You'd never guess you were looking at someone who was going to be creating a seamless, octave-sliding wall-of-sound with a 5-string bass shortly after this.
I never would have guessed Misa is so fun and cute outside of the band. From her stage presence, attitude and costume choices, I expected her to be a badass tomboy in her daily life as well. It is heartwarming to see this side of her.
I don't much care for what musicians do in their private lives, but it's always nice to see her smile and enjoy life since that's what she helps us do as well.
Iirc, bass player Laura Lee of Khruangbin said in a New Yorker article that that's one reason she and the guitarist wear wigs for concerts & MVs: they can go out in public without the wigs and nobody recognizes them.
It's nice to see her having so happy with her personal friends. And besides.... Even if I like the figure of the "barefoot Assasin" on stage, I think she is more beautifull without the stage-make- up.

A quality some lose when they get on stage too much. Misa is endearingly chill :)
It seems to me that she's really got some confidence here. Which is interesting in the context. The guy next to her was possibly experiencing that very Japanese emotion where you feel embarrassed for somebody else (kyōkan-sei shūchi, I think, and the Germans also have a word for it, and anybody can feel it). But she didn't even notice, and just had fun. This is what the American art form of rock can do to a person, make them no longer care if others are embarrassed by their actions. Or, in other words, she's cool. She and her band-mates always had the potential to be cool, of course, but in interviews and such, they're often awkward and shy. I think it took ten years of rocking crowds, and a legendary tenth anniversary concert and they've finally gotten there. They're total rock stars. Misa is approaching David Bowie levels of cool. 😃

to be honest she is shoeless (not barefoot) on stage too because she wears fishnets. It's the main reason I say she is a Badass Bass Assassin. Not the other one that 99% of the fan base repeat. 😉
