the thing i hate THE MOST about korra, id that she is basically an earthbender (unchangable). she is a WATERBENDER, thats THE FUCKING ELEMENT OF CHANGE. and she is *nothing* like a waterbender. aang, on the other hand, embodied airbending perfectly, while like i said above korra just felt like an earthbender/firebender.

I just finished the first season im done with this show i didn't shed no tears like i did in The last air bender like when uncle was singing when it was his sons birthday 😢. Watching this new show was like me sitting in school in third grade waiting for the time to go by so i could go home and listen to dmx and play my xbox (jetset radio)

She was soooooo cocky with her abilities! she always considered herself better than others in the since of being the avatar and she could do what she wanted when she could. also she lashes out when she doesn't get her way!! She needed to be more understanding of where her power came from. i don't think she really understood her worth as the avatar, the spiritual meaning. She used it as an opportunity to flaunt it around then go into the avatar state when she needed an extra boost. In Aangs story he had more understand with his power I feel. he really was able to understand his power and open the different chakras in the process I don't really think we get much of that from Korra.

Korra was naive and disrespectful like the entire show, and the writers made her absolutely retarded too just for the plot to advance so they created an unlikable mc. She had her good moments but her character was never consistent

christ i just finished episode 2 and its already starting to feel what you described. I dont think I can continue. When your main character is this insufferable and they get all the screentime it becomes a grind and why would I waste time grinding on something that is meant to be entertainment

I only watched LOK once and I felt 1000% the same as you. This series didn’t have any of the same vibe as ATLA and I really didn’t like it connect with any of the characters and I borderline hated Korra because she was stubborn and selfish. And like she’s from the water tribe…isn’t being adaptive and not stubborn their whole thing?!

the romance thing tbh ruined everything like if korra liked bolin so much, why did she kiss mako? and then at the same time they were all buddy buddy like immediately after. it's like they didn't take the situation srs enough when korra is so bratty and dumb

I'll always prefer Aang cause he was far more resourceful and humble. And the Bending in LOK lost the artistic sense it gave it ATLA. Like it was more about who you were fīghting and less about the art of bending.

It’s so stupid that Korra can’t connect to her past lives, the logic doesn’t make sense, I’m not talking about the logic of raava losing her connection trait I’m talking about when korra told raiko that we need your help so that we prevent urnaloq from doing that but the president said no, it’s like they say to you the world is ending press that button to save it and your like no, and if he has put some soldier and stuff urnaloq wouldn’t be able to go back to merge with vaatu so easily and korra would have been able to trap vaatu she only needed a few more seconds to do so

I completely agree, and she was just given all of those powers by the writers without doing the work as if she was just entitled to them as the avatar. For example, how she couldnt learn airbending because she was angry, forceful, cant control her emotions, lacks spiritual connection, and cant evensit for 15 minutes to try to meditate, because she gets bored. Instead of having to work through those things and have to grow as an avatar to learn airbending, after her other bending was taken away, now somehow she magically knows airbending because thats all thats left, and after the first airpunch, she is a a full airbending master with no training or discipline. Then she gets her other bending back, of course, because nothing is permenent or consequential in this show, anything harmful gets magically reversed.

I woulda rather watched a big strong black avatar than a mess of what Kora was portrayed as, embarassing to the female community. I did not enjoy how they made the characters older, attempting to target a more mature older audience. When in reality, it took away from the silly moments like they had in the original avatar.

I find the world more interesting I also find the backstory in the life that kora live versus Aang to be a major factor and why they act the way they do for example, Cora had everything basically handed to her she already knew how to bend water earth and fire at a very young age and then they built a facility around her and would bring her masters and everything that she needed and then she leaves and goes to the city and has to deal with all this political stuff that they never trained her for her background is a water bender and not being able to connect with the spiritual side and the balance in the harmony versus who was an air nomad and they talked about this stuff and some of the only political stuff that was going on was the fire lord trying to conquer the world versus Cora no one’s trying to conquer the world in the traditional war since there’s no fire nation it’s individuals and ideologies from different walks of life I also like that Aang is someone who didn’t want to be in avatar in the world that needed him and kora wants to be the avatar in the world doesn’t need or want her

The lesbian thing at the end was entirely out of left field making it a cop-out to the alphabet soup community; her character arc was flat; her constant selfishness made Aang's selfishness look selfless; and, she ultimately felt like the most side-character a main character could be. Bolin and Tenzin were more main character quality than her.

I would love a reboot with a proper story telling, Amon as a villain was going in the right direction and in the long run room for character development. a dude that takes your bending? Thats crazy and scary considering that's what the avatar stands for and they fuck it up not only by reveling his identity with a trash of a back story plus him actually being a bender instead of actually being a non bender also room for new powers but they way he loses? You literally defeated the avatar by taking 3 of bendings and you can stop Airbeiding which btw Korra didn't even knew how to use at the time and made water benders look unstoppable with the hole bloodbending. Zaheer arc was good but after that it was all a mess again not to mention the love triangle they had all the way to the end just to make her bisexual out of nowhere i mean don't get me wrong i saw the hint with the recap but like there was no build up. it was like who cheats the most which btw Mako sucks in that department and korra even more for doing that when Asumi and Mako were together. Not to mention bolin. Also who cared about Zhu Lin and this annoying dude getting merry at the end like bruuh.

there was zero character development for Korra. If we are going by reincarnation cycle, Aang excelled in the spiritual aspect of being the Avatar because of his Culture. Its only necessary and expected that Korra in this life and this cycle Struggle with becoming more in touch with her spiritual side. She disregarded Tenzin everytime with would have made the journey easier for her every fuckin time. She never got called out and truly put in her place. Every Avatar no matter what point in time has the same job. Learn the 4 elements, Become one with the spirit world/ Avatar State, and bring balance to the world. Korra had absolutely no character whatsoever. She could solely be summed up into girlboss and she never learned from her mistakes ever. Aang learned from every mistake he made and consostently showed how he changed. Korra never changed ever.

First book of Legend of Korra, was the best thing from the avatar series. The second book was very complicated and boring. Unalaq was inaffably boring and the spirit world was a huge dissapointment. In alta, It was portraid as a cryptic, dark place , but in avatar korra it was basically my little pony's hometown. While the series has great supportive characters and villains, Korra is one of the least likable persons in the series. From the beginning of the series till the end, she is a hotheaded, imature idiot. Aang at the age of 12 was more mature than her, not to mention that he did the job, while she constantly loses and takes stupid decisions.

I feel like this video would’ve digested a lot better if slowed down to .80. 1x speed feels too fast but .75 feels just a bit too slow
