The 24K Life hahaha you will soon learn about the fastest way to propagate - the "money method" haha! Then you will become The 25K Life because now you need to set aside a grand for this addiction 🤣
SOooo beautiful and lovely❤️ very knowledgeable🏆 I mention you to other channels, you're an expert in succulents. Thank God, you have a helper, SOsooo cute. You are a good model to the young's one. Thanks 4 info ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
this makes me so happy! I'm having trouble with my pulvinata leaves drying out so I am trying different methods such as leaving them over a jar of water with plastic wrap! Good luck to you!
Sooooo cute! Great video. I Need an assistant 😀. I just started getting into propagating succulents. I Send my grown children my new “ grand babies “ pictures. Ha
Haha thanks! Yeah, I like to think of my way as the "lazy" method. It's suits my style since I do huge batches at a time. I'm not even sure what I'm going to do with all of them once they grow. So far I managed to use my previous propagations in my landscapes (and swaps). 😂
With your creative mind im sure youll find some place to incorporate them into your landscape design. I wish there were succulent swaps where I live. Or maybe there are and Im not even aware. Its such a wonderful way to meet liked minded people and who doesnt like free plants? :)
From England 🇬🇧 🏴 Great videos, I have watched and learned from quite a few. I wonder why some leaf cuttings , of the same variety have grown much bigger in the same tray... I have assumed that each tray had been put for propagation at the same time
Love to see updates on your propagation works! Very informative too. I found it’s really difficult to propagate donkey’s tails or aeoniums by leaves. Leaf propagation works the best with echeverias I think, but I’m struggling to get the sprout to grow bigger once they formed a small rosette. Do you apply fertiliser after repotting the sprouts? Which brand and how frequent do you apply in order to boost their growth? Also how do you pest control and fertilise your succulent garden? They look really healthy and flourish. Thanks mate!
Hi there. For pests, what I usually do is chop off flower stalks preemptively because those attract lots of harmful insects. When there is an infestation of mealies, I go directly for systemic pesticides (after removing the flowers), because I do not want to waste time. With sprouts, I do not fertilise them. At that stage, fertilisers will do more harm than good because it forces them to grow much faster than they should, resulting in weak stems. You really shouldn't be fertilising the really young plants anyway. As for the rest of the plants, I do not fertilise them too for a few reasons - 1) my soil mix is relatively rich anyway, they should get enough nutrients there (succulents do not need a lot of nutrients), 2) to save money not needing to buy fertilisers, 3) no fertiliser means that they tend to be more colourful due to stress.
Please please PLEASE can you do a video on how often you water them, how to know if the petal is going to root or not and how much sunlight they get?? This would be so helpful :)
Hi mate I have leaf cuttings at the moment should I put them in an area where they are getting light or would it be ok to leave them in the garage there is not much sun light at all getting in thoe?
Hi. Very interesting topics. And nice navigation, thank you! How do you think about propagation of Romeo ( Red Evony )? I want to propagate Romeo, but I feel difficulty about that. If you have some tips or your individual opinion, would you give me some hints?
I don't have a video specific to propagating them, but I imagine that they will do well with beheading. Success rate from leaves can be a bit low for these.
Thank you for your reply. Uh... I will try to cut the head! Romeo is so beautiful. I really love it. Here, in Japan, Propagating succulents is a kind of boom. We usually get some pretty specifics from Korea. But they are small and neat, your succulents are dynamic and bigger. I love them. Thanks again!!
Hi i have bought some seeds from unusual seeds they are echeveria when should i sow them the temp up here is between 22c to 24c and should i plant them in covered trays outside or inside. This reminds me of when i started to grow tuberous begonia.
You'll want to keep them covered in bright shade, much like how you would treat your leaf cuttings. No direct sunlight. Those temperatures are perfect.
Love your channel ! It's spring in France and I'm trying to propagate echeverias for the first time. I put my cutting leafs on the soil like you, but some of my cutting leaf only have roots (a lot!!). I only spray them with water every three days. Is it normal? I don't know what to do with this... 😥
NH L yeah it's partly luck as well. Some just sprout roots, and if you are lucky, some leaves will sprout much later. However I find that for the most part, if they sprout roots only, the chance of growing a pup is low. This is why I tend to do mass propagations to make up for it haha!
Hi Hannah, all you can do is wait, and hope they push out pups later on. Because of this, I always propagate a large batch so I don't feel so bad if some of them just push out roots... 😂
Hi Adjoa. Not sure if I filmed these specific ones but most of them I reused in my landscape. I filled up parts of the new arc with jelly beans. I think I only filmed when I harvested and planted the large cuttings.
Chuck, I absolutely love your videos and plants. I learn so much from you. When you propagate from leaves do you wet the soil? Do you water or spray with a bottle? Or do you keep it dry? Thanks in advance!
With leaf propagations, it depends. I group them into 3 stages: Stage 1 is when they have been freshly plucked up until the time they start growing roots. I do not water them at all during this time. Stage 2 is from the time they start growing roots, all the way to the time the parent leaf dries out completely. I mist them from time to time to keep them a bit damp, but I don't worry too much because the parent leaf provides most of the water they need anyway. Stage 3 is where the parent leaf has dried out, and hopefully the pup has a good root system already. This is where you need to make sure they are well hydrated. They don't like staying wet too long but they need more watering than older plants. So whatever watering routine you have for the mature plants, do something more frequent for the leaf pups. You basically do not want them to dry out too much.
I have a few Echeveria leaves I'm attempting to propagate...I get them to root and even little tiny pups are appearing but then the mother leaf seems to dry out & they all die! What am I doing wrong?
So it seems that you managed to get all the way until the stage where the parent leaf dries off. That's good. However from that point onwards, you should be giving it more water since it can no longer get nutrients from the parent leaf. I think it might be easier to cover all bases of your question if I show you the video I made about it before (assuming you haven't seen it yet). Otherwise if you had more specific questions, feel free to ask! :D th-cam.com/video/26g5GRj9gb4/w-d-xo.html
You can head chop them anytime as long as it is not too cold yet. I would prefer spring though because it leads right into their growing season. If you do it in fall, their growth is much slower since they are getting ready to go dormant in winter. Once they are dormant, there will be little to no growth and you might mistake it for being ill or something. As for seeds, fall and spring are the best time to do it because the average temperature is ideal. Not too cold and not too warm. You can do it anytime though if you have the right growing environment (grow lights, etc). I'm not experienced with grow lights so I can't recommend anything yet. So far I do everything "naturally", i.e. just doing it at the "right" season.
Hi Yuko, that's a good idea. I might try chopping mine. Anyway, you'll generally want to propagate them from cuttings. That will give you the most success.
Yeah. You'll want to avoid any watering until they grow roots because watering too early, especially when the cut hasn't healed yet can lead to rot. A safer alternative is just to lay them on top of the soil (or any surface really, soil is not needed), like how you would normally do leaf cuttings and wait until you start seeing roots. Once roots are forming, that's when you plant them in the soil and you can start watering them.
We have mild winters in Melbourne, Australia. In my suburb specifically, it only got to as low as 0-1°C. So all I have to worry about is the humidity and the occasional frost. Outside of Melbourne, in the mountainous areas, it can go below freezing and they have snow.
I hate you for giving me a new addiction. But I love you for teaching me how to do my new addiction properly.
The 24K Life hahaha you will soon learn about the fastest way to propagate - the "money method" haha! Then you will become The 25K Life because now you need to set aside a grand for this addiction 🤣
Dont blame Chuck 😂 he is just our enabler...welcome to your newest addiction!

Thank you really enjoyed watching this!
Glad you like it! :D
you can open a whole succulent shop, will be happy to buy some.
I can see them. You may have more coming. Good job! Tks for video
What a surprise! I know Cathy back here in Iloilo. Nice propagation!
I asked her about your name, kilala ka nga daw niya haha! Small world!
this makes me so happy! I'm having trouble with my pulvinata leaves drying out so I am trying different methods such as leaving them over a jar of water with plastic wrap! Good luck to you!
Experimentation is always good! Please let me know how it turns out for you!
Just got to the end of the video. What a good little helper you have. Like father like son :)
Oh he definitely loves helping. When I say I'm going to water the plants, he rushes to get the spray bottle!
Sooooo cute! Great video. I Need an assistant 😀. I just started getting into propagating succulents. I Send my grown children my new “ grand babies “ pictures. Ha
Enjoyed seeing the update!!
Glad you liked it!
Love to see how people propagate differently. Very interesting. Seems like your having lots of success. Yay new plant babies :)

Let me know if you have more specific questions though, I'll try to answer if I know it.
Cerriscapades thankyou!!
awesome bro, how much time does te babies take to grow into adults
What do you do with all of the pups once they are mature enough to go into their own pots? Do you keep them all or sell them?
Bit of both! I use some of them in my landscapes as additional filler. Others I either swap for other plants or sell.
Do you have any update on the agavoides leaves that you propagated?
Love yr video's
Is the dirt necessary? For the sprouts? If they are withering, should we sprinkle with water?
How long does it take for them to get big and what kind of soil do you use
I like your succulents, different varieties...can i order?hehe
They are so cute, i collect Haworthia Variegated
Yeah those ones look nice too.
Chuck where do you order your plant racks?
Got the big black one from Bunnings. The aluminum one from eBay.
Love your videos! Galing!
Kenneth Ngo salamat!

Hi sir, do you put your propagation trays in location where sunlight can reach even in just a short time?
Hi i have bought some seeds from unusual seeds they are echeveria when should i sow them the temp up here is between 22c to 24c and should i plant them in covered trays outside or inside. This reminds me of when i started to grow tuberous begonia.

Cerriscapades Oh so I just have to cross 🤞now. Thank you for response !!! Merci beaucoup 😊
What do you do if your leaf propagations are all growing roots but don't seem to produce pups? Do you know why this happens? Thanks!
Hi Hannah, all you can do is wait, and hope they push out pups later on. Because of this, I always propagate a large batch so I don't feel so bad if some of them just push out roots... 😂
@@Cerriscapades Thank you! Propagating is really teaching me how to have patience! Haha
haha exactly!
What was the conclusion for water-antifungal ratio when watering your seedlings?
I have no idea how you keep track of that
Perhaps I missed it, but what happened to the jelly bean leaves you propagated?
Hi Adjoa. Not sure if I filmed these specific ones but most of them I reused in my landscape. I filled up parts of the new arc with jelly beans.

Hey do you have a discord server? It’s be create to have a community based on succulent growers to share all kinds of information.
ahahaha your assistant is cute :D
Yes he is!

That sounds like a humidity problem. Increase watering once you see roots. :) Good Luck!
I have echeveria seeds should I wait until spring to sow ? Also can I head chop now in the fall?
You can head chop them anytime as long as it is not too cold yet. I would prefer spring though because it leads right into their growing season. Can you show me a Senecio haworthii propagation please!!
Hi Yuko, that's a good idea. I might try chopping mine. Anyway, you'll generally want to propagate them from cuttings. That will give you the most success.
Cerriscapades okay. Cut the stem and plant them in soil??
Yeah. You'll want to avoid any watering until they grow roots because watering too early, especially when the cut hasn't healed yet can lead to rot.

You're welcome Yuko. If I ever get to make a video about this plant, I'll make sure to mention you!
You have many trays of plants. Do you sell them?
Some of them, yes. I can send within non-restricted states of Australia.
Do u sell your plants?
Yes, but only within non-restricted states in Australia.
Do you have freezing winter in your area?
We have mild winters in Melbourne, Australia. In my suburb specifically, it only got to as low as 0-1°C. So all I have to worry about is the humidity and the occasional frost. Outside of Melbourne, in the mountainous areas, it can go below freezing and they have snow.
Do you keep all of them or do you sell them? Can you ship international? Just curious🤔😌
Planning to sell some of them when they get large enough. But locally only, sorry. :)
Are you watering this?
Yes, I mist them once in a while just so they don't get too dry. Only the ones with roots though. Those that haven't sprouted yet, I leave them alone.
I wish I could just teleport here and grab a bucket of leaves
Are u filipino?
I love it plz send me to india ...😊
