Fr. Terrance continues his explanation of the simplicity of St Therese's spirituality that characterizes her Little Way here focusing on actions, including the practice of renunciation & penance. He covers giving God the liberty to act in an extraordinary way, how the depth of our union with God determines the value of our actions, how the opposite of “self-focus” is “self-forgetfulness”, making little renunciations, little crosses that enable us to accept bigger crosses, leading to greater sanctification and simplicity.
This is the second talk of four from his retreat on the Little Way of St Therese that focuses on her simplicity, love of neighbor, and love of God. It took place in August 2021 at the Mother of the Redeemer Retreat Center in Bloomington, IN: maryschildren.com/

Our relationship with other living things including pets is a barometer of our direct ability to empathise and love. For example there is a correlation between children who abuse animals and psychopathy traits. Love is not a finite thing surely ? The more we have the more we have to give away?
