i've been reading kaiju for a long period of time and it was really worth it be it the art story plot and other things it just excelled in everything feels nice to see a good manga getting mentioned
I will say though I do agree heavily with alot of the things said in this video, especially with what you said about kafka. I always hear people say *"He's 32 but he still acts like your typical shounen protagonist"* and yeah he has the same personality as your typical shounen protagonist sure, but his background is what still makes him different from other protagonist which is the main thing alot of people ignore. Your typical shounen protagonist are normally teenagers or young adults, they have a goal they wanna accomplish and because of their youth they got their entire lives to achieve said goal and most of the time they achieve said goal before they even turn 18 or 21. Kafka is in a different boat which is what makes his introduction so good, he's at rock bottom, he's way passed his 20s and accepted the fact he'll never accomplish his dream because of his age. However when he is given 1 last chance to achieve said goal he barely scraps by and barely gets into the defense force. I say this because he's much slower than the younger competitors because of his age meanwhile if he was a teenager he likely would of passed with flying colors because his age would of given him better stamina to keep up with everyone else. His age limits him to what he can do despite the fact he's a overpowered character. He deems most of the accomplishments he does like killing kaiju as feats done by no.8 and not by himself. It doesn't help he's not as fit as he needs to be as a human which limits what he can do as a human which is why he is so dependent on no.8's power. Stuff like this is what makes kafka familiar but different as a shounen protagonist, he has the classic typical aspects of what shounen protagonist normally do or are but his age limits himself to the accomplishments that he should be surpassing with flying colots that younger shounen protagonist easily pass by with. Overall kafka can be summed up with 1 common praise *"You're never too old to follow your dreams"* which is a praise that is heavily relevant to all shounen but it's more relevant to kaiju no.8 when our protagonist here is living his last chance to achieve his goal and isn't letting his age get in the way.
I have never read kaiju but I will start with this one. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like the main character is a nod to Franz Kafka and his book Metamorphosis...
i've got some of the manga of kaiju no.8 and i've been enjoying it so much, i can't wait for more to come out and i'm hyped for when the anime of it comes out
Demon slayer blew up because it had a simple story people liked along with good stunning animation to go with it. A story like demon slayer doesn't need to be complex or massively unpredictable for it to become well known or popular. Kaiju no.8 is kinda in the same boat with it also being simple, very predictable and yet it's been blowing up as a manga since 2020. Watch kaiju no.8 blow up as a anime and people realize it's not groundbreaking which is the point cause neither demon slayer or kaiju no.8 are trying to do anything new which is fine for stories half the time. Watching a story that sticks to a formula you are already familiar with can still be entertaining in a world where too many stories try too hard to be different and fail half the time. It's best to have simplistic stories like kaiju no.8 go in hand with complex stories like chainsaw man
@@Kaiju-bm4ts all these languages you’ve chosen to spit facts, I think people have a preconceived notion things must be complex to be good/blowup. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it I guess
@@amoxsensei Yeah I agree, I hate it people nowadays are so desperate for complex stories that they forget simplistic stories are good too. I mean marvel has TONS of simple stories yet that franchise continues to rock the American entertainment industry in some ways. Complexity is fine but there's a limit to it and unfortunately people don't seem to acknowledge that limit much. It's better to have complexity and simplicity than just one over the other.
I’ve got a question. Do you edit your videos yourself, or outsource it to a professional editor? The only reason I’m asking is because I’m an editor myself and this is the level of editing I aspire to reach in a few months
The only thing im not really a fan of in this series is that the mc acts quite like a teenage kid even though he is an adult, like i know it's a shounen but it would have been a bit better if he got a little more mature.
You do realize people in their early 30s with no kids or really important jobs ACT like that right?. He has nothing that is forcing him to be super serious all the time, the dude ain't 40 or 50. He's 32 which is still young even for his age.

I found you again you improve so much good job broski (Sparkie)
Now we've got ourselves a real "animeman"
I doubt this is gonna get as successful as other series, but what do I know, Demon Slayer is the most mid series ever created and it exploded.
You never know what could happen honestly, I’ve read the manga and as much as I like some of the characters it’s really underwhelming.
