I was on a no make-up buy this year … it lasted a week. I don’t have a rational explanation for buying the same shade multiple times 🤣🤣 I’m limiting myself now to what fits in a box I have … no drawers for me! Love this video Michele !!!

I watched several of your declutters over the years and always have one question: those old/limited edition, etc. products that you have a lot. Why don't you make a stand/some shelves, etc. where you put collectable, but unusable makeup so it wouldn't be in your everyday makeup collection?
Your declutter videos are so relaxing and oddly, cathartic. Thank you for sharing a piece of your world with us.
I just started donating my time to a place in Seattle that empties out nice lipstick containers that have been donated. Then they’re clean and sanitized and refilled with Chapstick and then given to teens in foster care. They just expanded to helping women shelters as well. I wouldn’t expect you to send those all the way to Washington but if you’re interested I’ll gladly do the homework to see if there is a charity wherever you’re located that does similar?
I hope Michelle gets in contact with you! I love watching M's videos but this one hurt me a little bit when I think about the environmental impact of her job. I'd love to be able to see this packaging get reused if possible

I donate my used lipsticks to a woman’s shelter. After I sanitize the lipstick, I take a sterile knife and I cut off 1/4”. Then I wipe down the bullet. I wonder if other people do that as well? Even for my own lipsticks, I cut off the tip if I feel like it needs to be cleaned.
Wow!! You certainly DID purge! My favorite thing is the sped up footage because I love the clickety clack sound of the tubes going into the drawers!!

It would be really cool to see, when you need to declutter an old lipstick but know you love the color, what other lipsticks you have in your collection are very close to that color, and how the finishes and feel of those lipsticks vary. I know you’re not necessarily trying to be a makeup minimalist, so it wouldn’t be an exercise in not repurchasing the original bullet, but it’d be a neat opportunity to compare different brands against each other.
We are all quarantined and feeling lousy, this video is such a gift!

Once again I have learned valuable information from your videos. I did not know I needed to swatch a lipstick and then smell the swatch on my skin to know if a lipstick is past it's prime. I put the lesson to the test and found a number of lipsticks that needed to be tossed. I also learned some new shades I'd like to try from your decluttering process. Fabulous.

Beauty youtubers are allowed to own a huge collection because it's their job but for the rest of us, we should be mindful of the amount of makeup we own. It is a very wasteful industry in general, we often don't use up fully all the makeup we own & end up tossing huge amounts of makeup when it goes bad. Makeup don't lasts. So just own what you will be able to finish. That way we don't pollute the environment.
I love watching you do these and yes, I'm still catching up on the ones I've missed. It's a make-up lovers heaven.

Great declutter video, Michele!! But your lipstick collection is so overwhelming!! I wouldn’t even know how to decide on what lipstick to wear on any given day!!! I have about 40 lip products (lipsticks, glosses, balms, etc) and I need to do a declutter because that’s too many products for me to deal with.

I love how we title these makeup declutter videos as “savage” or “cutthroat”, as if it’s like each lip product is a gladiator, fighting for its life, lol!! Totally weird, random thought, I know. OMG Michele - I did this a couple of weeks back with all my makeup. I was hoarding a bunch of LE makeup I bought (that I NEVER wore!), so it had to go. These declutter videos are ASMR!
I would have the assistant depot the old product from the packaging you like - you can have an art piece made using the packaging that brings you joy aka the ones you like. Seriously, it’s a thing - also great way to upcycle/ extend the life of all all the plastic, resin and glass product that the beauty industry generates.
This encouraged me to go over and “swatch and smell” all of the old lipsticks I was holding onto! Woof! I have a couple to repurchase too!

Since Covid and having to wear masks, I rarely wear colored lipsticks anymore because it gets all over my mask and then my face…all these beautiful lip products going to waste😥
I have a Lisa Eldridge’s mat lipstick and it doesn’t stain my mask, so it is the only one that I wear when I have a mask on my face, or a clear lip balm if I am in the rush.
I wear it all at home bc i spent money. Its getting used.
I threw out 3 lipsticks in 2020 as it was old & off. Then I bought just one lipstick that year, I used it as blusher instead, lol. I'll wait for the govt (in Singapore) to declare the end of mask, and celebrate it by buying a bright red lipstick. Eagerly waiting for the day to arrive
Try the 3M Aura FFP2 mask, it is stiff and doesn't touch the mouth. I wear lipstick all the time :)

I've just decluttered my wardrobe and my shoe collection. It was long overdue as I've just ordered new clothes. I don't actually have that much make up tbh but I had a lot of old clothes and shoes I needed to get rid off. I don't really wear lipstick but I do wear lip gloss. Must say Michelle, you inspired me to finally do it as I kept postponing it. Love your decluttering videos 🤩😍😘

I just did a lip declutter. Got rid of so many . Take the caps of the ones you're throwing out and give them away. An organization is collecting them . They melt them and make benches from them.

To declutter means to get rid of. If it’s gently used of new Michelle passes it along. If used or expired she will throw it out. 😊
