I just use a mic and use the record on Mac and then edit the video!

How big does the stables need to be?
the minimum that I've personally heard is 8x8 for swim horses. But if you're just making a barn for genetic horses or vanilla I do a minimum if 6x6. the ones in this barn I believe are 8x8 and 10x10!
