I am surprised he was able to get off by himself, I just got back from a cruise with my 15 year granddaughter on Carnival, she happen to be in front of me and they would accept her boarding card, I had to be scanned first and confirmed she was actually with me. So sad, I hope they find him soon,
Same situation on Royal Caribbean. I took two sets of 13 year old nieces (2008 & 2014). They ABSOLUTELY could not leave the ship without me. Had my grandsons with me (2022), as we departed the ship at our ports, I had to go first thru security then my grandsons. Each time crew would ask them “How are you related to her (me)? “She’s our grandma”.
Used a luggage service once. Did not mind packing in advance. Took a carry on with clothes for several days beforecruise. When we got to our room, our luggage was already there. Did not want to deal with a lot of suitcases in NY. Was very happy with service and would use again.
Which ny terminal was it brooklyn cruise terminal or Manhattan? I’m asking because I live in nyc I booked an nyc embarkation. For the first time usually I fly to Florida
We use a luggage delivery service. They pick it up at our home, and we wont see itvagain until we get on the ship in Rome. It is so worth it! No customs etc. we loved it.
20 + years ago I had an idea for shipping baggage, it was called Baggage Bee Express, the idea was to ship baggage with UPS FedEx and DHL you would be able to have it scanned shrink wrapped or placed in a special protective clear bag with GPS location tracking from anywhere, it would be for hotel, resort, you would know your luggage has arrived before you, cruises and flexable independent travel. Anyway it was an idea. People with expensive luggage or special needs or large traveling groups. Your could do one way or round trip. It was just an idea to make your travel experience better. 😂
I wouldn't be comfortable saying goodbye to my luggage 5 days before sailing and wondering if my luggage will make it to the ship. I can see multiple problems with the service, especially when they are servicing more than one ship. Who knows where my luggage will end up, and how will I get it back if it goes missing.
I bought luggage tracker for this reason. If the service provides a guarantee & insurance, like how your credit card will cover expenses if your luggage is lost, then it might be worth it since it's cheaper than what airlines are charging nowadays.
Luggage Service: I normally pay $50 a bag for my flight. I would consider this new service. I have no problem packing in advance. for my check-in luggage.
(B) Also, regarding the luggage service, we used a luggage service years ago on a long European cruise. We were going to be spending several days in the departure port pre-cruise and several more in additional locations post cruise. We didn't want to drag the big suitcases with us the whole trip, so we sent the large ones to the ship with dress clothes and such and used roll-aboards for the rest of our travels. It worked out really well and we'd do it again in a heartbeat.
Thanks for your video and I hope they find that boy in Germany. I don’t understand how he can get away from someone when he was supposed to be with his grandmother what was she doing? No one was paying attention to him, but it’s neither here or there and prayers go out to all those people in the path of that hurricane🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I have used a luggage shipping service called Ship Sticks that took my bags directly to the resort where we stayed. I was taking my elderly father and thought it would be easier for us not to drag large bags around. We did have to have the bags picked up one week in advance and they took a week to be delivered home. My fathers bag was damaged upon return and they refused to make good on paying for damages even though they advertised insurance on luggage was included
I would choose none of those ports to visit due to safety concerns. But, if I HAD to choose one, I would choose Mexico. Prayers to Aydin and his family that he will be located. 🙏🏼
As for the luggage service, I think it’s definitely worth a try. My husband and I used to Federal Express our luggage to the hotel and everything was perfect every time. I even had Amazon deliver a pair of shoes to the hotel one time. It worked great. FedEx was a little costly, but my mind was at ease and we chose to have our bags packed and given to FedEx 4 to 5 days prior to arrival to the hotel. Zero headaches and smooth traveling at the airport going and coming back.
For my Alaska cruise next year I’m going to use Luggage Forward to ship my 2 larger bags directly to my ship while I carry my carry on and personal item. I had a stroke a couple of years ago, which affected my balance, so trying to lug bags as I used to is now out of the question. Luggage Forward has been around about 20 years, so I’m going with them. Alaska packaging is extraordinary to begin with, so I will be packed WAY ahead, ship the bags and 🤞🏼 see them in my cabin before embarkation. It’ll be expensive but I’m building that into my budget; I’ll s as also have things shipped on disembarkation as I won’t need winter clothes in June. 😂 I’d probably not have considers it in the past as I was in better condition, but I hope it’ll alleviate one thing as I’ll already have to desk regrettably with a walker. Don’t know how this new service you mentioned will do since it’s a start up. But I remember when Luggage Forward was just starting so I wish them the best. Hope to read some reviews of their service soon.
We have a baggage company in the UK which collects your suitcases before your cruise. You can opt for them to be dropped off after your cruise too. Great for anyone travelling by rail to the cruise port, works very well.
I can’t understand how a relative traveling with a special needs teenager, would not keep a close eye on them. So heartbreaking. I hope he is OK and is returned to his family safe and sound.
Most importantly, Prayers for Aydin to be located safe and healthy. Secondly, $45 dollars to ship a bag is cheaper than the cost that the airlines charge for a checked bag. Plus there is no need to tip a porter and carry your luggage all around. I would not want to be the test case for the first flew weeks but I would definitely pack early to take advantage of this. I did not visit the website but do the offer return service as well?
My husband and I go on lots of Caribbean cruises and it is not unusual for us to stay on board the ship while everyone is off. Besides I am 60 years old so I dont sun on the beach or scuba dive anymore, and I don't need any more trinkets. The 3 countries he listed have safety and crime issues and lots of people that are beggers.

None of the Above One of the hidden perks of the luggage delivery service is that you HAVE to be packed a week in advance. So..... no more up late the night before because I kept thinking I had time. ;) But seriously.... It would force me to get that task done, leaving me time to do little clean up tasks (and packing stuff like meds and a change of clothes) and would make departure from home more relaxed. We are using Cunard's service to do just that so WE don't have to schlep our stuff on the airplane.
We have been going to B C for years, prior to fencing the poor people out. This area is so poor residents go to the bank daily so they don't get robbed past one days amount. Now, the "haves" are inside the fence, vendors pay a premium to be vetted and allowed inside, and the "have nots" beg for your business through the fence. We no longer get off the ship if it stops here because it's too sad for me. Knowing that cruise ships only help the " haves" makes me sad, even though I'm on the ship. But, foreign governments are different than US and that's why we travel. God bless 🙏
I have been going to A, B, and C for years too and sometimes we just prefer to stay on the ship to enjoy while everyone is gone. I dont like the beggers in Jamaica, Bahamas, or in Mexico and I worry about my safety.
Never heard of Megan Trainer! As far as the luggage service goes, the quote sounds reasonable when you consider that some airlines charge close to that AND that still leaves gratuities for the porters at the port. Aydin’s family must be terrified-praying that someone has found him who recognizes his special needs.
How the heck does a minor get off a cruise ship on his own!! Total fault of Caribbean Princess. May this young man be found quickly and in perfect health.
I would prefer A. Jamaica is my favorite island and never had any problems there. My wife and I are always aware of our surroundings, mainly because we are both retired LEO’s.our safety always depended on our surroundings.
I used luggage forward on my most recent Cruise to manage my luggage. It was a round trip from Los Angeles to Miami to London and back to Los Angeles. Luggage pickup to the ship was one day prior to sailing. The return bag from London actually arrived at my house a day Early

only takes once not to arrive and you're screwed. Why contract out something you should do?
