Your emotion, the way you presented this trick...your facial expressions...your charm...the music. Everything came together in harmony and it was beautiful to watch. The magic was just a bonus.
I can see the sleight of hand movements, but it's so well executed that I can't see the actual swaps, nicely done. Also quite unique concept, don't think i've ever seen dice and cards.
Very good routine. It looks so easy to guess how it works, and so easy to do it yourself.... Till you are starting to think about the details. A few moments later you see, that it just looks so easy, because Reuben is extremely good... Just like watching an artist drawing a wonderful picture makes you think, that it is easy... till you try to draw yourself. Wonderful routine, thanks a lot!
A lot of channels rip off performances and post to get views. I always see the name and look for the original owner's channel. Glad i came here. This was great!
it is about just as amazing how your phone could stay "levitated" with a kick stand...image if there was a kickstand on the cards that folds in...like when he tried to blow over the cards and failed because the kick stand did not fold in...so he had to blow again...the rest is him just moving the dice behind the cards...the 4 dice in the card box was a switch when he put the card box away...and just took another one...it was average professional magic...
@@RodZilla11 nope not expert...30% of the time i am confused on how tricks are done...many times i have to go back and figure out how a trick was done...if i can at all...to me this seemed obvious....70-90% of the time i can tell you a way the trick could be done...it might not be the actual way the trick is done...
@@sonaleaguetv7747 You sound like a magician. I love watching the psychology of magic moving on screen. Some of these guys are just absolutely incredible. I have no idea how they do any of it, so its still magic to me. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
Even before Penn said it I thought to myself that I hadn't seen anything like this. I thought I caught a couple of moves but, did it really matter? It wasn't just the technical ability that was selling this trick but the childlike joy of the magician that instilled wonder in the audience. I think this is the most primal quality of magic, it takes us back to being children and makes the world amazing again.
When I first saw this, when I was just becoming interested in magic, I thought this was super beautiful and impressive routine. Since then I've gained way more appreciation for the craft and now watching it again it is even more beautiful and man it would be amazing to see it performed live some day. I also love the graceful way Penn and Teller handled the judging.
amateur magician who just learned the basic version of matrix and I really wish I could piece this together. Any magic that can be done completely without words I feel is just so much stronger.
One thing I love about Penn & Teller, they'll reveal the secrets behind *their* tricks, but they will go to any lengths necessary to make sure they don't reveal anyone else's trick.
Man the posing after the moves is hilarious, audience immediately got into it, dude is seriously talented. Also I love how Jonathon Ross came over trying to poke fun at you (even if lighthearted, dude, not really appropriate timing) and you immediately spun into, “yeah this is how I am, I make fun of myself at times, but I’m pretty great and I want us all to have fun when I perform,” and… there’s really no decent way to make fun of someone after they say something to that effect lol. Nicely handled. (The dice and the host!!)
I thought Teller was going to do the hand in the blender illusion where it grinds his hand up. I never seen anything fishy with this matrix magic routine. Thanks for sharing
I completely forgot I was subscribed to you, this was a nice reminder. I remember watching this trick a couple of years ago as done by you and some gummy bears. Very well done. Been a fan ever since I saw you be an absolute gangster on that one magician’s school video. Best of luck to you and your career, dude.
The music selection is one of the best I have ever heard for a routine. Like a semi serious melody to a toy trick with seeming levitation and the smile, I just started watching magic, and if this doesn't get someone excited, nothing will
I really enjoyed that! I have some idea how matrix is done (I'm not a magician) but I really liked your routine and it was very slick and the misdirection was fantastic!
Really good routine, loved your version of it. A few flashes here and there, mostly dude to nerves I'm assuming :P Well done! The one thing I couldn't figure out is how the cards were held up some of the times. Mind goes straight to gimicked mat, but I hope there's something more :D
probaly the cards have an extra piece from other cards that he can flip up so they sit like that, also you can see he switches the deck when he closes the box, that one already had another matching set of dice in it
I was assuming magnets (I also just really like tricks with magnets, lol) but you’re likely right, that makes sense. Or the cards, since he did have 4 specific ones. Would’ve been even more impressive if he got 4 “random cards” from a deck/had P&T or audience members pick a few cards early on.
It's all in the cards. They have a thing that comes out like a smartphone case stand. The rest is sleight of hand and misdirection. But still looks cool.
Loved how you looked the entire time like someone who wasnt trying to fool pen and teller but like someome who was just wanting to have some fun and show everyone it. Me and my wife loved the act c: Now, another thing i wanted to ask... does that music has a name? Because dam it sounds so cool and smooth.
@@reubenmoreland That's no joke LoL... I cringe; but as one person decent with their fingers to another decent with their fingers, I respect your work and art. God bless :)
I'm sure you've worked on this since but may I suggest you work on the card box switch. It's easy for me here at home, sure, but I saw it straight away and it detracted from the ending. The rest seemed pretty damn solid.
I know how you did this. It looks so natural and seems so simple. So much seems to happen that actually never did. Almost true magic. Like Penn said; This is one for true silence. I somehow missed this one in the original premiere. So glad we have YT to see this.
This trick looks so silly to me… definitely not a P&T grade. Cards have foldable wings on their back bending on blow and their box is replaced at the beginning when closing the toys box. The dice are always in place or moved behind the cards (this is also visibile slowing the speed) and the full deck is clearly picked under the table.
@@reubenmoreland Not only are you awesome with the trick even though one could see when you hold the deck at the end but otherwise this is among the best matrix routines i have seen
It's funny, I get the idea of the matrix, but to execute the whole thing with dice instead of coins is just wonderful. It makes it that much more baffling.
I'm no magic expert but my knowledge of this "trick" and how "it's done" is specifically from watching P&TFU clips (and a few of the people who offer reveals of the foolers) on youtube. But Penn's is totally right that this must be the best version of this ever done.
Great routine but unfortunately the 2 blows at the end with the 4 cards gives away the method. Perhaps a better method could be used in which 4 foot-controlled (or knee controlled) pins under the table that poke up through the mat to elevate the cards. Such a method would be fast, undetectable and allow the use of non-gimmicked cards and so they could be inspected afterward. Great routine though!
love him on Megamind
Damn it, you beat me to it! lmao
Who he voiced in Megamind BTW
2:14 my guy hitting the Senior Portrait pose after every move killed me 😂
Amazing routine by the way. Beautiful presentation 👏🏼
This comment made me laugh throughout the video lol
I love how he blended it up and drank it to protect the secret. What a class show.
and the next day he passed the secret
It was rice paper so perfectly edible
Certain stuff shouldnt be told and that trick even tho strange how it did it no one will ever know..SOLID trick tho

That was my thought too. I understand how and where he's doing what he's doing - mostly - but it's so. damn. smooth!
This guy is great! After each trick he smiles as if he was surprised that it worked! You can tell he just love doing this.
Very beautiful background music very good routine 😊
Such a lovely routine . Brings out the inner child in all of us .
Very interesting performance. There were a couple of flashes but also some crazy sleights. What a ride!
Great routine there Reuben, you never fail to amaze and impress me. Keep up the good work.

Great video, great talent.
What an amazing compliment from Penn (verbally) AND teller (physically enduring the ending scene with the water).
