I worked in a steel fab shop in the 1990s in the USA. We made gas pump island borders and manhole assemblies. We would start production in the morning at 7am: cut, drill, mill, form, weld. We would start painting around 3pm. And then hand it over to the shipping truck at 315. Shift ended at 330. I only worked there for 6 months and the only time I remember cleaning up shards of scrap from behind the shears and shavings from mills was 2 hours before the end of the shift on Christmas Eve. Other than that, we stumbled on the debris. That job was a shock after working 3 years in a cleaner and better organized shop.
Working in a messy workshop tells more about the pride of the workers than anything else. You should either start your day / shift by cleaning the work area, or end your shift doing so. When it starts accumulating, it’s too late, because it becomes everyone’s responsibility, i.e no one’s task...
@@corvettebob96 ok, not your fault though. In my experience, you need 15 minutes of clean up per 45 minutes of work - for a job that is not already streamlined, with all the jigs built and whatnot. And if you skip those 15 minutes, you start doing less and less work during those 45 minutes, even if you extend those 45 minutes to 1 hour and totallt skip the clean up. And it gets even worse when you start messing your workpiece because of the conditions, and you basically lose the time and the material.

At the end of the working day they don't do head count, they do a toe and finger count. Costs too much to put safety guards over moving parts. The only thing amazing is that no one got injured in this video.

The most amazing part is that all of them still have their toes.
Well, it's a surprise
Sandals and molten metal. What could go wrong?🙄
It’s because they have their steel toed safety sandals!
You all underestimate the effectiveness of safety sandals.
расплавленный метал и щлепанцы . Это восхитительно
Just wanted to confirm they’re pouring molten metal with open toe shoes.
Not to mention no respirator and long draping clothes next to open flame
These are real MEN.
I am glad he wears his safety sandals.
