1.NPS there is no standard return as mentioned ! It's market driven
2. In NPS not unlimited investment - max upto 2L in tier 1 & tier 2 unlimited
PPF comes under 80c section for tax exemption, but NPS has separate section for tax exemption. So NPS is better for those who already utilized 80c section, as it gives additional tax benefit.
Besides, there's also a TDS implication on premature withdrawal from NPS in excess of 50,000 at the rate of 5℅ other than for presciber reasons.

This video is very informative. Could you please explain about Tier 1 and Tier 2 account. Which one is best when opening NPS account ?
As a tax student, I can give my opinion on tax perspective. I'l l be glad too if they make a video on this. Tier 1 is fairly much better than Tier 2. the reason being, there's an exemption ceiling limit upto rs. 150,000 on tier 2 as it is covered under 80C. henceforth, you'll have to pay tax on the whole of the amount of your contribution if the same exceeds unlike tier 1. please note that, tier 1 contribution is covered under 80CCD which doesn't have overall limit unless it is contributed under employer employee relationship.

NPS - there is no standard interest rate for NPS, it is based on the market. Can't say 8 to 10 %. Also you can define how much amount should go to particular section
