Awesome review bro!! I was pretty tempted by this one but ended up going with a Stoke because Evolve's support for someone in Costa Rica is still unmatched. I can't ship a board to China for a warranty repair, it'll be cheaper to buy a new board. I'm all about the surfy Carver-style vibe as well! Especially since I only ride at the skatepark (it's illegal to ride in the street here). And you're right, most e-skaters just focus on specs and don't even think about surfskate-style performance or deck durability on tricks, which are WAY more important for me than a board's speed or even acceleration. One thing where we probably look for different things is when it comes to wheelbase. I'm constantly chasing the holy grail of a SmoothStar surf simulator board that is electric. My SmoothStar boards have a wheelbase of around 21", which in my opinion is perfect for a surfskate ride. An Evolve Stoke has a 24" wheelbase, so already much longer, and the front wheels are much further ahead, although it's a different style of truck so that dimension doesn't tell the whole story. I still wish e-skate companies would make some boards that aren't all about commuting stability, and came out with high-performance shortboard models that turn and slide on a dime for critical surf maneuvers on ramps. I want big, long carves on a longboard, but on a shortboard like this, I want to do surf snaps on ramps with an extremely tight turn radius, so shorter is better. But I totally get that the vast majority of riders aren't doing that. Thanks for sharing all this, legend! I hope to try this one someday! 🙌
u the man . i actually enjoy smaller hub eboards. more sleek, light weight. idk if there still makin it or not; but the enskate r3 mini was fun as hell. light weight, fun to carve. decent range, decent speed, and decent power. it used to be only $369. but now i think its more expensive. but i think you might like that too 🫡🤘🏼💯

Make your back truck tighter than your front truck. It will allow you maintain stability at high speed but also really dig rail through your turns even as you’re loosing speed. Back truck tighter because it’s easier to get more weight and pressure over your rear truck. I used to do this to all my downhill and skatepark boards.
This board would have been perfect with the motors in front so they don't scrape so much.. If you use 40T instead of 36T this probably have same torque/power as the other boards? as this tops at 32mph and you don't need that much speed for a "short" board and Stella tops at 28mph and evolve only 22mph. Nice review!
yep ur right. same goes both ways tho. u can do bigger wheels on the evolve for more speed, and smaller pullies from board bumpers, but we both agree top speed is not that important on a kicktail. either way, there all awesome boards 🤘🏼🫡
I know just how you feel about the deck length. I have a revel kit on a 40" deck with a similar shape and a still feel like it needs a couple more inches (I'm also 6'3" and I have some pretty big feet) but I feel like for most people a 38" or 40" deck with a decent kicktail would be perfect
for reference... ive got the stinger and the challenger... these two are similar in wheelbase and deck length but they carve/feel so vastly different... they even share the same dkp trucks... i swapped the bushings for some riptide on the stinger and lowered it with thinner riserpads... i still feel more confident on the challenger when pushing the limits when carving... i really dont know why i feel like that... is it only the deck shape?... the power and range seems unmatched on the stinger in this category of boards....
I have a 2 in 1 acedeck with the phnmatic wheels.. I want to get steet wheels, my delema is should I get different street wheels like 97mm and put the 105 on the acedeck, or get the 105 rubber wheels for the acedeck and leave the 105 on the flow?
What do you do at skateparks? I’ve been thinking about doing this but I feel like I might have the board shoot out from under me when it lands if I’m still on the accelerator. Would be really fun I imagine.
@@TheVeganarchism Go for it!! 😃I ride almost exclusively at the skatepark, I do slides on ramps, grinds on the coping, layback grinds on the battery box,... good boards can do all of that 🤙 Keep the accelerator throttle constant and go experiement!
So I'm 59 years old.i broke my collar bone 10mos ago out on street(hit a tree) during the accident. Needless to say I couldn't wait to keep skating which also means I really don't want to fall...atleast on that shoulder. So at the park I have different lines i use as i circle the park,drop in &out of banks,carve any wall I can ,jam over woopdeedoos,small airs,tons of fun! Just be aware of fellow skaters
Thanks for the advice guys! I have a Propel Endeavor GT with off-road tyres and have used it to carve up and down grass banks - it’s an amazing sensation. Might try it with my short board at a skate park after all.
nice! i actually prefer smaller, light weight, sleeker kicktail boards. i had a backfire mini and a enskate r3 mini and i loved em. they are much less quality, less range, less speed, less power. but that doesnt matter to me if i want a portable sleek board . just my opinion. enjoy the stinger ✅
I ALMOST bought this….. it was in my cart and ready until I came across the Tynee Stinger. Flow ain’t got nothin on the stinger thank god I didn’t make this purchase !!

Flow has 105mm wheels and i think 40T. not many production companies can touch evolves power, throttle smoothness, features and polish.
Sorry I didn't know you replied again. Maybe the ESC in the stoke is mapped to put more power out right away? Idk. But I feel the sweet spot for these cruiser boards is 0 to 25mph, that 20 to 25 deep carve metropolis is gnarly on these boards. And these boards are stable enough to go 30 mph which isn't what they are for but if it can do it why not do it? Most reviews I saw on the stoke people said they would've picked longer range over portability. So are you saying 0 to 20mph the stoke 2 is faster? Or just 0 to 5 or 10. At this point it's a pointless discussion, but I am curious. I didn't mean to sound like I was bad mouthing evolve or anyone whos like them. You were just the first person of many to say that so I was confused. Also for some reason I couldn't find anything about how many amps the ESC for the flow is. Guess it's their secret sauce.
