The one in 08th MS Team was a prototype. The RGM-79[E] GM Early Type. It was designed base off of what was initially learned from the Gundam and to see how it would handle in space environment since the RGM-79[G] GM Ground Type were already being produced and being sent to the troops on the frontline on Earth. It essentially a GM Kai without the Katoki details on the shoulders, forearms, skirts, and legs. You do get to see the GM Kais during Operation Star One in MS Igloo, alongside with the regular GM, Ball, and Ball Type K.
Ah. I just bought mine fron Ebay with a Gelgoog Jaeger. This is gonna be great. Now I just need the Gelgoog type Cs to swim around long enough in the market to be able to purchase them fkr a reasonable price. I ain't blowing over 100 dollars over a simple Gelgoog with a few spare parts.

I wish Tamashii Nations would revamp the GM Cold Districts type to the quality of the 0083 Stardust Memories line. This GM Type C is looking awesome.
