How was Bryan's Sister aloud on the crime scene 🤔

    • @spiralrose

Brian sisters are both mental health providers… I don’t know why she would be on the crime scene unless she was called in to offer support to the survivors at the moment… The fact that her brother is the murderer or is the suspect suspected of murdering is completely irrelevant… Weirdly coincidental, but completely unconnected

I’m very curious as to how Bryan knew. How did he know they’d be home? How was he comfortable that door dash or something like it wouldn’t arrive mid crime? Is there a cyber trail that would prove he knew they were home because he knew about the door dash order. I think there will be more evidence that comes out of his phone.

@Real, I had a similar experience in college. Woke one night to find a man I’d never seen before in my shared bathroom. I shared that bathroom with three other women and just assumed he was there to visit one of them. I was scared enough to lock my door, but not scared enough to call police. Dylan probably felt the same. As women we are scared of being vulnerable when strange men are around, but that doesn’t mean we feel they are going to kill us right then and there. The man didn’t threaten me, and the man probably didn’t threaten Dylan, so she overlooked it. In hindsight she probably wishes she had reacted differently.

I’m so sick of hearing peoples thoughts on why the surviving roommate didn’t call 911. I used to work in EMS for many years. I was a PAID PROFESSIONAL. On 9-11 I was one of the first medical rescue teams called to the scene .
After those buildings fell and I barley escaped with my life, not knowing if my crew made it…( one didn’t ) , I was basically a zombie for hours. 20 years later, I still have severe PTSD.
My reaction afterwards was I sat on a curb for hours unable to speak. It took years of therapy before I was able to even remember parts of that morning. That’s what shock and trauma does..so to all of you in the peanut gallery saying horrible things…just shut up ….your ignorance is showing.

    • @photina78

      Proof?
On the flip side, 16 yo Dominique Navarro didn't call 911 when she heard her mother being beaten to death in the middle of the night.
She claimed she didn't call 911 because she sat on the end of her bed frozen in fear for 2 hours, then she ran to a neighbor's house who called 911.
8 months later LE found a witness who was present while Navarro and her 18 yo boyfriend plotted to murder her mother.
They were both convicted of murder.
It is possible to lie about being frozen in fear.

Right, so Xana likely had defensive wounds and probably wasn't in bed with Ethan who probably didn't have defensive wounds. But we don't know for sure and won't know until trial. Assuming Xana was in bed with Ethan is based on nothing. BK probably surprised Xana who was wide awake and not in the bedroom or having just entered when he attacked her. Ethan was likely unaware until it was too late, whether he was killed before or after Xana.

  • @LauraVee63
    @LauraVee63 ปีที่แล้ว +10

Here's what I think happened: Killer entered through sliding glass door, directly walking upstairs & quickly killed those two precious girls. Seconds later, he heard the Door Dash delivery and remained quiet upstairs until he heard the front door close. I think he wanted to just walk down those stairs and get out of dodge, but he unexpectedly ran into Xana, killing her while Ethan tried to protect her. He didn't expect Ethan....Xana fought hard..... It all happened so very quickly....he then walked past DM focused on getting out of there as fast as he could and walked out the same sliding door he entered through, and ran to his car while driving off very quickly. That's my take.

I agree with that, but not necessarily the order which could have either way imo. He probably didn't know who was in what brm or that Ethan was there, but I think he killed Xana first and Ethan was out of it. Ethan was found dead in the bed, only Xana wasn't (apparently). I think he saw Ethan as more of threat and killed him more for that reason. the target seems to be one or all of the girls. If it turns out he didn't say anything to Dylan as he passed, he probably didn't see her and this would fit with rumors that he had told others online that he had night blindness. Also, he might have wanted to get out of there to avoid anymore boyfriends behind any more doors and the likelihood that any others in the house were awake at that point, plus just being done.

  • @LaLaLonna

I don't think the roommate heard Kaylee playing with her dog. I think she heard some loud movement and just assumed it was her playing with the dog (maybe that's when the loud thump and whimper happened the neighbors camera caught?) If you just heard rustling around you wouldn't assume someone was being murdered. Your mind would associate it with a normal noise. I also think the only reason Xana and Ethan died was because Xana actually came out of her room or he saw her at her door when he was coming back down. I also think if Ethan was awake BK would of had a bigger fight on his hands. I have a feeling whatever happened to Xana happened quick, and Ethan was prob passed out, they had all gone out having fun and partying that night, and he didn't wake at all or in enough time to get up and fight.
I also think the only reason the Dylan didn't get killed is because she was prob in the shadows and he had tunnel vision heading out, he prob would have been amped up and extremely focused. I cant even imagine what she is going through right now. She obviously wasn't involved so I wish people would stop giving her a hard time. She may have been drunk (nothing wrong with that, you're suppose to go have fun in college) and when she locked herself in her room while she was waiting she passed out.

    • @dreamingrightnow1174
      @dreamingrightnow1174 ปีที่แล้ว +3

This is along the lines of what I was thinking, except I was thinking he killed X/E first and that she probably wasn't in the bedroom, since she had ordered food. I think E was completely out of it too and that's why he was killed in bed, while Xana was on the floor. I"m thinking maybe BK was in the house slightly before the food came and that noise helped to mask his movements. I agree the main point is that Dylan's brain would naturally assign normal activity to the sounds she was hearing, but she may have just felt a little unsettled anyway. Like some people do about bumps in the night, while others don't. An interesting thing I picked up on Reddit (I think) is that in posts BK made a few years ago, he said he had night blindness, which could explain why he walked by Dylan's door. He was exhausted too probably (his pings, etc show he likely hadn''t slept for 24+ hours) and just wanted to get out of there and carry on with disposing of evidence. The mob is going after Dylan because the mob is also a psychopath. People need to stop joining in with it. This is exactly why we have a history of stringing lynchings in this country. Same dynamic.

When I was in my early twenties I had separated from my husband and lived in a house with two small children. One night I fell asleep on the sofa. Suddenly, I was awoken with an unknown man's hand over my mouth saying, "Don't scream I have a knife!" He next pulled me off the sofa and began choking me from behind. I fought like crazy. Suddenly my young daughter woke crying, "Mommy!" He stopped, smashing my face into the floor. I saw him flee, jumping out my dinning room window head first. He had cut the screen. I didn't call the police until hours afterward. My children were young, I didn't want to awaken them. I didn't call until after I had taken them to daycare and I had gone to work. At the time the police that came to speak with me didn't really believe me, because I waited so long to call. The point I'm trying to make is, you have no idea what Dylan's reasons were. It must be buried in that rural area somewhere. It’s a large area to cover. The knife is metal they can use hand held metal detectors on ground that looks to be disturbed. Also can satellite technology help. Satellites have been used in other criminal investigations before. If one cases warrants the use of it again it’s this case for sure. He may have also disposed of it immediately after the murders on his ride home. His phone was turned off for two hours after the murders. I had 2 horrific things happen in my life, I had a miscarriage at 5 months where the baby was tiny but looked like a baby and the hospital slid it off the table into a trash can, I went into a coma for 2 days, the other my son was hit by a car and seeing how hurt he was, I passed out and came to about 1/2 hour later with medics working on me. I honestly think it's a little weird that she kept opening her door when she was hearing certain phrases and certain things but never walked out there. I just feel like most people don't think something horrific like that is going on so they're Natural Instinct would maybe be to go check it out thinking that it's nothing crazy like that or if you don't I would think maybe after the first time hearing something you wouldn't go open the door again after that, just thinking nothing of it. I'm not sure if that makes sense but I feel like she had to have an idea that something was wrong if she kept opening the door to hear what was going on but never went out there. Why she didn't call 911 is a little weird to me too if she did have access to a phone. I would think even in shock or in fear the Instinct would still be to get help

It’s not to say she was in on it like the defense lawyer said. It’s questioning if she saw what she claims. It was a party house so she was used to random people. Why freeze if she didn’t suspect a problem. The defense wants to create doubt. So I see their line of thinking is ‘he saw you, you saw him, why didn’t you call if you felt threatened after you came to your senses’. Why call your friends instead of LE and allow your friends to enter the home’, were you intoxicated or under the influence’ or dreaming. This is a crazy case but I wouldn’t be surprised with some unexpected declaration. 🤨

She didn’t benefit from the picture that we have now discussing the situation. She was in it! She froze. She locked her self in her room. She might’ve tried to call friends who never picked up. Having people come & go at all hours of the day & night is probably the standard quo in the home. I am sure that each roommate doesn't report every visitors coming & goings to one another. Its young college students for christsakes. I am sure there was a lot of late night hookups going on there. So, to see a guy wearing a mask (yes, some people still are wearing masks bc of covid) leaving a shared roommates house in the middle of the night. Where there was no screaming, yelling &/or frantically calling out in the ether for help! Why would this young woman immediately freak out & hit the panic button & call 911? Yes, She froze when She saw the guy, a stranger to Her in the house. But, She really had no reason to jump to a conclusion of anything criminal going on . Its not like She said She saw the guy leaving with a TV &/or stereo to surmise He was a robber, let alone a guy who just murdered 4 ppl. Persons who are questioning & making a big deal of this, like you are, are nothing more than zealots who either forgot what it was like to be young, had roommates or just plain ole nosey *"Gladys Kravitz"* who calling the 🚔 over every lil infraction! Why do people keep assuming that DM knew Brian had murdered anyone? The affidavit only states that she saw him walking past. It doesn't say she said she saw a knife or blood or bodies. And people keep forgetting that it has come out that their house was known as a party house and often filled with strangers. She only states she was creeped out and locked the door. She probably had no idea what had just happened, and had no reason to call 911. She didn't hear screaming, she didn't hear calls for help, she didn't hear anyone say "I'm being stabbed! Help!" She heard some noises that she thought were familiar and similar to other experiences she had while living in that house with those roommates, and therefore was not alarmed. There was no reason, from her perspective at that moment in time, to call 911. Unfortunately, she has probably been beating herself up since that night, and now she's probably being virtually beaten up by the masses who are judging her for inaction when we only NOW have the advantage of knowing what was happening at that moment.

Her claiming she thought she was dreaming IS NOT GOING TO CUT IT IN COURT.
The defense is going to absolutely grill witnesses on 1. Inconsistencies in testimony/hypocrisy and 2. Failure to render due aid with a potential 3rd Q. of Aiding and abetting.
The prosecution better hope they have more DNA than just that sheath. The DNA on that sheath comes back to his father and is considered latent (touch) DNA, which is often dismissed as evidence in court due to its inaccuracy. You’d be surprised how many cases I’ve been involved in that have turned around based on technicalities like that. The phone pings in/around the home also are not enough, nor is the car. He could have been picking someone up. Dropping someone up. Seeing someone. This case could go either way and both sides are going to have a very hard time with this trial.
Again, the defense is going to ask about 1. Inconsistencies in testimony/hypocrisy and 2. Failure to render due aid with a potential 3rd Q. of Aiding and abetting.
Other questions that will be asked:
I remember Bryan’s downstairs neighbor reporting that he’d seen Bryan come home with a girl a couple times and could hear them talking from his apartment. Who was that? He seemed to know his way through the house so fluidly - knew exactly which bedrooms to hit. How?
The “frozen shock phase” is a survival response and the brain wouldn’t have even thought to lock the door in that state. That’s not how the freeze response works.
He just so happened to ignore *that* bedroom (the closest one to the stairway and the sliding door) THREE TIMES and went into the far one? How were his dark eyebrows seen so well in the dark? How was his physical build when he was wearing all black seen in the dark? No footsteps were heard going up or coming down the HARDWOOD stairs right next to *that* bedroom?
One more time: the defense WILL grill on 1. Inconsistencies in her testimony/hypocrisy and 2. Failure to render due aid with a potential 3rd Q. of Aiding and abetting.
That’s the REALITY of this. It is NOT victim-blaming to question what does NOT MAKE SENSE. “Dreaming” isn’t going to cut it in court.
Furthermore, the family who keeps going to the media really need to cut it out and stop while they’re ahead. They’ve already hurt the prosecution calling the police “inadequate” and numerous other atrocities. I wouldn’t put it past them to call out the mother/sister for all the makeup either. I’ve seen it happen before. They need to be careful.

On page 4 of the affidavit (I think) it says “D.M. Stated she ORIGINALLY went to sleep in her bedroom on the southeast side of the second floor.” Next sentence says, “D.M. Stated she was awoken at approximately 4am….” It is very interesting the chose of words for that first sentence, where they say D.M stated she ORIGINALLY went to sleep in the room mentioned…. Perhaps after seeing the killer she hid in her closet in her room with her bedroom door locked (maybe he even tried to get in after she shut the door… we don’t know) and she hid in her closet for hours terrified to come out…. Perhaps she did eventually come out and saw Xana and Ethan and freaked out again and hid in a different place…both times she didn’t have her phone on her and she was too scared to come out of hiding to find it…this would account for the wording of “originally” went to sleep in her room….It would make sense if they said she originally went to sleep at a certain time but then was awoken …. But they specifically say she originally went to sleep in a certain location…. Which means there must of been another location that wasn’t the original…at least that’s how I read it…Also, if she believes the killer to still be in the house- she may have been scared to make a phone call to 911 in case the killer was still in the house and heard her…. I know I would hide wherever for however long and try to keep quiet if I witnessed what she probably did….I really hope she can get past this one day and I hope there aren’t cruel people out there making it worst for her … 24:42

Interesting enough the serial killer The hunter went free for most of his life and someone did 20 years jail time innocently. I agree with you, I really truly believe she was terrified and hiding and if she phoned the police, her survival instinct told her he would find her by hearing the phone call. Dylan not calling is actually understandable if you stop to think from her perspective.
In Dylan’s mind she was only 1 of 6 roommates…it’s highly likely she simply thought if there was an issue someone else would’ve spoke up, done something.
The farthest thing from her mind was that that person just killed 4 out of 6…leaving her and one more alone.
She may have thought intruder was just some weird frat guy doing some strange prank or a weird guy the girls brought him from the bar? Wearing all black I doubt there was any blood showing..and it’s not like she says she heard screams of terror. She heard whimpering and crying and followed by someone say “I’ll help you”.
I believe the next morning upon seeing bodies..Dylan ran outside and passed out hyperventilating just before 911 operator couldn’t hear details…neighbor or friend took over the call but as survivors were in such shock..didn’t know about bodies yet…therefore the call was for Dylan and/or Funk being unconscious.

Everyone of those girls had their own bedroom with the keypad lock and the rest of the house was pretty much common area. Hey man, I have been in situations where I have felt something weird happening in my neighborhood and I kept peeping out the window but no way in hell was I going out there to investigate. Her intuition was probably screaming 'danger!' and there was no way she was going to leave her room, but she kept anxiously peeking out hoping nothing was happening whenever she heard something odd. Anyone with anxiety will avoid that which they fear. So, it is likely that she was terribly anxious the next morning and didn't want to go outside her door because she was afraid of what she would see. And, she was likely terrified that the person would come back. She probably debated calling the police, as the dispatcher would likely have asked her why she thought something happened, and then would ask her to go look, and she didn't want to. So, she avoided the whole situation by hiding in her room until someone came over.

First of all, if DM would have called 911 the second she saw the intruder, it would not have changed the outcome since he was on his way out of the house having already stabbed the 4 students and by that time they were dead I think. While we have no way of knowing that for sure, I would bet he made sure of that before he left. The police had slim to no chance of catching him leaving the scene unless there happened to be a patrolman in the area at that particular time, which is unlikely. Also, I think it's important to remember that this young girl had no way of knowing what had occurred and was likely in self preservation mode just because she had seen a stranger in the house. Nothing she could have done at that point could have saved the lives of her roommates and blaming her for what she may or may not have done is not only unwarranted and cruel, but it will never bring them back.

As for seeing someone she didn't recognize in the hallway; Is that so unusual for a known party house, with people in and out of the place all the time? I've thought about this a lot too. How many times do we watch "thrillers" or horror movies that are based on an omniscient monster stalking and killing a helpless woman? We're conditioned to think the monster will win in any contest and women are the prey.

Amazing that the prosecution doesn’t have to prove motive of the killer but the roommate is getting crucified by a lot of Karen’s over what motivated her actions. Let it go, she’s a victim and is not on trial.

If Bryan went towards the roommate, she had the chance to close her door, and the hall was dark

Hind sight is 20/20!! The guy explained it well. When she heard what she did and then saw him. Im sure the last thing on her mind was that he just stabbed 4 people!! She was probably freaked out then didn’t hear anything else and by that time it was close to 439am she most likely fell asleep and didn’t ever think she would wake up to what she did. Al of us are commenting on it after we know what happened. None of us can say what we would or wouldn’t do. Im just so over so many folks coming down on her!!! Imagine the trauma and the amount of survivors guilt she has!!!!!!!

I have heard so many people trying to blame the surviving roommate for not calling the police!! I don't understand it. THANK GOD she was not killed because tho she is going to need years of therapy she will be an intricate piece of the puzzle. Why this happened? I don't think he will ever really say I think he is so full of himself. I pray this will be a death penalty case because anything short of that is disrespectful for the parents, survivors and most importantly the victims. Thoughts and prayers to everone this senseless tragedy affected. 📿🙏💔💔

2nd) Asking why she didn't call 911 is simply a question ya goof

I agree with somebody freezing up when they see something but why did it take six hours for that person to wake up the other roommate and go check on their roommates?

These are young college kids from homes that may not have ever had to call the police for anything. Very different from kids that grow up in rough neighborhoods that have to call police for crimes against them, family, friends, property, etc. very different worlds. She was in shock and in survival mode. Be mindful of your hurtful comments. These kids are not use to the violence that kids in some neighborhoods are unfortunately experiencing. It will shock someone who never experienced a break in, witnessed an assault, etc. versus those that see awful behavior almost daily and hear gunshots daily, etc. Your background experience does matter when you get out in the world.
