mobile game company, remember premium was around 10-12 dollars and they increased to 15 as one of the first things after they bought sandbox, they want fast money and will keep doing anything to get easy money in the next years, mobile games makes 200$ or even more per player, they will aim to make albion makes income like this, they will force EU players who plays around 100ms in West move to EU and start over, because of the timers, they didnt do such move when East launched, so they just kicking the last players from East in West and EU players

For me personally, i feel like it's a very big middle finger for people who were playing in the West from EU anyways. For years, you had to play with 100+ ping, progressing, grinding, establishing yourself. And now, after so long, they decide to release an european server, and instead, just wiping everything.
Why instead they don't open Americas server, move West to europe, and start fresh for americas?
I'm Eu and staying on west. I have really high specs and just don't wanna grind again. If west dieing, you still can pve mobs.

West server will be hit for atleast 5 to 6 months or maybe a year but after that it will be all stabalize

when the game launched they promoted it as having one world for all of the players, so them adding a 2nd and now 3rd server is just further dilution of that idea. i think it really sucks to not have all players in one world because it lowers chances to meet people from around the world.

first time in long time i opened the game and i questioned myself, what the fuck was i doing in this game to have fun. i mean. fresh start? im gonna gather t 2 t 3 resources to craft me a sword, run dungeons to get runes to enchant them? sounds fun at first but when that hype is over you will be like.. what the fuck i am even doing? is it even worth it? because you have to trade your HOURS, just to fame farm to get to where you already were just before they announced this cash grab shit, for -70/100 ping?

for na, bro there are times you zone 3 / 4 maps just to see one person in the black zone. i cant imagine how is that gonna be like when eu server finaly launches. its gonna feel dead.

They are too late for some needed updates like localization for some languages which has a big playerbase (it is so easy to do like 2 3 days of work and with playerbase costs no money but it came like after 3 years later), some servers for lower the ping for a big deal of players, they instead just nerfed and nerfed and nerfed solo player experiences, and made updates for juicy big guilds, territories and some crystal shenanigan raiders, which is %1-5 of using as the playerbase. So the game died like 2 years ago, they understood they are late, but they still think that maybe we can make some money out if it, like any other games did before dying :)
Well no one wanna talk about bug glitches and lags that game bring with new server. When east launch game was unplayable for 2 moth u cant log in cuz thers always que for loging in and game kick in 10 minuts and don't even wanna remember attack on server that make me quite game. Ya it is big problem. Cuz game is keep crashing after each updat and so u can understand wht happen with new server.
I fully understand multiple servers for lag/ping issues. But one of the magical things about Albion used to be that there was only 1 big mega server

As an Argentinian I am going to have the worst ping in the game. They should open the EU server and move the NA server to center America to attract more South American players and make everyone happy.

The true issue is SBI keeps applying a short term solution to a long term problem, Revenue.
I want to see Albion succeed.
They refuse to fix the black market.
They refuse to overhaul raids/PvE.
They refuse to give solo players meaningful content that has 0 ratting or exploitation.
Make no mistake the EU server is a huge gamble with a massive short term influx of much needed cash. They could do many things to make people want to spend money on the game long term and attract a larger playerbase. I would be happy to discuss specifics in your discord Mog.
I am happy for EU players that will be playing on the new server and wish everyone well. I truly hope it prospers for more than 2 or 3 seasons.

@@bollvigblack It certainly is its own playstyle. I appreciate that, however solo content that has no ratting would be a nice way for some of the casual players to enjoy the game more. I only care because it would help bring in more people.

Well we still have the entire American continent as a player base. Europeans were a part of it, but not mayority.
Europeans were the majority. More than %50 of the playerbase is not american.
For every 8 european I know i know one American in Albion

There no new languages to add, there no magical advertising to do. In fact the server has biggest most veteran players its not new player friendly

im from europe i just type this because you typed "cry", first of all, are you stupid? he is not talking about servers he is talking from player perspective, just because they add a server they rip you off your hours of progresses. now go ahead and make that oathkeepers or arcane staffs for example 100 level in open world boy stop chatting dont waste time you need to work! ahah. same conditions? if you buy the pack than you are a dumbfuck if you dont then you are not starting the game with same conditions because people that start before you, will sell you their overpriced mules and items and you will have to buy them or you gonna have to do tier 4 5 6 dungeons just to get some runes to enchant them im not even talking about the part where you are fully equipped in t2 and kill mobs with them. thats even a more pathetic event. and after that you gonna head towards t3 resources and gather them slowly with your t2 gathering tool with your mule, dont forget to keep going to the city frequently or you will have to remove some of that precious t2 t3 logs or hides from your inventory as you will have not much of a carry capacity with you. thats what you call having a blast. i call it being a fucking imbecil. :D because eventaully that is you wasting thousands of hours for -70ms @@pvlshka

Mogdone is being really disingenuous by saying that East server doubled Albion's player base when the only evidence is a graph of record high daily active users shortly after the server launched. The google global trend shows the interest declining sharply ever since.
Yeah but he did say "in his openion" so take it with a grain of salt I am pretty sure he is trying to pick a middle ground so he doesn't upset either side of this controversy but the fact remains the same. The premium prices in the east server are 21+ mil yes it's 3mil more. You might say so what? 3 mil more is a lot for new players and it can be the difference between being able to make primium back for the next month. And yes the east server is very dead.

No matters what happens, this is a lose lose lose situation for me, so Albion will be dead for 8 months for me, and after that I will check what's the best option given my context; playing EU, playing NA or not playing at all.
as a old player they need to offer a char transfor to the new server this sucks an i think they relly need to fix this issue also but old players with high fame alot of money crafting an other stuff on that are stuck on a dead server is just not a good IDE her SBI relly need to offer a char transfor.
i play from Danmark i have Fibernet an i have 18-20 Ping max th contrys like Italia just need to get there internet better an get some fiber insted of that random shit they do down there when they ley cables
here in Danmark its the Goverment set the standrad an only the best or nothing they are already testing 6.G here too 50.000 wireless megabit its few contrys with this problem not all have the problem with ping time..
Maybe a hot take but imo having a new server and starting over is more fun than getting server transfered, been playing the game for about 4-5 years and i dont care at all about my progress, albion is that kind of game for me. The new eu server is gonna be loads of fun to play.
Just transfer the server it is about time west players to come in middle
They should have just make 2 server but one world. Something like 2 black zone.
as a player on east i just wish they treat Eu servers like they treat the east servers by dumping all the cheaters to them and fix our servers
Nah it’s not dying …. I started albion 2 month ago. Since then I make a guild with a bunch of noob. I met at least 20 brand new players…. And I m not social. So the influx of new players is still big, and mostly all the people I met are from USA and Canada. The population will go down , yes. But that about it
They could gave option to remove old account and get few months / years of premium based on fame farmed. It is not EU players fail, they had no option in past to play this PvP based game with good ping on EU server. They dont care about their veteran player base. I dont mind playing from scratch as everyone else. I mind they dont care about ruining your energy and money spended on grinding your account. They should gave - transfer compensation ( decent one ). Thats not gonna happend, because they dont care about player base. Not realy. Perhaps game will rly die eventualy, who knows. Only time will tell. But i will never agree this treat with veteran players of their own game community. It is mindblowing, how they ignore their spended at their accounts.
Long term, this is a good move for Europe and a bad move for NA. The European pop is growing and healthy. The NA pop is stagnant at best. I see the new server getting back to peak pop, but NA isn't attracting enough new players to replace the Europeans.

Everyone starting at day 1 is great IMO. Also, a new EU server will bring back past players who quit because they found the game unplayable.

people mad about these juz because the player base, when asia server opened most asia guild moved there west became not so hardcore on ZVZ, now opened another EU server to cut off west player base, after that will ZvZ even going to be fun? we dont even have enuf ppl to maintain ZvZ scale.
tbh midscale is way more fun anyway i mean the old times where big guilds close whole zones was just bad i rather take this tbh.

You know what will kill the Albion West server? The subreddit talking so doomy and gloomy that new players get discouraged from ever sticking around. All I see there is "dead game" "dead game" "dead game." It's the liveliest, most talkative dead game I've ever seen, lol. But that negativity is scary to new players, because who wants to invest time and effort into a game people are prematurely calling dead? It sucks when a community sours like that and becomes its own worst enemy. Self-fulfilling prophecies and all that.
the problem for me atleast as far as i can see is was that the america server it was that the americans give alote of money to the game for taking huge gears witch is somethink most europeans players cant and they have to try hard just to have a little chance to win with a pretty good gear if a europe server come up i think alote of europeans will go to europe just for that and i am european and probably i will transfer to europe server first of all for be easyer for me to fight better bcks i m from greece and we dont have the best connections show yeah i have pretty much 2 good reasons to do
also i was playing with at least 250 ping at the best and it wasent alote of times that i had that i played the game for almost 3 years and i have played with 250 lets say a week and the rest was 300 ping +
Is albion really dying or is it just changing and people getting mad? Having 1 server is such a cool idea but there is a reason no other companies do it... its not optimal at all and is very expensive to pull off. Ive been in server administration as a system admin into server side engineer and its so hard and expensive to bridge the gap and make multiple servers act as one. Alot of gamers do not understand that from a backend view. They are doing it because the gaming experience for EU is not good. Albion wants the game to be good for everyone. If they have to divide people for individuals to have a better experience then so be it. If they want more NA players then they need to start advertising to the NA audience.
the truth is still the want money tbh but i will still go to eu because its still a nice experience but no doubt its a big cash grab :b
IF Ping was their reason, they would able the power to free migrate for limited time, then a migrate with real money, but they just care about making easy money, the fresh start is just a vague excuse, they have all the data from markets in real time, they can just mimic that in a limited stock making EU a stable server since day one, just needing to remake guilds
east was a success but with the europe its the final nail
here's another option west starts dying market starts becoming so exploitable that people start boughting for massive profits then the market will even out and the economy will be fixed throuh those means, but pvp will still be dead.

Well I quitted the game back in the days because of the ping. I will now return after several years :D Will bring some of mye friends with me that quitted for the same reason.
and if they just sell transfer accounts into servers by gold?

@@zxuti8492 BC that will not give them money, they will not get the money from real money premium packs, gold packs and founder packs if they do that, most of the veterans will buy at least 3 months for sure and try to do some of the east bugs had, like making 5b of silver in the black market etc etc, remember albion was sold to a mobile game company they will milk the game as much as they can, one of their most stupid moves was the premium going from 10 to 15 dollars and the gold market artificial price increase, East server was kinda insteresting as they never had a good ping in west, and was even an interesting experience to see the game starting from scratch, we tought it was going to be like in 2017-2018 but it was not like that at all, people commenting it is a good move from them, 7 years later after release, fresh start, announced month before, and forcing people to move with the new timing change which is ridiculous, it will also hurts economy as we will see a lot of bots safely farming earlier while everyone is sleeping as it is sick to count that people will play at 1 am to 4 am in a long term just to justify the new changes
