Great walk through of an inspection and invaluable tips. For instance I wonder how many folks don’t realize that first gear wear you showed is inconsequential while that teeny tiny extra bit of material on the synchro springs can be a big problem.
That’s why the original rebuild guide was created and put up on the web. I coordinated it but many people contributed to it. If you haven’t read the guide with everybody’s inputs it’s certainly worth the read. We did that guide back around 1999 and it was updated several times. I don’t think it’s been touched since around 2005. Many of the people that added their inputs have passed away since then. At least the info is still out there and not lost.
Great series, answered a lot of questions... unfortunately all the answers were "replace the part" or at least in my case... My T90's were both full of water and rust when I disassembled them. th-cam.com/video/_tPDYD9npyo/w-d-xo.html
@@rickstivers3965 The up-side to replacing all the guts is I know I'm going to have a zero time transmission/transfer case to go with the zero time axles and engine... just like a brand new Jeep :)

Unfortunately, I’ve pulled several of those apart myself. It’s usually cheaper to find another transmission than replace all of the parts.
