What could they really do without getting in the drivers way? I will be doing this account and I really don’t want no one in my way. I use to be a truck unloader at Walmart using the gravity belt, unloading 53ft trucks so this little bit will be easy once I get fast again. The only potential issue that I will have is how fast the workers move to unload the belt. Slow workers will only slow me down. A crowded belt is annoying
Loved this job and after a while none of this bothered me. I still think parking at a packed truck stop after a full day was the worst part. Great pay, kept you in shape, and constantly humbles you. Ohio family dollar had both store manager and district manager quit without notice, no keys to open the store. The ass mngr had keys and watched the front while I unloaded the whole truck and stocked one man team. Used a series of ropes to pull down the box line once fully loaded and repeat. Sometimes you gotta do the job yourself. That truck aint movin you aint gettin paid.
I did this crap account for one year. It was ALWAYS the store’s responsibility to line and hook up there rollers. YOUR responsibility is to hook your rollers to theirs at the end of the trailer. I would of told that lazy ass it’s YOUR RESPONSIBILITY and if he refuses I would be calling dispatch and the DC. It was ALWAYS the young men At Family Dollar that was lazy, slow unloading, on the phone, me waiting for them. When I went to stores with two old women in their 70’s I had a hard time throwing cases on the rollers trying to keep up with them, no shit all true😂.
Matthew 6:19-20 🔴 [19]“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; [20]but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
Some stores will work with you on how they set up with other drivers, some will just watch you and make you figure it out yourself (set up "your preferred way," they say. In my experience, boxes coming down the line fast or slow they complain.
The way I set up the accordion rollers is by putting the first two wheels into an empty tote and push it between the ICC bumper brackets. It stays put... especially when you attach the first roller track. I always ensure there's a high side in any bend in the accordion rollers to help keep the load from falling to the ground. To envision what I mean, think of the way a race track curve is slanted towards the inside of the turn.
I do Dollar Tree with CR England. The skate wheel rollers are the store's responsibility. I don't handle their rollers, only mine. Leave their rollers right there at the doorway and put one of your rollers from the back of your truck down to their roller. Why attach their rollers to your rig? Instead of bringing their roller to you, just bridge your roller out to meet theirs. You don't even have to prop it up, it will set between the end of your truck and their roller without any additional support.
I do dollar tree account for cr england, for our company anything we buy to help us gets reimburse by the company all I gatta do is submit a form, and they put crates in our trailers so we can set the height of our rollers
Why do you mess with all those totes/trays if you can just lay one down and adjust the roller? Honest question ive never done that type of unloading. Personally I woudnt want anyone that worked one of those stores getting in my way.
The fact that this account doesn’t have each stores load on its own pallet is ridiculous, I would never take this account seriously, too much disorganization, they ought to be ashamed.
I don't touch any of my freight just because of this BS, I am a driver and thats what I get paid to do. I may help on a dock sometimes but nothing like this crap.
This job look to easy. I would not mind doing this job. Get paid +$1400 weekly just to drive trucks and unload boxes using a roller belt. Im working on my cdl permit, once I get my cdl permit I will pay for a cdl training school to get my full Class A CDL. Then apply at US Xpress to a dollar general account. Do that for about 6 months and then buy a truck and become an owner operator. Good video
These dollar accounts are not for everyone. They require lots of patience, and you must expect humans to be humans and treat as worthless piece of nothing because they think they can do better at backing up that 53 Ft trailer at their store than you.

Why help when they can make you do it all. If you don't they call the company and complain you were, rude, abusive, late, lazy, pick 2.
Can we bring things from home to set up the rollers besides using boxes

The price of fuel is going up crazy, unless you have a good dispatcher, owner Ops aren’t making a lot of profit on runs.
Backing into a dollar general with a 53 foot trailer looks interesting

These dollar store people are some of the worst. Especially the ones who become managers and let the little power they got go to their heads
