Could not sit still.... those fine people sitting down, don't know how they did it... Brilliant, high energy, and tasty. I have never commented on TH-cam. Look what you cats did to me. I thank you.
Nothing like a Hammond/Leslie played by a master. Mr. Doley, you rock the heavens. I've been a Hammond junkie since my early teens (I'm 68 now). Never get tired of it. No synth can match up to it. And the way you play it at full throttle is truly amazing. Love the band, the groove. Amazing musicians all of you. Rock on. Cheers from Argentina.
@@LachyDoley Wow the man himself love the long time video as well. You are single handedly bringing back the Hammond... Not since Billy Preston at concert for George Isn't it a pity..love ya
@@LachyDoley You rock man. I live in a small town I play guitar I've been trying to get something like this going for so long. Had a little 4 piece started a few years ago but the singer had a drug problem. Been doing classic rock covers for years just to stay on my feet. I'm so inspired to get back to my roots. This is the shit man. GO BROTHA!!
Ancient kit, wood, mechanical stuff and valves, sounds fantastic 45 or so years after the last one was made. Appreciate Mr Doley's efforts to remind us of this.
If you think this is good, wait til you see him live. Lachy picks you up by the scruff of the neck, throws you on the dancefloor & blows your mind & body with with what can only be described as a sonic explosion. Simply one of the best things I have ever seen live
As much as I complain about the TH-cam algorithms, I am grateful to them for steering me to this video. Steve Winwood is one of my musical heroes and I'm always a little nervous when I see people covering his work. You, sir, put all concerns aside almost immediately. You worked that Hammond over like it owed you money (and I mean that in the best possible way), your vocals were outstanding and your band - musicians and backup singers - were tremendous. Please consider me a new fan and I look forward to more of your work.
Bring back memories of the sixties and early Chicago, and certainly one of the best rock songs, evergreen! An excellent version worthy of Lachy. You're the man, man!!!
Everything I've seen from these sessions is absolutely magic !!! How amazing to be in the studio and be a part of the whole thing. @Lachy Doley, you and the band are doing amazing work..
What a great instrument (the Hammond). I dearly love that you leave the back open, as it's just stunning that such a relatively ancient instrument, and it's relatively ancient electro-mechanical components combine - with the Leslie speakers - to produce such an iconic set of sounds. Which brings me to a point - please bring the speaker to the forefront as much as is practical. There's something mesmerizing for many of us to see the whirling horns as we hear them!! Awesome rendition of this classic. It's hard to cover for Kath's amazingly guttural voice ... But your rendition has a great edge to it too.
This is spectacular on every level, Lachy Doley! This reminds me of Chicago when they were kids and played at Tanglewood. You would have made the late Terry Kath proud with that singing. And…I watched the sole full concert ever recorded of Deep Purple (Denmark public television in ‘72) and you are outplaying the “Lord” himself. I had the extreme pleasure to see you in the first row in Highwood, Illinois, USA at 210 Live, but sadly, the venue did not survive the pandemic. Good luck with this, LD!!!

Awesome band, great horns an above all that, I see that you have rejoined with mr Barnes, the grooviest drummer on the planet! The resultat can’t be any other than pure, awesome groove with a wonderful edge!!!😃😃😃

Hello,The B3 is like a Stradivarius and they all have their own personalities and experiences, they all sound different and it takes masters to get the best out of them. Thanks to you for delighting our ears.Cheers from Belgium.
I've seen Steve Winwood live several times, and have to say, as best as I can tell, he sings the lyrics somewhat differently each performance. I believe Lachy stayed true to the Spencer Davis Group version. That said.....I'd like to hear you guys "stripped down".......Bass, drums, and Hammond. No backup singers, horns or even guitar. That's the way that song is meant to be. Thanks for posting.......
I saw him tonight with a stripped down band. Lacey, bass player and drummer. Ucking sensational. The drummer in particular was staring at doley and running off him. They were really tight and gave two hours of hot class.
