If it makes you feel better, Discord may have lost the battle, but he did save his friends by trapping Bill back in his home dimension, now unable to escape without help.

This was the best episode of the season and more importantly one of if not the best death battles in the shows history it's such a Love letter to both of the shows and to the community of death battle. Great Reaction kp

this fight was wild like Extremely wild was so hyped when they announced going to the next battle I literally can't stop thinking of it I had to put a calendar on it so when the day come got my cousin so Watch it with me Best one 20/10 the puppet one was my second favorite scene my first was when bill rip his eye out pull discord and discord saving the day even if died he went with a laugh what a wonderful battle
please dont take thing the wrong way because its not just you but i have no clue how NO ONE notices Bill Literally crush Discord to DUST, atomizes him in his hand after getting trapped in the nightmare dimention
but yeah Bill won deathbattle because the winner is who survives, but discord saved everyone so won the war
It’s mainly because of the affects, I didn’t even notice Discord died because it was obscured by the giant magic pulse and sound affect. I initially thought it was a draw, with Discord tricking Bill back into the Nightmare Realm and him returning back to Equestria

That was my first Death Battle and still my favorite. Wish Discord would have won, but... I'm not mad
Discord is not dead for forever he can come back but it’ll take time to do so
The hilarious thing is, Bill is going to be even more raging when he realises he hasn't really beaten Discord and that he loses either way.
He needs another being's help to escape his Home Dimension, but Discord does not suffer such a disadvantage.
So long as there is Chaos in any sense, Discord can come back.
Bill won the battle, but Discord won the war😂
And Bill could escape again by simply tricking another no brainer and stop making "discord won the war thing" its everywhere, plus we don't know how long Discord can come back, so Bill won by knockout.
Bill can torment any other dimension it's just this particular one he is fixated on, he wins end of.
neither of them would end up losing. bill is the embodiment of an idea and discord exists as long as chaos exists.

to be fair because neither could really kill the other, Discord knew this so he trapped Bill back in the nightmare realm and let Bill kill him as a big middle finger to him, because so long as there's chaos Discord can just reform and because he is able to time travel and travel through different dimensions more freely than Bill all he has to do is reform then travel back to the point after the battled ended.
yeah neither of them can really be killed considering bill is the physical embodiment of an idea and discord exists as long as chaos exists.

i think that your idea is ok, but you need to pull away from your comfort zone as a creator and expand your content further. otherwise you'll continue to see a shrinking number of views and less opporunities to advance in the animation field
I’m sure the DB wasn’t fully thought out. I think the age range for MLP’s target audience is why they ruined this DB. It’s discord he can control reality. Bill can only manipulate it.

I just want to say I really like this battle, it's my 3rd favorite of the season, and i think it is probably the best animated sprite battle they have done. However I don't agree with the results and don't think their explanation was the best especially compared to other battles i felt they went into more detail like Goku vs Superman 3.
Here's an abridged version of my reasons
Their reasoning for Bill being able to destroy souls feels questionable. Since he's only done that in Stan's mind where Stan himself says you can do anything in which is proven correct when Dipper is able to hurt Bill when he wouldn't usually be able to do that. The fact that Bill was unable to completely kill Time Baby since one of the codes mentions that the Time baby was regenerating his physical body with no mention of soul to me tells me Bill can't destroy souls outside of the mindscape.
Discord should have spiritual regeneration. In Discordant harmony him acting normal was stated to be destroying him as stated by the episode itself and would have killed him. Discord was shown to be able to survive without a body, so it had to have been damaging his soul as well. Discord was able to heal from the chaos around him by Shy and she just messed up the room a little. A battle between him, Bill, and during Weirdmageddon would heal any damage Bill does to him both physical and spiritual.
I don't agree that Discord would just goof off in the battle. Much like what they said about Bill Discord only acts that way to people below him in power and even then he'll take precautions against them like he did when he broke the mane six friendship in Return of Harmony. Against those who are either equal or potentially greater in power like Chaos Pinkie or Cosmos he will take them very seriously and does not goof off the same would be done with Bill.
I would also argue Discord has more experience fighting other beings that can match him in power like Chaos Pinkie and Cosmos where Bill hasn't been shown fighting anyone near his power since Time Baby wasn't much of a fight.
Also I do agree with you that Bill's anger should have been accounted for a weakness of Bill since it nearly screwed him over 2 times before it finally killing him in the third time. Discord is a pro at pissing people off and would take advantage of Bill's anger.
Discord has at least 2 ways to deal with Bill that Bill has no defenses against:
1. Discord can just trap Bill back into the Nightmare Realm. Discord has shown proficiently in traveling to several different dimensions and closing portals. So Discord could literally send Bill back to the nightmare realm where Bill would be trapped unless he tricks someone else int opening a portal that would let him out. Bill has no real defenses that could stop Discord from doing that. Unorthodox yeah, cheap way to win definitely, would Discord do that Eyup.
2. Discord has memory erasure and Bill has shown to be affected and even killed by it. Unlike the animation Discord doesn't even need to go into Bill's mind to do it. He's been shown being able to memory wipe people outside of their bodies. He can just sit back and watch Bill's mind burn with a bag of popcorn. Even if you want to argue Bill's physical body is somehow immune to which has never been stated anywhere Discord should be able to force Bill into his mind and erase his own mind to kill him.

I was thinking "Wait for it." Although I still disagree with there prediction. Bill was injured 2 time I remember 1 T-rex bit to the eye, and spray paint to the eye. Discord injury list King Sombra... wait no faked injury to help Twilight and her friends pony up to beat King Sombra.
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one
If it's any consolation, I've discovered that Bill can't really eradicate spirits. 1st off, the two guys weren't spirits they were figments of Mabel's imagination brought to life by Bill they were never real or alive to begin with. 2nd that was something only in the mindscape. Dipper and Mabel also were able to do that stuff in the mindscape and only in the mindscape so the same rule probably applies to Bill. Lastly they weren't spirits they were subconscious (I think). If Bill really could eradicate spirits he would've eradicated Dipper when he turned him into a spirit. So Bill couldn't have killed Discord like that.
While it’s difficult to say what they are, mind space or whatever, it’s still essentially their essences. And Bill was planning on destroying them, so wether or not it’s their soul or minds doesn’t really change anything
He can, they are for all intents purposes meant to be souls. Or at least that universes equivalent

@@BlueEyesSilverWolf Bill pulled Dipper straight out of his body, and was said even if Bill had succeeded in killing off him, Dippers “astral form” (Journal 3) would’ve been stuck in the mindscape forever.
And either way it’s meant to be their essence, as that was Bill’s whole state of being before he gained a physical body. Even if you argue otherwise, in the fight it doesn’t really matter as as long as Bill can destroy Discords astral projection he would win
@mt-qe2dl Yeah, killing Dipper's physical body, even if the spirit was trapped in the mindscape, it still would've lived.
