Just an extra tip, if you use the cardboard 2x2 coin flips and put them in binders, you really don't need staples. The coins stay in place if you use the binder pages. That way, they're easier to get out and replace them 😀
2:55 I've done an experiment recently, and it turned out that the so called PVC damage isn't caused by just the PVC, I've put worthless, but completely new coins into polyethylene (PE) foil and they turned green, so PE also can damage your coins just like PVC, because they can contain plasticizers which makes them more flexible, but it also can make some alloys corrode.
The Whitman and Littleton coin books fit perfectly into a quartz size food saver bag. You can then vacuum seal the bag and keep them air tight and they're see through.
Very informative video very well explained you hit on it because I am a new collector. However how would I handle a 1965 uncirculated copper penny from it's original roll without damaging them so I can put them in these types of holders Thank You in advance
OK, now I'm kind of upset... was going through my watch later list & saw this video... how the heck did I miss watching it for a year!?!??? Excellent and very useful information! Something I've been doing is to reuse the reclosable penny boxes as a way to store coins in envelopes.
I prefer the tubes and air tights. I want to get the vinyl pages too. You put in some great tips on all ways to keep a person's coins safe. Thanks so much for doing this video for new and old collectors. Love you two. ATB
I have a insane amount of random coins just regular coins. I want to sort and store them. I don’t wanna display them just store them. If I can’t use folders because acid or plastic tubs because of pvc. Where the frickin heck do I frickin put them?!
Depends what coins, what era your interested in, Roman and medieval pennies are really cheap , ie Edward 1st of England under £10 on Ebay , loads of them, & Roman silver and copper alloy coins for under £15 ( English pounds) for average condition hammered coins , I think they're a bargain considering those Roman are over 1500 yrs old.
I am trying to put together a high grade indian head cent album grades between AU - MS coins, I was wondering how safe would they be in a dansco coin album? Would they tone? and how easy would it be to get dirt and dust in the plastic cover? Thanks ~!
Is it best to have nickels quarters dimes etc. all in their own binders? Or Should I just use one binder for all my coins like I have been doing? I am not using a coin specific binder
Question: i have a binder full of Avery sheet protectors Is there a way that I can use this to store coins? will it damage them at all? Thanks for any help!
Howdy there JB How do you catalog your collections? Or say keep a written document on what you have? Curious cause I have been looking in a Whitman catalog for a record book, or something? However , now you just gave me answers to how to do my new but old quarter collection ! Plot twist!
You know that was a very interesting walk-through of all the different storage options! How do you know if your coin flips have PVC or anything that you buy for your coins? I have several different things practically everything you showed and I have looked through all the items and don’t see PVC or any indication that it’s there or not so how do I really know? Do I wait till my coin turns green? LOL I see that there is no live stream today, which means that you guys probably aren’t feeling well yet! I hope everything is OK because I worry and my blood pressure is already high! Mrs. B I am praying for you that you get well soon! Praying for you as well J but I’m really worried about Mrs. B! Get well soon and I really hope everything is OK and I hope your dad is fine as well! Hope to see you guys soon!
Any suggestions on how to store roman denarii, which are far more irregular than American coins?

W I found that current plastic bags with the zippers do not have PVC and they have a really small snack size bag to use.
Thanks very helpful. Use a number of the methods you showed. Wish to eventually use the big books for collections. 😊
