Really? Maybe he can get our government to stop jamming 4-strokes and electric bikes down the industries throats, (as he talks about communist CZ nation here)? Is he that good of a "spokesman" for the sport? Nope. Nobody is. We can be forced into paving the tracks and putting wind sails on the bikes, and they would all follow suit.
Wow !!! Unreal I just pulled out some photos today, to bring to my buddy’s 70th birthday party this weekend. I went to that race in Communist Czechoslovakia in September of 1983 and have pictures of Broc on that bike. When we flew from Vienna to Brussels he sat beside me ! Bailey, Ward , Barnet and DeCoster were right behind us and Team Belgium were sitting just in front of us. Great memories and a trip of a lifetime. Gigi Penton organized the Motocross and Trophy Des Nation trip.
Brock Glover, Jeff Ward, Mark Barnett, Johnny O'Mara, Rick Johnson, Bob Hannah...the 1980's were really the Golden Era for the sport. Broc was a big part of it all. Glad to see him...
Supercross is older than 50 years old, (at least 52 years, but the FIM/AMA does not count what the FIM/AMA has not taken over yet.), and the snap dragon stadium was finish built in 2022. There were not 50 years of SX in that new stadium as the headline says. We don't remember where we were. We don't know where we are going.
@@eric6rock Probably means that the MXGP world championship days, (with only 15 guys on a 40 rider gate), are numbered. How many world championships can there be in one sport? You forgot the eyes of the FIM. That is the industry organization most responsible for the decline of the sport,---because of there progressive policies.
The real money and prestige in the stadium version of the sport (ie Supercross) is in America since the riding style is so different from the nationals (which is where the MXGP guys give a run for our money). No other country really has stadium circuit quite like ours and it’s also the highest paying version of dirt bike racing on the planet since fan attendance is usually much higher compared to other series (why else do you McGrath hated racing outdoors).
Broc's OW looks so sick even today, 2t will always be greater than 4t, 83 was an awesome year in MX and SX, may have been the last year all the top 4 Honda, Suzuki, Kawi and Yamaha had great works bikes! Plus full teams. 84 Yamaha pulled production rug in 84 and 85 Suzuki didn't develop its works bikes and Honda and Kawi leap frogged works technology over the next 2 years, esp in the US, hated the production rule and still do, today its fake as and more expensive than the Works bikes era, the gap is even bigger! Still great to see Broc still has this bike and JT gear back then was the shitz!
"The bikes have evolved so much. This one is a 2-stroke. Now they are all 4-stroke and so fine tuned. Also so expensive we can't fill the gate for 2 heat races now in one class or the other. Must be like that in Europe and worse, as they have 15 guys on a 40 rider gate,---but they are riding those fantastic 4-strokes. They are just awesome!" This guy should be forced to wear pink for the rest of his life.
Dud you guys think she did a good job reporting this SX event? I did too. Then I heard why. She said she was going to suit up and take a bike for a ride. She rides. But racer-x hired a piece of mud like weegee anyway.
Broc is a great spokesman for the sport.
Hell yeah
Sure is, we'll be watching in Scotland.

Broc Glover is the man.

About time supercross gets put in the limelight. The most physically demanding sport on the planet. And the most dangerous
I can tell. You are young and new. We all started there.
I think Mx34 will be a must!!!!!!! Yes

Well, the races were not covered by NBC back then, so they are on you tube.
