Just got done watching the 75 bobber drop series awesome videos guys cant wait till steelhead season i did my first 2 river trips in march and April this yr and am absolutely addicted to the river fishing hopefully I can hook up with you guys over the winter 🎣
Nice fishes guys!!! What line and leader do you use? Will 10lb braid with 6lb fluoro leader work if I fish small creeks (2ft deep and full of steelhead)
@@sbsoutdooraction3055 thank you. The creek I fish in is pretty shallow and they show up in the spring and fall. The deepest it gets is 2ft and you can see their fins above the water. Any heavier line seems to spook them there
i have zero experience with skam summer steelies out there. im from pa. When it's that warm, do you keep them all so they don't die of exhaustion from higher water temps?
All depends on water temperature, but yes in general it’s better to keep summer runs due to high mortality from the hot water. Mid to low 60s and under you can typically release them if done quickly
Well I am finally moved here to Michigan I came here from Arkansas now I get to learn where all these spots are it will be fun it's not the destination but the journey right guys
Seeing that it was 80 degrees at 5 am,what is the water temp on that small trib?Kinda think some of those fish could die from heat stress.Could be spring fed?
Gottya, that's the best thing to do.No waste. We used to have a good Skamania run on the Salmon River in Pulaski N.Y.They would summer in the 2 Fly Zones. They had natural cold springs.Opening day was always September 15 th.Any egg pattern was killer.Unfortunately that program is done, and Skams now come in the fall sometimes with the Kings.
Awsome vid. Know your super experienced but a little peice of advice is put a big more weight on your set up. Float is not quite sitting properly and whobbels a lot more when not riding properly
Im a young angler and Seen you walking around the river, and was wondering what kind of center pin rod do you guys use, i’ve been thinking to get a center pin. Thank you
These small creeks look like fun, wish we had them where I’m at.🤘🏽

I watch all your videos, but thank you for waiting to post. Posting a video the same day or week isn't cool on a tiny river. Ill sub now...
Do you run spawn bags or beads or both depending on the river or situations.
Ya we run a little bit of everything, depending on what river situations are
where is this located at?

I was wondering if you can tell me what to use 8 have never fished for summer steelhead

what do you guys use for summer steelhead
Depends on the day. Mainly bags beads or shrimp
Great content as always! Does water temp affect when you fish the river?
@@zedimmer4336 thanks! Water temp isn’t anything we live and die by, but definitely plays a role in how active fish are
Another one 😀👌
Anotha one 🔑
Is it too late for more pier action?
wondering the same thing
Never too late for pier action
Great video as usual guys. Question? Is there a big difference in the fight of the summer scams and the spring steelies
