😊 I find that the more you write poetry, the more tricks you learn! I LOVE rhyming poems. They allow me to come up with unique arrangements of words. Many times I will need a few words to mean something, but also rhyme with something else. For example, I recently wrote a rap called "Thought Cider," which is such a strange title! And it happened because I needed words that rhymed with Rottweiler. People may think rap has to be all yo yo and braggadocious, but it can also be elaborate and beautiful. My poems are my little heart puzzles. I really enjoyed this!

I'm new to you and just want to say I like it so far. I think u may possibly relate to something I'd like to share. I've been writing lyrics for 20 years, but, 2 years ago I started doing more poetry and recently horror and suspense. I had one of my stories played on a podcast, which was rewarding. I reached out to them about a story idea I had and if they would be interested in the concept. They said yes. I was so happy and started it, only to see it morph into something else entirely. It became a poetic narrative about some really personal stuff. I've grown in the craft, but feel frustrated I may have missed the opportunity, it became a moral dilemma. I ended up going with leaning into this work and letting it run free, I'm ok with waiting, as it will be the best thing I've ever written. It's been so challenging, but very rewarding. I'm competitive, especially with myself😁. Thanks for your insight.

This is amazing! I do perform spoken word poetry and it's incredibly healing. Like other kinds of writing, confidence issues does get in the way, and seeing inspiration from others does help a lot.

The man gives me roses to love.

The man gives me money to spend.
Then he met the girl and left me.
The man gives her roses to love.
The man gives her gifts to have.
The man gives her money to spend.
Then the man and the girl got married and not me.
