Matthew 6:33 Running away from lust is a good idea from Paul, but running away to what? It's something I asked when I started my journey. I run to my bible. Chapters/books that help in those situations. Prayer and speaking to God. To me, it's really a mental thing with men. This verse is one I always hold dear in any difficult situation.
You're 100% correct. We can't just run with no direction because lust will always catch up to us. Run to the Lord and he will keep you safe. "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it" 1 Corinthians 10:13.

The moment you're not strictly focused on Jesus and His word then it's very easy to fall into sin. No excuses imo.

I also found that I have been "over-crediting" my sinfulness and did not have the urge to fight back the desires. I still sadly struggle but the big thing I realized is that God's power is bigger than my sinfulness and He can do anything in us to make each one of us as a man of God. We must believe that He is mightier.
We have to be born again to overcome lust. We can't do this on our own. Let go of your attachment to sin and pray to God to help you change in the name of Jesus. We can all be set free, but you have to want it. God will not grace you with the Holy Spirit if you still cling onto your precious sin. This is because we have free will. So ask and it shall be given to you. I have seen a miracle unfold in my life and I know you will too.

These last few weeks have been extremely challenging for me since I have been reborn! Especially when it comes to lust! I haven’t acted on it but Satan has put it in front of me. I have prayed for Jesus to give me a way out and He has. I can instantly feel the lust go away. It comes back but Jesus definitely takes it away.
I have the Holy Spirit. I have felt Jesus presence several times in the past years. I don’t understand why I cannot overcome lust. I DO NOT FEEL LIKE I have the backdoor to flee from lust. I do not feel like I have the fair chance to overcome lust. I don’t feel it. I do not wanna end up in hell.
If you know you're about to sin, get on ur knees and pray to Jesus to help you take away your lust He will take away those thoughts Satan can't get you if you dont have those temptations on ur mind

I became born again Christian four years ago. I struggled with lust as well. Jesus helped me overcome it, I have no desire for it, but as David was saying here, the temptations can still attack us. I did slip as well, but Jesud brought me back to Him. The Lord is so sweet and merciful to help us overcome sin and desires of the flesh. Yes, Jesus has won, but there are still battles that we as warriors for Jesus Christ need to fight daily in His Holy Spirit. Side note: David, can you do a video on how a man following Jesus Christ should properly pursue a woman? Because it's been such a struggle for me as a lady. Many guys have tried pursuing me but don't do it properly in the Lords way. If I don't like them a certain way, they ditch me as a human being like I never existed. And yes these are guys that go to church. The Lord has called me out of the false church system of today, but still its difficult to be open my heart to a man that doesn't have his heart, truly on Jesus.

When I become born again, I was also completely free from every bondage. And i was half a year free from masturbation. Then i did a huge mistake and relapsed badly. Yep, it's the work of the Holy Spirit. You'll become aware, feel the guilt, and want to repent each time you are about to sin. The flesh still desires those things, but if you obey God, you will flee it. Focusing on God and pushing through my workouts helped me a lot. It's funny because now I understand the pattern, satan is so cunning!! The key is to trust God, practice semen retention for God, and sustain the faith by understanding His words. Women are beautiful creatures, but nowadays I'm honestly disgusted sometimes, even for the ''christian'' ones. It's a real battle out there😑. In terms of the gym, I felt convicted by the LORD to personally to leave the gyms all together since it was best for me to keep myself away from even being around tempation. And in terms of ideas if you want to stay away as best as possible try to work out at home or around the block and if you go work out outdoors go to some stairs, track or somewhere just do your research and try to see where there's less people to not run into temptation especially because women nowadays show like 80% of their skin you don't want to play around with that temptation! The LORD bless yall!
I love that rather than advocating for a works based salvation, you preach the truth of the transformation by being born again in Christ and the biggest distinction I personally feel speaks to believing in Jesus vs being born again is in believing He died for our sins once and for all AND in choosing to pick up our cross, ask Jesus into our heart and submit our bodies and will to Him so that HE may perfect us. I believe this is when He pulls us from the world and the transformation begins and ends with His sacrifices and BECOMES evident by the fruits of the changes in our lives that He created. So a fruitless Christian likely hasn't made that choice of sacrificing their will and body to Christ and we should pray for one another that rather than just believing, we believe in His will over our own and ASK Jesus to rule our hearts, thoughts, words and actions. We will never be perfect, but all Jesus wants is our hearts and for us to surrender our will to His :) He will do the rest of the work once we give Him permission and the impossible feats suddenly become effortless because HE has already conquered sin for us!
I felt like I was reading my own thoughts there. Very well said. I've been trying to preach this and explain it to those confused about what works based salvation really means. The concept of works based salvation will never apply to those who have already fully submitted to Christ and received the gift of the Holy Spirit. We just go on to let the Holy Spirit guide our actions, because we're changed now and we know the truth. We see sin for the lie that it really is. Any amount of pleasure we could find in it wouldn't be worth grieving the Holy Spirit and ourselves.

I just became christian a month ago, and before that, i watched porn. When i wasn't christian, i was red pilled and knew it was a bad thing, and i just wanted to try it out. Well i got addicted and now even as a christian i strugle with it i have been on no fap for 6 days (my longest time since i started watching porn) and i can overcome the urges during the day but when im laying in my bed before i sleep i just cant get rid of the thoughts and i keep getting bad sleeps every night because all i can think about is porn. Have any advice (i need my phone for an alarm)
I'm kinda new to this too but, stuff that worked out for me to stop the lustful thoughts at night before sleep is working out. Working out gets you very tired and can help because all u are thinking when tired is going to sleep. And praying, not just a quick pray but like a 5 to 7 min praying session, basically praying from the heart talking to the lord and just telling him what's on your heart. 1 Peter 5:7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

I became born again Christian four years ago. I struggled with lust as well. Jesus helped me overcome it, I have no desire for it, but as David was saying here, the temptations can still attack us. I did slip as well, but Jesud brought me back to Him. The Lord is so sweet and merciful to help us overcome sin and desires of the flesh. Yes, Jesus has won, but there are still battles that we as warriors for Jesus Christ need to fight daily in His Holy Spirit.
Side note: David, can you do a video on how a man following Jesus Christ should properly pursue a woman? Because it's been such a struggle for me as a lady. Many guys have tried pursuing me but don't do it properly in the Lords way. If I don't like them a certain way, they ditch me as a human being like I never existed. And yes these are guys that go to church. The Lord has called me out of the false church system of today, but still its difficult to be open my heart to a man that doesn't have his heart, truly on Jesus.

Yep, it's the work of the Holy Spirit. You'll become aware, feel the guilt, and want to repent each time you are about to sin. The flesh still desires those things, but if you obey God, you will flee it. Focusing on God and pushing through my workouts helped me a lot. It's funny because now I understand the pattern, satan is so cunning!! The key is to trust God, practice semen retention for God, and sustain the faith by understanding His words. Women are beautiful creatures, but nowadays I'm honestly disgusted sometimes, even for the ''christian'' ones. It's a real battle out there😑. In terms of the gym, I felt convicted by the LORD to personally to leave the gyms all together since it was best for me to keep myself away from even being around tempation. And in terms of ideas if you want to stay away as best as possible try to work out at home or around the block and if you go work out outdoors go to some stairs, track or somewhere just do your research and try to see where there's less people to not run into temptation especially because women nowadays show like 80% of their skin you don't want to play around with that temptation! The LORD bless yall!
I love that rather than advocating for a works based salvation, you preach the truth of the transformation by being born again in Christ and the biggest distinction I personally feel speaks to believing in Jesus vs being born again is in believing He died for our sins once and for all AND in choosing to pick up our cross, ask Jesus into our heart and submit our bodies and will to Him so that HE may perfect us. I believe this is when He pulls us from the world and the transformation begins and ends with His sacrifices and BECOMES evident by the fruits of the changes in our lives that He created. So a fruitless Christian likely hasn't made that choice of sacrificing their will and body to Christ and we should pray for one another that rather than just believing, we believe in His will over our own and ASK Jesus to rule our hearts, thoughts, words and actions. We will never be perfect, but all Jesus wants is our hearts and for us to surrender our will to His :) He will do the rest of the work once we give Him permission and the impossible feats suddenly become effortless because HE has already conquered sin for us!
I felt like I was reading my own thoughts there. Very well said. I've been trying to preach this and explain it to those confused about what works based salvation really means. The concept of works based salvation will never apply to those who have already fully submitted to Christ and received the gift of the Holy Spirit. We just go on to let the Holy Spirit guide our actions, because we're changed now and we know the truth. We see sin for the lie that it really is. Any amount of pleasure we could find in it wouldn't be worth grieving the Holy Spirit and ourselves.

The only way to overcome the flesh is by submitting yourself to the Word of God and Holy Spirit. Without reading the word of God and applying it to our own lives without allowing the Holy Spirit to manifest we cannot simply overcome that sin

I just became christian a month ago, and before that, i watched porn. When i wasn't christian, i was red pilled and knew it was a bad thing, and i just wanted to try it out. Well i got addicted and now even as a christian i strugle with it i have been on no fap for 6 days (my longest time since i started watching porn) and i can overcome the urges during the day but when im laying in my bed before i sleep i just cant get rid of the thoughts and i keep getting bad sleeps every night because all i can think about is porn. Have any advice (i need my phone for an alarm)
I'm kinda new to this too but, stuff that worked out for me to stop the lustful thoughts at night before sleep is working out. Working out gets you very tired and can help because all u are thinking when tired is going to sleep. And praying, not just a quick pray but like a 5 to 7 min praying session, basically praying from the heart talking to the lord and just telling him what's on your heart. 1 Peter 5:7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
