Wetherspoons is a bargain-basement pub chain. A friend of mine was working away from home for a few days and he said: "You know a town is a shit-hole when Wetherspoons is the most expensive place in town."

The Comedy Store was the core London venue for what was called “alternative comedy” in the 80s. So many famous Comedians emerged from there, with the main compère being the legendary Alexis Sayle
Alternative comedy=normal comedy losers thinks is edgy and controversial.

Lee Mack and Micky Flanagan are my two favourite British comedians.
Wetherspoons traditionally have a different themed meal depending on the day of the week. That meal will generally be at a better price and a more appealing set price including a drink.
Typically, Thursdays-at least for a very long time (and perhaps still)-are 'Curry Thursday'. Friday is generally 'Fish Friday', and so on.
They did last time I had a shift which was about 12 months ago...

Spoons is much derided by comedians because of its reputed daytime customer base, consisting of people, with transparent alcohol dependency making every penny count; if it was a US institution, you would imagine lots of MAGA hats. The chain has a self-publicising borderline sociopathic CEO, who is pals with Nigel Farage, called Tim Martin. Of course, much of the above is exaggerated, apart from the description of Tim Martin, which is somewhat restrained for legal reasons.

NTL (a US owned British company) which eventually merged with Virgin Media and is just Virgin Media which provides phone, cable tv and fibre broadband, he's referring to the pain in the backside we had to go through to cancel a subscription, though tbh Virgin is the same.

I've worked in two Wetherspoons kitchens. In fact it was my first job. Still don't know how to cook xD that being said, my fish and chips were the best. I hated doing the breakfasts, though. The worst part was when the bar staff ordered food on their break. Dude, seriously? xD

Wetherspoons is basically a British ‘value’ bar, can often be quite rough, relatively cheap compared to most places but things can get rowdy.
NTL was basically a TV service here in the uk well over a decade ago now, it was notoriously difficultly cancel your subscription.
Also the places he mentions he’s made love in are basically southern part of the UK (like London where’s he’s from) so those places are barely a couple hundred miles away at most.
If you consider wetherspoons 'rough' then you're a posh twat. Dozens of tougher pubs and rougher bars most towns I've been to, like anywhere with a Yates' bar. Those places are for scum.

I worked with a guy who told me about hooking up with an older woman when he was still young. He wanted to be all hot and sexy, like he’d seen in the movies, so while making out he tore her shirt off, sending buttons flying. Instead of being turned on, she was pissed he ruined her shirt, and told him to go home.
Weatherspoins is the UK's most popular pub chain. And curry Thursday is a themed day where curry is cheaper than usual and comes with a free drink.
Wetherspoons is a large British pub chain popular with working class people. People might refer to it as Wethers, or the Spoons. They are known for selling cheap beer/drink and food. They have different themes through the week, so Frday is Fish and Chips Friday, and Tuesday is Steak Tuesday.... Thursdays you get deals on curry, so, curry Thursday! The food isn't amazing, but the prices are decent and the beer is often really good (fresh cask English ales). Burger with a pint is probably the most popular deal. Another common Spoons reference is the table number; you have to walk to the bar to place an order and give the table number you're sat at, so you always see people walk to the bar and remember they didn't memorise their number, and walk back, or shout to their party across the pub "what's the number??" Then after ordering you grab a basket of condiments and walk back to your table to wait for your meal to be microwaved. NTL was a cable TV and internet company... long gone now.

The are using a test which is 97% innacurate and which the inventor of says should not be used to measure Covid. He actually started speaking out before he died a mysterious death just over a year ago.

Wetherspoons is kind of like applebees but they build and buy pubs and put them under their chain. They normally sell the cheapest drinks in town and they do food as well. Theres a set menu but each day has a different theme as well (Thursday is for curries). It's also known for being the place where all the local sad old men spend their day.
Argos is what we had before amazon. They have a big warehouse with a shop at the front with catalogues and computers. You find what you like, give the codes to the servers and they go in the warehouse and find it. It's kind of dying away now

Wetherspoons is a cheap pub where you'd get certain people queuing before it opens and have people drinking beer as soon as it opens at 11am (or whatever or it is).
It specialises in value so does promos like beer and burger for £5, Curry Thursday, Steak Tuesday etc and at one point you could get 2 drinks for £5 so the stereotypical customer is ways referred to as single mums, alcoholics, the unemployed, teens, slags, man-whores etc But tbh everyone goes wetherspoons because some of them are are actually decent and not full of dickheads lol
My local opens at 8am, one in town opens at 6am. I do like a wetherspoons but then im an unemployed, alcoholic man-whore 👍🍺
