I used to respect Miami, and I’m sure there’s still reasonable fans supporting the team, but from reading through these comments it’s obvious that they’re over valuing their assets and under valuing Dame’s greatness. He really is worth all that. If Miami did have the assets to land him the deal would be done already. Portland wants a kings ransom, when they know Dame is 33 going on 34 next year, and will get paid about 60 million at 36. If Dame was 26, ok then we can talk a kings ransom, but not 33. A fair deal is 3 first, a pick swap, 1 second, and Kyle Lowry (he free up cap space for them next off-season for free agency) & Duncan. Dame is not no spring chicken, so it doesn't make sense to give up all your assets like he is and get other team's involved.

I think Herro market value is underrated in the league. He’s young af, one of the youngest 6th man ever, elite 3 point shooter, and can create his own shot beyond the arc, within the arc, and at the rim. He is one of the best young scorers.
Yea it would matter to that 3rd or 4th team involved because the blazers guard rotation is full had he been healthy the last 2 years in the playoffs and even last year his value would be way up just for being a top 3 contributor to bringing his team to the finals. ESPN did an article about the most impactful free agent signings each team has had since 2010. Portland's was Wesley Matthews in 2010. The whole reason Dame is leaving in the first place is he came to terms with the fact that no player will ever go there regardless of anything other than the team moving to a bigger market. The NBA really needs to move the team or liquidate it asap.

Beck is talking pre-CBA change pricing. This is post-CBA change pricing. The days of 5+ 1sts being traded for aging guards is done. Just look at Harden, Westbrook and CP3. Their contracts became a problem a lot quicker than most assumed they would.

After three years they can either extend, wait until the end of the year and open a bidding war where the team can match any offer, or (which I think is the most probable at this point) they sign the qualifying offer. The QO means they play for peanuts for one year but then afterward they can sign any contract they like even if Portland matches. Look it up. Honestly I think Scoot and Sharpe both do this either way since they had the misfortune of being drafted there, but Portland can demonstrate that they care about their players by waving Dame and maybe.... and it's a long shot.... they might sign another contract with Portland and not a team in LA, NY or MIA.
Honestly it's more likely than anything else that Dame and Scoot play together in MIA at the end of Dames contract.
Also you should know this, Greg Oden only would only take the qualifying offer and he was beaten down and worthless at that point.

ESPN did an article about the most impactful free agent signings each team has had since 2010. Portland's was Wesley Matthews in 2010. The whole reason Dame is leaving in the first place is he came to terms with the fact that no player will ever go there regardless of anything other than the team moving to a bigger market. The NBA really needs to move the team or liquidate it asap.
