I have a the imax b6 charger and each time I turn it on goes straight to discharge lipo mode and battery check and then connection failure and the buttons do not function, if you can help me with this one, thanks
Mine puffed the magic blue smoke and the discharge function stopped working. The only difference is that it shows the discharge Amps, counts the miliamps that it sucked out from the battery but it does not really discharge. My multimeter says its discharging at 0.018 amps. Do you think it might be the same thing?
Refund no, But I'd ask for the original replacement part, and a partial refund on principal. But we know you'll never see either. And besides returning the unit is cost prohibitive anyway and they know this. Glad you could fix it and share your results.

Well, I got an original (I think) and a clone from the same seller. The buzzer is quite different between the two AND the clone can charge at 6 amps and discharge at 2. I never use it, since I fear that it might over-stress it, but still, that's pretty weird. Also the storage function didn't work on the clone. It just charged the batteries back up. I had to manually program the thing.
I wonder if you can help me on my iMax B6 charger.(trying to charge a phantom 3 battery I notice a burn smell after I connected the battery on PB charge) all the functions and the display works except it DON'T charge there is not voltage coming from the output charger... is there any input or output fuse that I have blown that can be replaceable and were is it. thanks
hi Marcel.o R i have problem with my b6ac, it will restart everytime i am trying to charge a battery, it doesnt matter whether it is lipo life pb nicd, it will reset the charger to the main screen. can you help me explaining what is the faulty actually? currently i am using an external power supply adapter rating as 12v 4A. the internal adapter as i measure is like only 11.98V 2.2A. please help. thanks.
I presume that you will see the problem in the near future. I fixed this problem after 3 years. This problem is caused by power MOS Tr due to low heatsink capability.there are no screw between POWER MOS tab and case. There are not enough pressure for POWER MOS TR view point from power dissipation. I added plastic screw to this MOS FET TR(TO-220) with 3mm hole for original case. There are no pressure of This MOS FET TR for original this set.
Hi Marcel, goed dat je het werkend hebt gekregen. Ik heb zelf ook een clone gekocht, een falcon powercell. Precies dezelfde pcb layout. Mijjn probleem is dat hij steeds aangeeft dat 1 cell niet meer goed is (under voltage) .. Maar als ik de balance port van de lipo doormeet hebben alle cellen dezelfde voltages.. Ik vermoed dus dat de lader kapot is.. Heb jij enig idee wat daar het probleem van kan zijn? De lader laat me dus ook niets opladen met balance port aangesloten want dan geeft hij een error.
voor het balanceren wordt er een netwerk van smd weerstanden gebruikt. die zitten allemaal schots en scheef en wijken nog wel s af in die namaak laders. Denk dat t daar ergens aan ligt.

When I hit the button to check the battery and start to charge, it stops and returns to the very begining as I turn it on. Could be the same mosfet?
it's possible, but it can also be the current-sense resistor. maybe a loose/dry solder joint or indeed the mosfet.. try to measure the resistence in de mosfet like i did.
Buy this version because it just says our name on it. Our competition makes a fake one and its basically the same. Remember to buy it because it has our name. 😆

I by mistake input a 24V dc and damaged a cap on the board, I replace the cap but now the device is saying "connection break", any idea ?

+Quasimoto Glez there's no fuse in the charger, only in the power supply.
maybe a transistor or mosfet is blown and it needs some soldering work.

ok was not the mosfet, its the resistor after the mosfet by the minus terminal!

most of the mosfets with the same pinout will work, but should be one who can handle high amps
Why does it want to discharge to 3volts per a cell. Isn't this dangerous. I thought 3.2volts is the lowest a cell should go to.

AhLee Yong i think it shut be stel up converter. or 5v stab. then you start charging, 5 v drop, Andy processor restart
You said that it is a fake version. If so, did you manage to change the firmware of it with the original one? Have you managed to calibrate it again?
You run it without a heatsink on the MOSFET while discharging, did the MOSFET survive ?

You have the charger on the wrong settings it should be set to lithium ion not lithium polymer or lipo

18650 is not a Lipo Battery change your settings to Li-Ion the voltage is different.

My clone worked perfectly - then one day - it didn't! Still doesn't.
Probably the same problem - voltage reg. That is where the load is, I guess.
