When they were doing the leg raises and going through the pain barrier. Tom Platz is an amazing motivator. Other trainers just say, "1 more, come on". Tom Platz is saying things like, "Go into that room" "This is the place where you build legs" "fight me" I don't normally get a kick out of watching other people train, but watching Platz motivating these guys to train is on another level.
Francis Parker Yockey & you're just a pathetic shit talker hiding behind a fake profile pic on TH-cam...... I'm thankful everyday that I'm not people like you, I actually feel sorry for people like you who obviously lack self confidence or maybe depressed enough to get a charge from posting pathetic comments while hiding.
I don't care what people say on here about his age. this man has a youthful Spirit and that's all that matters. he's in great shape for his age and has the ability to speak so well it's to the point I feel like going to the gym. he has a vivacious soul. I will forever have respect for him and other body builders from his time, not these new ones like Phil heath who doesn't respect the old school.
You can feel the passion through his words and thats what you got to pursue to fullfill your life, its not about money and stuff but about reaching that special place, that special state of accomplishment and fullfillment to be the best possible you, the mentality of pushing against all odds to achieve what in most people minds seem to be impossible.
The day i've start watching Tom Platz videos Leg Day has been my favorite part of the week, nothing better than listening to Tom Platz motivational speeches, the man speaks in quotes. Long live & More power to you Tom Platz!
One of my first muscle magazines was from 1978. He was on the cover and we didn't know who he was and I remember looking at his quads and his jaw muscles and thinking 'holy shit!'. I'll always love him for showing us what's possible.
I used to do this then go straight to the leg press afterward with no rest. Never seen anyone else training like that, In fact I never see anyone train legs full stop in my gym. Nice to see some real training sick video.
Tom Platz is a really and truly a squat guru or squat teacher...at age 62 yrs old...he is still squatting Most importantly is he teaches squats with proper forms and with proper squat shoes...so I have learn from just watching and listening this man talks about squats and how to them proper helps people like me and many others do squats the correct and proper way makes realise that once u r good at that something and that something happens to be the only thing u r good at and go teach others learn that one thing u are good at to others and others will benefit from learning that one thing u are good at
doing leg extensions is just stupid period. and this stupid shit tom has them doing is just asking for injury... tom is an extremist when it comes to training and nobody ever needs that extreme amount of brutality that he inflicted upon himself. there are a million safer and more beneficial ways to train. just kill it on the squats and call it a day. that's enough.
Awesome Respect... Tom Platz had the mindset and the desire to take his physique to another level... it all started with the squat and where he took it. To build a pair of legs that were out of this world in size and power requires a tenacity that is not commonplace in most gymnasiums today. Bodybuilders now want the quick fix... and they'll take supplements and drugs to get it. But Tom Platz was prepared to go to hell and beyond to build a body that most bodybuilders in gyms today, will never achieve. Tom had enormous size, shape and symmetry in his leg development... but he had to make a deal with the devil to get them.. most men training in gyms today across the land will never realize that kind of development because they simply don't have the mindset. The desire might be there, but the mindset is the missing link. Tom had the killer MINDSET and that's how he got to the promise land in bodybuilding and he trained with other elite athletes who also shared that same vision.
Honestly at 16 and no roids in a basement in a summer afternoon training like this got me super swole and freshman year of high school i haf juniors and seniors asking if i couls get them test and i always told them its just alot of work every other day train insane and your muscle will either swell up or explode no in betweens lol
Kzoo Detector Very intense training here but nothing will match the intensity that mlord reached while training legs with PJ. Jason took his body to the limits and further. Truly an inspiration.
Part 2 ended with him critiquing their squat form with just the bar. Part 3 begins just after they all finished squatting. WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU NOT SHOW THEM DOING THE SQUATTING!?!?!?
Nice post Tom platz has a insane mindset, only 3 hour of training at this intensity ? 1 hour is really my max and then i cannot walk (almost without breakes) annybody can manage 3 hours ?
Thank you digital muscle TV for posting. It must have been tough to get Tom to agree to the interview. His attitude to success is extraordinary. I would love to interview him. Please DM me on Twitter: @nicholashill
I suffer from what he talked about and its so discouraging. Im tall and I guess not very flexible. When squatting, before my quads reach parallel with floor my heels have to come up, but it doesnt feel like a flexibility issue as much as it does a balance issue. At the bottom to retain balance I also find myself having lean my torso forward and break that up/down spine plane. Dont know if it is infact flexibility, simply poor technique with little practice, physiology or a combination of those....but it sucks. Going wider and angling knees out helps a bit but not perfect. Also throwing a plate down to place heels on helps a bit too but again detracts from stability too. It really sucks being relinquished to the leg press :(. Ill have to keep trying Also... 6:20 LMFAO
I thought leg extension's will tear up knees? I guess these guys are young yet, when they hit 30 or so then it will kick in. Then Platz holding it down, man I wonder if platz had knee surgeries.
6:30 Dude went super saiyan. Respect.
lol I was gonna type that.
jweber544 i thought he was going to bust a load in toms face
Robot Reapers: Megatron I wonder if Tom's sex life is as intense XD

Am I the only one who wanted to go straight to the gym after watching this ?
I'm watching this after my leg day so to the hell with gym right now. Those stiffleggeds got me like a bitch.
Amazing video though
I barely made it through part 2...paused, went to the gym, came home and finished watching with a meal. lol
Thank you!
I guess thats a compliment. lol
If that was intended for me, indeed it is. I was so pumped to train, I had to pause and go. lol
Only one man can show you how to take it to that place that divides mortals from supermen during a leg workout. Respect Tom Platz
Nothing better than Mr plats showing you how its done!
Francis Parker Yockey & you're just a pathetic shit talker hiding behind a fake profile pic on TH-cam...... nothing but respect and admiration for this fine gentleman.............bravo!!!!!
I understand everything Tom has articulated. it's fucking beautiful.
I love the dudes doing leg extentions with knee wraps on, sounds like a good way to grind your patella into dust
doing leg extensions is just stupid period. and this stupid shit tom has them doing is just asking for injury... tom is an extremist when it comes to training and nobody ever needs that extreme amount of brutality that he inflicted upon himself. there are a million safer and more beneficial ways to train.

I like Tom Platz. I think he's a real swell guy!
Tom Platz, best legs ever!!!
in my opinion the leg curl should be done slowly and squize at the top and slower down. more efficient and less injuries. controlled the weights
Why are they doing the leg extensions so fast?
7:29 Tom says "you right?" no Tom my testicle has just been squashed
Haheh😆😂😂
Never enough plates for platz
Did I miss the part where he demonstrated some mobility and stretching?
Some unilateral leg training is always useful whether Bulgarian split squats or whatever.
Great person.

Why doesn't my gym do anything cool like this? I would have loved to be there
It's amazing how that much muscle mass disappears over the years.
Part 2 ended with him critiquing their squat form with just the bar. Part 3 begins just after they all finished squatting. WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU NOT SHOW THEM DOING THE SQUATTING!?!?!?
