Awesome video Dimitri. Keep the racing videos coming. A how to set up, self launch and self land a foil racing kite would be awesome. And some more tips and tricks like the one In this video.
Wow. Great idea. I can totally see how this would work 😁 If there is a lot of wind, one thing I might add is to put the stopper all the way to the bar and trim the kite to full power, this will make the kite prone to backstall, so there is no chance of the kite launching untill getting back to the board.
I have been using Flysurfer kites since 2011, especially Speed 3 19m2. In most cases I was able to unfold my kite by tugging repeatedly front lines. But when I couldn't, a few times I managed to get to the shore with only half of the kite inflated. The other half was totally tangled and couldn't be inflated. These foil kites are so efficient, that you don't even need full surface to fly.
Thanks for this Dimitri, I’ll try it next time (hope there isn’t a next time though!) can anyone recommend as good buoyancy aid to use- never felt I needed one with an LEI, but feel vulnerable with s as foil n hydrofoil in light winds
@@epickites unless you got a real fortune cookie the wind will be strong enough to unfold the kite but you can use the board this way to anchor yourself for more resistance to the kite. I’ll keep that in mind when I’ll get in trouble 😉
@@epickitesKitelab V2 is a awesome bar, I really like it. I use the version without EVA wrap, grip is good for kites with low bar pressure (sonic3) don’t have experience with this bar on kites with higher bar pressure. New option with EVA wrap available.
Yes hook the bar on the back footstrap of your board so when the kite start pulling the board, it will pull the back of the board and make it dive into the water so it will become like an anchor and the nose of the board will be looking at the sky. 👍
@@Apostolis.Theoharous Then megale you are screwed 😂😂😂😂. If you don't have a footstrap, the next choice will be to hook your CL or your ring around the top of the mast but make sure to use your leash so it is soft and it doesn't damage the Leading Edge of your mast. And make sure you set it up all the way on top so it is against the bottom of the board.

@@ianbardon8581 Foil racing is not made to be in big waves. And relaunching a foil kite is always good to do this with a foil board so you can use it as an anchor 😉👍

what do you mean : STOPPER ????

I have load my kite onto my board and drifted ashore.
Thanks a lot, at least it helps to stay calm and not give up too early, even in cold water.
I don't know about cold water 😩😩😩

Good idea in low winds, would you recommend this technic in +15kts as well?
No I would not recommande to use this method in 15 knots and up +++++. Can be very dangerous.

Nice ome. Never thought of that
Wow amazing tip!! Happy belated name day -25th !
So this will only work for foil board. What about twintip or surfboard?
A
Attach the Chickenloop to the grabhandle of the twintip. Great anchor
I've done a couple of time...but be careful, a lot of bridle underwater, swim on the side,
Yes they can get round your legs.
10/10 for the explanation, now you will be ready to race in the gold fleet ;)
😏👍
So would the anchor trick work with a twintip? I guess not. Just had another fortune cookie kite today 😫
Yes, open the chicken loop and attach it to the Grabhandle or use the leash or optional rope/hook.
Boss. Thanks man!
Thank you. Didn’t know.
Hi Dimitri. Would Carbon bar are you using ?
I use few different bars but the one I like is GAC, KiteLab and SK shape.

Cool! Off topic, print up some more size Large Malaka shirts! ; )
😂😂😂😂😂👍 we are doing it as we speak Malaka.
Bravooooo
Or with easy words...not possible;D
But I really like my Flysurfer speed 5:)
Won't help if the wind still is gone.
If the wind is 0-3 mph then time to pack your kite and swim back home and tell your wife your swim of shame 😏👍
So I guess the nose of the board is pointing away from the kite?

That's fine in flat water, try it in 2 meter waves. Think about yourself , kites come and go.
Then don't go in 2 meter waves. Think about yourself. This works only in light wind 😉👍
