    I absolutely loved the fact that you were able to comment on the insurance costs as well, plus the seats and how they did not have heating/cooling in the recaro seats

  • @timcollins380

    I had a 2018, I now have a 2021 in Silver with a 2022 in Eruption Green on order. All are 6 speed manual with standard seats. I came out of a BMW M3 Competition and traded "down" to a Mustang out of divorce induced financial pain. But my first Mustang was a pleasant revelation and I absolutely love the fact that I can still buy a V8 RWD Sports Coupe with a manual transmission. Thank you Ford.

    • @cj-nu4fk
      @cj-nu4fk 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      How would you compare this with your M3? pros and cons? I'm basically trying to decide between this and the M4 comp, price wise the Mustang wins hands down.

    • @timcollins380
      @timcollins380 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@cj-nu4fk The Mustang feels bigger, not quite as "immediate" as an M3. But the M3 was only enjoyable when being a hoon whereas the Mustang is enjoyable at all speeds because it sounds so amazing. I also like the Mustang for value at 40% of the price of an M3 / M4 here in Australia. Servicing is cheaper and parts are cheaper and more available. You need to drive both though. Are you looking at a new M4?

    • @cj-nu4fk
      @cj-nu4fk 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@timcollins380 cheers Tim. Yeah I've been looking at the M4 comp as the new M2 is a year away and with the options I've got in my cart, it's over 200k. Have only started considering the mustang recently given its improvements over the years (less of a plastic feel, more refined etc) and with the 40% price difference, I'm wondering if it's worth taking out for a drive before I make any decisions.

    • @timcollins380
      @timcollins380 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@cj-nu4fk I have a 2022 GT on order. AUD$70k drive away, its a hell of a lot of car for the money. I also made money on my 2018 which I bough as a dealer demo from Ford. I guess it depends on how long you intend to keep an M4. BMW shop labour rates are $250 per hour. I argued with BMW as they charged me $350 for an oil change on my M3 (I only did 6000 km in 2 years) because they said the oil could last 24,000km or 2 years according to their service schedule. It must be a new magic oil that I have never heard of before. So if you want to look after your M4, budget extra$ over and above the service "plan" which seems to be a tick and flick for the first 2 years! I found BMW to be arrogant. My local Ford dealer could not be more helpful. Shame as I always had a BMW in the garage from 1981 until 2020. Never again.

      I am also waiting for my 2nd X5 M50i. Why I chose the M50i was it has the V8 engine. You could bring your M3 to an indie mechanic for oil change.
      I saw new Mustang is coming soon and it looks awesome.

    Good review but those shorts mate!
    Having said that we don't get much call for them here in The UK. Hi to our Australian cousins and good to see you're finally breaking out of lockdown.
    Ordered a manual GT in Lucid Red, Magneride, Custom Pack 2 ( black wheels, heat/cool seats, B&O) and rear spoiler in November and it's due in May.
    Quite rare in the UK and stand out from the mass of usual German suspects. Fantastic head turning road presence and was a joy to be in on my test drive. Enjoy these beasts before they're outlawed.

Recently bought a clean skin (no stripes or spoilers) silver 2021 model and I am discovering new things every day with it, old school V8 with modern tech, best decision I have made for a long time. I guess thats why its a real GT :). Another point I would want to add that this V8 is not that bad at all when comes to fuel efficiency while driving on freeways/ highways in Australia. It doesn't really sell so well, Australian sales peaked and it's been down hill ever since.
    It could very well join its performance hatchback cousins and be cancelled in Australia..

      its still by far the best selling sportscar in the Aussie market currently. Since the Falcon and Commodore are extinct now, the mustang is one of the last RWD, manual, v8 cars you can get. Gotta wait til the market gets better, post covid

  • @bradleybprentice1497

    Ford has done such a lazy job converting to RHD. That centre console is all wrong. The hand brake and cup holders were not converted from LHD cars. Imagine attempting to use the console with the cup holders at your left elbow. A manual work be even worse! None of the switch gear has been converted. I would not buy one for the reason.

    • @Audios81
      @Audios81 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's converted by Ford for ALL RHD markets not just Australia. It's not like the real Trucks that we get here now like the Ram, Silverado or F series. This are shipped here and converted by hand in Australia. Stangs are factory made since 2014 for us. Same quality as a LHD would be lol. So no idea what you are on about.

    Don't have a offside crash at 60 k or more, your legs will be crushed. This car filed this test in ANCAP.

    What a stupid comment as long as you don’t get hit, 3 star rating is very poor these days, should not be on our roads, ford can’t even be bothered shifting the hand break closer to the driver for right hand drive market which you didn’t mention, if you have to grab the hand break you will knock over your drink

      Oi! Don't you dare talk to Aussie-Car-Enthusiast-Walter-White that way!
      You need to chill the fk out and stop trying to cancel the mustang from "our roads" soy boy.
      You're just looking for a reason to be upset. You started complaining about the ANCAP rating, then shifted quickly to cup holder positioning.
      Wtf are you on about? It's logical. Quick rhetorical for you - how often do you think people use handbrake vs using the cup holder during a trip?

    • @bernardpeel7133
      @bernardpeel7133 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well said Darren. It’s unacceptably bad. If virtually all cheap basic cars can manage a 5 star rating, its culpable that this car doesn’t have it.
      Putting aside the fact that running into anything other than a motorbike would result in me coming off second best, even out of principle I wouldn’t buy one. Slack-arse from Ford.

      Hand BRAKE! All sports cars get poor ANCAP safety ratings. Most Mustang owners won't be carrying babies, in baby seats, in the back anyway. This is NOT a family car!

  • @EnShinNoi

    I'm always amazed at how well this car sells because it's quite ugly. Testament to engine lovers that only care what's on the inside.

    • @Alby911
      @Alby911 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Do you even know what subjective means? There is no written law as to what makes a good/bad design; it's up to the individual to decide. Aside from the engine etc, part of the appeal would be the Holden vs Ford rivalry.

    • @EnShinNoi
      @EnShinNoi 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Alby911 I get your point but there are some written laws such as symmetry.

    • @Alby911
      @Alby911 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@EnShinNoi Eh? Symmetry basically means that both sides are the same if folded in half. Unless you mean proportions, then I'd probably point out that the rear has slightly too much overhang. But then the opposite goes for the AMG GT with it long snout. I dunno, I think the design of the Mustang is fairly netural; ugly is how I'd describe the Civic Type-R

    • @EnShinNoi
      @EnShinNoi 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Alby911 I didn't mean this car is not symmetrical, I meant cars in general follow that design rule. This car actually has a consistent design language from front to back that is unique to this vehicle, which is a plus. Some cars borrow too many design elements from others and end up with two ends that look like they were deisnged by completely different teams. And the the Civic Type-R is not ugly, it's fucking hideous 🤣

    I'm a product of my age, but I'll don't accept the Mustang a sports car. I grew up with true sports cars. MG, Trumph, Jaguar , AC Cobra, Corvette, Porsche, etc. We considered Mustang & Camaro, "Sporty cars ".
