He is an artist, not a GQ model so don't bash him for trying to teach you. You are here for the art...Some of you should look into the mirror. Have respect. Love what you are doing. Love the work. Thank you.
I am pretty sure everyone loves that suit, and he wears an obscenely large gold nugget ring sometimes... It is his loud style. I like the glasses too. And of course, the painting is amazing, effortless and quick.
Absolutely brilliant Mr Lowell. Thank you for explaining everything. You are a master teacher and artist. As relaxing as meditation. I think I can paint if I follow you step by step. I will continue to watch your videos .
You are so generous with your superb teaching Tom, Sir. Thanks so very much ,Alexander Art ,for letting us learn from masters like the likes of Lowell Speers and , of course, from the immortal master, Bill Alexander himself.
I've never painted Florals and be happy with them. I have more trouble with the techniques as well as colors. This guy makes it look so easy I just want to jump through the camera..
This technique is not as easy (for me) as it looks, though Lowell Speers is one of the better art tutors on TH-cam. He does take the trouble to explain and demonstrate his brush strokes and to emphasize the areas where problems might occur. I really enjoy his tutorials and practising his methods.
2:17 "Simple bristle brush" in the beginning 5:50 Looks like a 1" bristle brush 9:20 Looks like a 2" or 2½" bristle brush 10:05 "I have here a Red Sable-brush" 15:55 "We use the same brush [as in the beginning], but a smaller one. It's a bristle brush - -" 23:06 "We go back to the leaf-brush, the one we used to do all the leaves." So Red Sable-brush 23:24 "I've got a liner-brush here" 24:16 "Right now I'm cleaning the Red Sable-brush - - " So when exactly did he not tell what kinds of brush he was using? :)
1st i discovered Bob's vids, then Bill's and now Lowell Speers, i have never been interested or even attempted to learn to paint on a canvas but for some strange reason i have watched most of Bobs and Bills vids now im into watching this Lowell Speers?? what is it with these artists that are so addictive
They create something from nothing, using only their souls and encouraging us to do the same. Whereas most people we're told to admire tell us they're better than us because of things they have, things we will never achieve
oh that jacket and the shades! Would LOVE it if AA could put the dates of shooting or airing on these videos. The "info" here is generic and doesn't even speak of the artist. Nowell seems a bit rigid here, like he's not comfy with the camera yet. I'll bet it's an earlier work than most that I've seen here.
I believe this aired in 1987 “Art of William Alexander & Lowell Speers” [the one where they filmed outdoors] Lowell became a regular in this series; whereas in the season before he appeared for maybe 3 episodes “Art of William Alexander” 1st series Lowell Speers & Diane Andre appeared but were mentioned at the end of the opening credits as guest painters if memory serves me
Jst awesome learnt a lot now waiting to try but i am sure mine will not be anywhere near.thank you for this detailed lesson u explain each stroke tat is why it all seems so easy.Bless you.🙏🙏
No, Gesso is an acrylic based paint and Magic White is oil based. For Gesso, Bill just used flat latex paint from the hardware store. You can find magic white on our website store.alexanderart.com/collections/mediums/products/medium-alexander-magic-white
Mi fa commuovere per la sua tecnica veloce ma allo stesso tempo cptensibilissima anche se non comprendo la sua lingua complimenti al autore bravissimo sasil di brescia
painting with sunglasses on... what a style
Well we weren’t happy about it lol. He had transitional lenses and we were painting outside so they went dark. He does look stylish though.
Absolute mad lad for painting in a blazer 😤
It's a pleasure to see Lowell painting and a privilege to learn from him. Thanks so much.

I also appreciate his courage to wear it while painting
I see no negative comments but this

Fantastic lesson, very detailed and concise. Thank you❤
I'm digging the 1980's coke dealer look...🤣
Oh God How I wish I had just some of his talent!👏👏
He may look like a Druglord villian in a A-Team episode, but dammit if he isnt a great painter!
Beautiful work. Thanks for sharing and guiding. Much appreciated

Lowell Speers, a master painter wearing sunglasses while painting and dropping his brush paints very ordinary florals. But he does not fail.
Amazing paint .Thank you

I wish there was an HD video of this
I didn’t know Jeff Lynne painted happy trees too.
Dude I couldn't put my finger on it right on
He also does stunts for Conner McGregor

Simply amazing!
Can you use these same techniques for acrylic painting?
So gorgeous
Hola soy de Chile, hermosos sus trabajos en este arte. Existe posibilidad de escuchar o leer lo que usted enseña en español?. Saludos 🌺👋🌷
Amazing! I'd be grateful to know what type of brush you're using! Thank you!
Yes I agree he failed on that IMO.

Magic White is a thin based oil medium. It has no thinners or harmful solvents.
Just superb job.
Lindo lindo. Parabéns e gratidão. Deus abençoe-o
Is magic white the same as gesso? What should I look for on Amazon?
No, Gesso is an acrylic based paint and Magic White is oil based. For Gesso, Bill just used flat latex paint from the hardware store. You can find magic white on our website store.alexanderart.com/collections/mediums/products/medium-alexander-magic-white
