For those asking, the halo at 7.30 is a brocken spectre. Quite often seen in the mountains when the sun is behind and above you, casting your shadow on to clouds below. Often seen as well from an aeroplane just above the clouds.

Thanks for bringing us along on your spectacular trek. How marvelous to experience the breathtaking views (and even the heebie-jeebies from the heights and steep drops) from the comfort of my chair. A vertical, midwinter hike like this is something I could never undertake, yet I got a taste of it through your generosity and skill. And the cameo by the girls was delightful. We were all duly impressed, even if they weren’t. Happy New Year, Mr. Cotter, and thanks again.

Thank you for allowing us to join you and remind ourselves and appreciate the beauty of this planet, when so many places are struggling through the affects of our changing weather.
We are so lucky to be on this earth with such amazing places - and of course gorgeous animals too.

Bottom of my stomach dropped to the floor as you trotted insouciantly along the ridge, apparently leaning out for a better shot. No wonder Olive and Mabel elected to stay home and play the music of their people: squeak, squeak, squeeeksqueeeek, squeak.

Vertigo aside (can’t even manage the “gods” at the theatre) loved every minute of your trek. I’m sure a lot of us didn’t realise how beautiful your part of the world can be. Thank you so much. Full marks to Olive and Mabel guarding the house too.

Loved it! Was reminded on our drive to Isle of Skye some years ago - must have been near your area. We were so impressed seeing the mountains just from the road then. And now you brought us to them in winter! Thank you and give Olive and Mabel a hug!

Wonderful. Takes me back 20yrs, and a broken spectre, just perfect. Taking a dog would add a whole other dimension. You’d have to think about what would you do if they got injured or couldn’t manage the terrain. Carrying an adult lab would be quite an undertaking. Hope other dog owners think this through as you have done.
