- On a cold, winters day Daniel Woolcott headed down to the beautiful Hampshire Avon in search of its big resident chub. With a roving approach in mind, Dan arms himself with a link ledger set up, allowing him to present his bait under those rafts and overhangs where a few chub should hopefully be taking refuge.
Daniel also talks to us about his recent capture of a monster 7lb+ chub from the Thames.
Just had the evening meal enjoying a cigarette in the garage relaxing to a chilled video like this - perfect 👏👏
Dreaming of this type of fishing right now! That second take was brilliant proper explosive bite.
Love Daniel, very genuine guy always enjoy his videos ! Excellent filming from the camera man managing to catch the woodpecker ( A good brace)
Thank you very much. Glad you enjoyed it.
Some great bird footage too, cheers 👍

Inspiring stuff again from Drennan - not just the presentation and content, but the camera-work.

Lovely fish mate, really interesting video, thanks for the work and thoughts behind the story's.
Brilliant video
Great video Daniel ;)
Another great video from Daniel and Drennan! Could I ask which length Acolyte Dan was using? For anyone glancing the comments who hasn't seen it - Lampard's Way with Chub is another great watch (also on Drennan's channel). Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it. Dan was using the 11ft Acolyte plus feeder.
@@DrennanTackleTV Thank you : )
My pb 7lb knew it was on soon as I saw the tank
Lovely stuff :)
Many thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Great Film, nice to watch. Please write what kind of rod works beautifully
Glad you enjoyed it. The 11ft Acolyte plus feeder was using in this video.
Great tutorial. Can I ask what sort of length of line would be recommended between the ledger stop and the hooklink?
Glad you enjoyed it. The hooklink is fully adjustable via the gripper/float stop and the length depended on the swim Dan was fishing. A 1-2 ft hooklink was used in most swims but in those very tight, overgrown spots he changed to a few inches to reduce the chance of clipping trees ect.
@@DrennanTackleTV thanks for the reply, I'm going to give that setup a bash this weekend
Followed Daniel's tips on this video on the Avon today. Hooked and landed my PB chub of 5lb 1oz! Over the moon. Cannot explain the jubilation. Top job.
@@jimking7400 Great to hear Jim! Did you get a photo? If so send it to jack.reid@drennan.co.uk :)
@@DrennanTackleTV only just seen this reply, sorry for the delay. I'll send it
