Friday Night Funkin' is an open-source rhythm game released on Newgrounds in 2020.The game is developed by a small group called The Funkin' Crew Inc., which consists of Cameron "ninjamuffin99" Taylor, David "PhantomArcade" Brown, Isaac "Kawai Sprite" Garcia, and evilsk8r. The game shares some gameplay features with Dance Dance Revolution and PaRappa the Rapper and borrows aesthetic influences from Flash games. The game has been credited with driving users back to Newgrounds, a site whose popularity peaked in the early 2000s.
The game revolves around the player character, Boyfriend, who must defeat a variety of opponents in singing and rapping contests in order to continue dating his love interest, Girlfriend. Gameplay involves hitting notes with timed inputs while avoiding running out of health for the duration of the song.
The game was initially created for the Ludum Dare 47 game jam on October 5, 2020.An expanded demo was released on November 1, 2020, with updates continually released in the following months. A full version of the game backed by Kickstarter, titled Friday Night Funkin': The Full Ass Game, is in development.

this is supposed to be a tribute to divide, the artist who drew fake boyfriend and faker himself's sprites, who sadly passed away during Vs Sonic.exe's development.
RIP Divide, I wasn't aware this was their character... Looks like they did the character justice for sure so that makes me happy.

Lookalike/Yourself Reminded me of someone desiring someone in their life for once to be proud and see things how they see, And live life in their way aswell to see struggles. For those who dont know the opponent, we face in silly billy is an AU of our boyfriend his name is yourself, and we can actually catch a glimpse of his girlfriend named herself. In the AU herself died, and I think she rests in the mic yourself uses.

Did you allow the mod to have all access to your files and stuff? Could be something blocking it like firewall... Idk it just kinda popped up for me and there's also an option on the main menu but I'm not sure.
I had the same problem, all you have to do is search the keyword "garn" in the main folder and it's actually a separate exe file!!
I download the mod, and it gives me different music, it's not the same as the video, I didn't understand it, I wanted to play it so much
