      Yeah, nice; I had one of those (8-track player only) in my '56 Belaire, wish I could find it (was detachable mounted for anti-theft),...…. but mostly wish I still had the Belaire!! :D

    I think maybe you missed a step. What's holding the radio while in the dash? We used to tighten the stem nuts to the faceplate and then a strap in the rear. But the way the stems are on this radio are set up I don't think its designed to hold the weight of the unit. Love your videos. Not trying to be a hater, just noticed a step missing.

      We had issues with the video quality when I was showing the radio mount to the chassis. The F100 has tabs that the radio mounts to that are stamped into the dash panel. We have used the straps as well. Just can't get in there to show that.

    Good job how about running the wire loom for the Amps,and bass speakers may save having to pull every thing out and redo it all.

      I'm looking at that. I have one power wire run for the power lumbar on the seat. I might not add the amp and sub. We'll see.

      I've had one in the wagon for 3 years and no problems. But sometimes things break. Maybe contact Retro?

    Hey Jeff. Great video as always. Just curious on your opinion. I’m 17 and I got a old 64 falcon with a 3spd and 144 six. I love the ford 6 cylinders and and everything about them but I’ve never had a 144 before. Are these guys to weak for modern traffic (65-70 highway)

      Well, there is no substitue for cubic inches...unless it is cubic meters of air (turbo or supercharger). You can go up to a 200 and it will be more sparkly. But the rebuild will cost some money. If you are just tooling around town, the 144 and three on the tree are fine. Just don't get in a stoplight battle with anything more substantial than a '63 VW beetle...😜

      Jarod - what Jeff did NOT say is that for a young driver, a 144 in a light car like the 64 Falcon is plenty. Yes, I learned to drive in a '66 Mustang with the 200 I6. Did I want the 289? Yes. Would I have survived NW Indiana with a 289? Maybe not... If you live where there is ice and snow in the winter, your 144 will keep you entertained.

      I had the 144 or 170 in my 64 Chero, pulled it and upgraded to a 200 (which my friend had in his 66 Stang which he pulled to go with a 302), with a 5 speed from stang behind it. No problem at freeway speeds, and plenty of zip for around town. Depends on your stack or coins which way to go, performance stuff or cosmetics, both will deplete the stack quickly!!

    is the blue wire to turn on/off automatically external amps or subs?

    • @AutoRestoMod
      @AutoRestoMod  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It can be that or can also be a power antenna.

    I had a retro which was hardly ever used only a couple of times I have used it but now it turns on but my screen is blank. There’s power running to the radio. Any ideas what it might be? Possible wiring issues?

    • @AutoRestoMod
      @AutoRestoMod  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That would be a call to Retorsound for me if I were you.

      I would check with retro sound they probably have a wiring diagram for that radio.

    I have a problem and I already installed the sound in my 1969 F100 but you hear a buzzing every time I accelerate and I can not remove it,
    Any advice to help me?

      Grounds. Make sure you have good grounds and also use good quality radio resistance wires.

    Do you think this would mount up in a 67?

      www.fordification.com/tech/67radio.htm this offers the dimensions, you can use this to contact Retrosound to see.
