@@karmiccrotal3480 Yeah, but also because they're mainly playing for fun They rather play other more mechanically unique or fun characters before going into Carl. They call out Carl either if someone is a tryhard or worthy enough to fight a Carl. That's from my personal experience from fighting few Carl players anyway.

The timing on this great. I just watched SaltyEU's BB tourney today. Star 星神runs Izanami all the way to GF winners side. Nesica runs his insanely good Tager up to GF losers side. They meet back up, and Star ditches Izanami for Hazama. Even though Izanami is considered top tier, even she has bad matchups. To the point of going with a pocket character in grand finals. That's also how godlike Nesica's Tager is. Btw, it worked. Hazama mixed up Tager all over the screen. Star's brilliant for being able to play two players at top level in this game, and zoners still beat grapplers, even magnetic ones.
I love blazblue for casual play, but it's so bad about having soooo many corner traps that I just can't play it competitively.. imo a balanced fighting game shouldn't have corner traps. Or at the very least they should have to be frame perfect and not have so many of them lol
@@lane9668 Idk what you mean Nine isn't top tier in CF2. Every single Nine I've fought online has given me a headache. This is just from my own personal experience, I have an easier time playing against the other characters you mentioned.
@@HelloKwak you're just not very good at the matchup. CF2.0 dropped and every single JP nine player swapped to izanami because they don't think she's top tier. yamashita (arguably the best JP izanami player, one of the best JP players period) puts her in like B tier lol
@@lane9668 What do you suggest as ways to fight against Nine? I know that if you play the keep away game, she likes to use Godhand, but I find it incredibly difficult to approach her and play against her in mid to close range. Also she has a very strong neutral game imo.
@@HelloKwak Godhand is incredibly slow and interruptible.. Her ability to approach you is terrible, her mobility is very bad for anything other than running away, and she can't even do that vs quite a few characters. Learning to fight Nine just requires learning to not get opened up by the rock, realizing that some characters don't need to try to come to her, and her options beyond the reach of her 5X normals are all very committal and either punishable or can be played around. Navy pressure has a long startup, huge recovery, and a minimum distance. If you get past it, she gets blown up.
izanami's theme already has the screams of the newbies in the corner, it's perfect.
Izanami is what happens when you get to play the final boss character but somehow its not nefed
