• EASY and QUICK INSULAT...
Just a quick (for me) hello to my TH-cam friends and family out there, this cold blustery morning! I'm taking a few moments to answer some of your questions! See my Playlist: Ask Me Anything!
Join me for Truelove Family stories (which I have many, as a mother of 10 kids), Mothering Autism, with our Maxwell on our many fun car rides, and Free quilting class and sewing lessons! And as in a 'classroom' setting, my tutorials are approximately 1/2 hour+ long....So Join me in my home sewing room, out and about and trying to make all sorts of quilted goodies! Be aware ~ I like to chat and probably repeat myself over and over, (and stutter sometimes), and if this annoys you, then view elsewhere - but, if patient, you hopefully will learn a new method or technique and get an insight into a very large family and their crazy fun:)
And as always: Love From The Trueloves;)
Thank you for explaining the difference of pressing seams open or to the side. It makes a lot more sense now.👍🏻❤️
It is snowing here in Ontario north of Toronto Canada and it’s freezing cold. Happy to hear Maxwell and Ian are doing better. I love your necklace.
Thanks so much:)
My experience is to press to one side. Occasionally someone will recommend pressing them open, but I realized it makes 4 layers of fabric at every junction. Ive never been happy with results on any project. Thanks for the video!
Hi Jean, been dressmaking for years, started making patchwork quilts 5 years ago, took me ages to get used to 1/4 inch seam. Quilting so precise a different world Im learning all the time. You have been a tremendous help.
Aw thanks so much:)
Technology is good but very frustrating at time.
I was taught by my Mom to press my seams to the dark side.
Thanks Jean, for your knowledge on quilting
So glad that the doctor worked out well for Maxwell.
It's snowing here today on the East Coast, stay safe.
Hi Jean! So glad you hear the guys are doing better 🥰🥰 Glad to hear Maxwell had a good visit with the new Neurologist.
Thanks for answering my question. Glad Maxwell and Ian are doing well.
You are most welcome!! thanks Cindy:)
Love how easily you explain things Jean!!! You’re my hero and go-to gal😊. I also LOVE the winter and chilly weather….
You and me both~!! We can always get warm...but yucko in the hot hot weather!!
You are so good at explaining.
A long armer told me not to press seams open if you are having it quilted. The needle goes between the seams, separating, instead of through the seam allowance.
thank you Amy:)
So glad to hear that Maxwell is now working with a new consultant and that she seems to be right on top of the situation. It is so reassuring when you have confidence in your doc. Glad to hear Ia n is doing well too it must be a load off your mind. Blessings from Wales where we too are awaiting the arrival of a winter storm!
Jean, I too get so exasperated with technology. If you try to pay with cash many cashiers don’t know how to count back change! I’m playing games with my grandkids with change so they will be familiar with it.
Prayers for the Trueloves. Stay safe and warm in these winter weather storms.
Thankyou Jean I can find it hard to stay calm at times, I remind myself someone’s always watching but the camera one is a good one to keep me on track😂
It's a good 'trick' to maintain self control and dignity!!!
Hi Jean! I'm so glad Ian and Maxwell are doing better! So glad Maxwell has another good nuerologist!
Thank you for the informative video. So glad to hear that Ian and Maxwell are doing better - continued prayers for all of you.
So happy Ian and Maxwell are doing better. What a wonder when you change doctors and someone new listens to you! Oh, the reason I asked if decals were removable, in case you wanted to resell and someone didn’t like them. Wonderful news about Ian and Maxwell💕. God Bless.
Yes, we have had a good several days with news with Maxwell:)
I don’t know if we’re getting snow, but we are getting up to - 21 Celsius. Take care Jean 👍❤️😊
Yup! We got about 5 inches :) Ian and Maxwell are clearing the cars right now:)
Not a question, but beautiful necklace you’re wearing today!
Aw, thanks!! :)
Dear Jean, thank you for sharing your experience with Apple Pay . Boy oh boy does that frustrate me. My daughter has shown me how to do it a few times but when I’m on my own in a shop trying to use it I get muddled up somehow. Give me cash anytime! So glad Ian and Maxwell are doing well, take care, love to all the Trueloves.
The tea cosy tutorial was the first video of yours I watched!
Oh!! How about that!! ?!?
We are currently watching the Eagles - Rams game and it’s snowing right on down. BRRRRR!!
They won! Our grandson and his maternal grandpop have season tickets to the Eagles game. He said it was BITTER....but super to be there!!!!!
thx Jean. Coud listen to you all day
Really? I get annoyed at the sound of my own voice!!! LOL!
I’m so glad Maxwell found a good doctor and is feeling better!!! Glad too that Ian is doing well and off the statin drugs, Randy took them for quite a while until I did some research that scared us 😮. Keeping that blood pressure in check is so important, I’m glad the meds are helping him with that! Ethan’s doctor has been trying new medicines on him for the ocd, the first one was awful, so much anxiety he couldn’t cope. He’s just starting a new one, I’m really hoping it goes better. We have our C.O. visit this coming week, really looking forward to that! I feel your pain with the technology stuff, it’s great when it works, but when it doesn’t it’s awful! I’ll have to remember your trick for keeping self control 😂😂😂 hidden cameras 😂 I try to remember that I would rather be wronged in a situation than feel ashamed of how I behaved😅 Love you Jean!!!❤❤❤
Oh we long for that time, very soon, when our boys will never need medication!! We just had our CO too!! Over Zoom for several days because of the weather but it was lovely:)
I wrote a big long comment and it went into cyberspace.
Sorry you had trouble. Someone in every store should be the store know-it-all for these things. A cashier not knowing is not an answer. She should have requested a floor manager.
Glad Maxwell is doing well. And Ian. Thank God.
Oh and the tattoos. Your subscriber (sorry. Forgot her name) can order a sample one and then try to remove it with maybe A goo-Gone or good old lemon oil. I bet it works. Are call them and ask if they want to make that call.
Anyway, enjoy YOUR winter. Here it comes.
Be well and safe and go build a snowman. It is not just for kids any more.
💚💜❤
Thahk you for sharing this valuable information. I do not make quilts yet, but enjoy listening to yo.
You look wonderful yes it’s snowing in CT stay safe
Thank you Kathleen!!
That cashier is paid to ring out customers and assist them. If she was not able to do her you should not feel bad for asking for a manager to help. After the management should know their employees need better training. Sometimes they want you to do what is easiest for them not the customer. Never give in, it’s good for them to know how to do their job. After all, your purchase pays her employment. ❤
You said it just right!! If they don't know how to do something-ASK!! Since there were not many people around waiting, I would have asked "Is there someone here who DOES?"
Great video
I'm so glad to hear that both Ian and Maxwell are doing well! Ive prayed for your family many times, I hope that is okay. 😊❤ Bless your Maxwell for hanging in there with his health. I know how frustrating it can be. You and Ian must be great parents, as your children are so well adjusted, hard working adults. The son that wanted his pants patched talks as much as you. I love that video! I've got 3 people who think I'm invincible with needle and thread. My ex-husband still brings his clothes over to be mended. He doesn't trust anyone else. We parted on good terms, and his wife and I are quite close as well. The 3 of us have had to cut ties with what's left of our respective families. So, we are a family unit. My daughter's finance has discovered I sew a lot. I've done a lot with apparel sewing. I had 3 little girls that were difficult to fit, so I sewed much of their clothing and nightwear. One grandma would purchase fabric for me after discovering I was repurposing clothing from both of our local thrift shops. 😊❤
That is so kind of you to pray for our family. I'm so glad Maxwell has a strong support system.
I am crazy about your necklace!! Where did you get it?
I think it was from TJ Maxx
Bonjour de la France ❤😊Renée
Hi Jean , I have a question. If I use a fleece throw for quilt backing, do I need to layer with batting? Thank you
Depends on you:) If you are pleased with the 'feel' of the quilt with the throw then it's fine, but if you wanted a heavier, warmer but thicker quilt, then add batting. Just be sure your machine and YOU are up to the actual quilting of it!
Thank you Jean . My Juki may be up to but don't know for sure about me . That would probably be a heavy task . ❤
