    When shoplifting is announced to no longer be a crime that will be enforced, what do the city leaders think is going to happen. It's pure lunacy on display for the world to see.
    If you tell the crime bosses these actions are no longer crimes, it's like an invitation to come to the city from all over the country and set up shop. The citizens of SF voted these policies into office, so again I ask why is this even making the news?

    Mayor Breed should be recalled. She lowered the SF police budget by $120 million in 2020, then another $24 million in 2021 (to 668 million - laying off 5%, then another 11% of the force). In Feb 2021, she announced she would again reduce the police budget in 2022 another $64.9 million (just under 10%). So how sad that she then blames Target for not hiring enough store security.

      @Cabrini Copia Can you tell me where the republicans are in control of any political offices in SF ( politicians on both sides )? Only one party controls SF and that is Democrat. Politicians allowing people to steal over $900 dollars and the police must stand down, what? Why patrol an area when you are not allowed to arrest anyone for theft? Will displaying displinary records or more training of police officers stop the theft when prosecutors won't prosecute thieves?

    • @richardswain5033
      @richardswain5033 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Cabrina. As your statement is well thought out and makes many valid points, your comment is still subjective in nature. Fact is those cities with the highest crime and the highest increase in crime are Democrat run cities. It’s also hilarious that Democrats called for defunding the police as it would actually “ reduce” crime is utterly hilarious but now they’re asking for more police funds because and I quote Jen” Republicans defunded the police”. The sheer stupidity of Democrats never lets me down. Again your comment was a very good starting point for a discussion but it lacks facts. In a debate you wouldn’t get a single point. The fact is, removing police from the streets and not prosecuting criminals (this includes lowering bail for violent offenders) has shown an increase in crime in which almost every Republican said would happen but somehow common sense is racist to Democrats.

      Gotta look deeper than politics here. Why are they stealing Luis Vuitton handbags? I mean that’s a very specific and limited clientele who buy them. The fact that these are organized pros lead me to believe these items aren’t being sold locally (US) but internationally on the black market. VICE news has a lot of stories around this topic.
      Politics are playing a roll locally (police are overburdened and underfunded let alone policy issues), but we are failing on a much larger scale. Steal it here, post the sale online overseas, and ship it to the buyer from here. Start a new company next month and do it all again. Found out this was a thing three years when my home address was used by one of these deals (reported it and four government agencies passed the buck, so I gave up) Yet the problem is so big and affected by so many factors that I don’t think the local government decisions would affect their profit margins by a tenth of a percent. So how do we address it?
      Way too big brain for me. Thoughts?
      (Please keep the political rhetoric out of this and just talk.)
