Hi there! I'm back with a super fun video for you. A Madewell try-on and review. Today is the last day to get 25% off for Insider's and 40% off all sale items.
I used to love Madewell, but then they went the way all good brands go eventually- down Plastic Road. From silk to polyester, cashmere to acrylic, etc. I can’t wear any of those synthetic fibers. Like Banana Republic, last autumn and winter they had fabulous all-wool blazers and long coats with breathable rayon linings, and genuine leather/suede clothing, then in the spring and summer it was all polyester crap, I don’t want to shop there anymore. If you say Madewell is getting better, I’ll check it out - it used to be a great brand.
You're not wrong at all. But thankfully, with the new designer Shawn Reddy, there will be more premium fabrics. Did you watch the video? I talk a little bit more about that and share fabric content of the items I'm trying.
@@MariaNicoleStyle thanks friend! I think you would love Madewell. Let me know if you end up trying them out. Right?! Their bags and boots are so good.
My daughter and I used to be big Madewell shoppers. They offered classics with a twist, but they changed style direction, which my daughter and I didn’t care for. It’s unfortunate because I have some items of clothing that are at least 15 years old. Everything has a dropped shoulder which to me is just messy and lazy tailoring. Some things with dropped shoulders are okay but not everything. Hoping to see a better style direction.
@@robynwells8249 interesting take! I hadn’t noticed that. Definitely check out their full range. They have lots of structured pieces and will probably start getting more with their new designer.
They all look great! Love all the bags, the hollow and baggy jeans (they don’t look too baggy on camera 😅), the square neck tank, trench and barn jacket! The shoes look great too though I am not a fan of their shoes. Thank you for sharing ❤❤❤
@@L-3-L-3 amazing. So glad you liked it. Thank you for watching. Love getting to share some feedback with you guys. Those baggy jeans were so loose. I could have pulled them off my hips. Haha 🤣
@@L-3-L-3 hehe. 😉 to each their own! Everyone’s foot is so unique. I personally love my Everlane ballet flats. They are incredibly comfortable, but I’ve been a lifelong lover of ballet flats.
I only like 100% cotton jeans, too. Even 1% elastane make denim go baggy almost as soon as I put them on. I really hate elastane in anything, I wish brands wouldn’t use it, ever. It’s never necessary, knits are naturally stretchy because of the way they’re made, regardless of the finer used, they don’t need elastane. The first swimsuits, for example, were made of wool jersey (knit), they didn’t need anything else. I especially hate t-shirts and marinieres (Breton tops) with elastane, I hate my full bust being squeezed. Trying to get elastane-containing clothes of and on can be a battle, too, because they cling so much. The more the elastane and/or polyester, the cheaper the fabric and the worse it will look and perform.
Good question. They make one that’s a little bit smaller too. I’m almost 5’9”. You can also shorten the strap or check quince. They have one that is similar and slightly smaller.
I love the rosewood vest EXCEPT the armholes are too big. Armholes that fit under the arm are much more flattering. They visually lengthen the body and eliminate any underarm "muffin" thus creating a slim, neat appearance. This vest would be so cute if it fit better!
Many really wealthy people I know care less about the social implications of buying fakes. Plus, they might look down on "hillbillies" who spend so much money on a ridiculously overpriced bag. With luxury brands once again raising prices and limiting inventory, the replica version of luxrul is even more attractive.
@@BakalaChort thanks for sharing your insights. I should note that the Madewell bag is not a one for one copy. It’s more of a situation of being inspired by a certain style.

Welcome back! I am a dedicated Madewell shopper as I always identify with the clothes
Oh thank you 🙏 glad to be back. Love that you’re so dedicated. What’s your favorite thing from Madewell?
@@BriLamberson I would have to admit it’s jeans. I am older & they
@@BriLamberson have younger fits rather than where my friend shop (Talbots…not for me)
@@Darry4645 oh for sure! Talbots has a few good pieces now and then but overall it’s for a different worldview (in my opinion).
@@Darry4645 love the jeans! So many good cuts for us to choose from.
Great video Bri! I've never shopped at Madewell but you've opened my eyes to it. I loved the cuffed jeans on you and that suede bag was gorgeous. xo

LOVE the brown suede shopper tote! Just had to order it ❤
Oh yay! Isn’t she divine?! Thanks for sharing. Hope you enjoy it.
The cuffed jeans looked great 👌🏽
Oh thank you! They were fun. I think one of the better styles they have.

Oh me too. It's just hard for me to go back to anything else. You're 100% correct.
I feel cotton jeans go baggy too, just differently. D:
What size was the car coat? True to size? Also how tall are you?
It was TTS. I’m almost 5’9” and was wearing a small.
Many Many Congratulations Dear Brianna on 20K Subscribers🥹🥹🩷🩷🎂🎊💫 and you deserve many more to come and I missed your videos a lot
Thanks 🙏 so much!! You’re too kind. I appreciate that. ❤ and I appreciate you for being here.
Everything you tried on looked great. I wish they had a store in my country because the duties are so high it isn’t worth it to ship.
Oh no. That’s a bummer. I think there might be a few other international retailers. Have you googled?
How tall are you? I love that tote bag but I’m wondering if it might overwhelm me since I’m petite (5’2”).

That barn jacket collab is gorgeous!! May I ask what size you're wearing in the try-on? Thinking of getting it before the sale ends...
I think I’m taking my normal size small and they run tts in my opinion. Sadly I think that the collab piece is not included in the sale.
@@BriLambersonNooooo! The suede bags + belts + shoes are also not on sale 😑
But thank you for the reply!

Hey there ! Are you partnered with madewell ? If so is it legit. I just got asked to partner with them and am a bit skeptical
No not partnered at all.

Agreed! When I sized down the bust was pulling. Didn’t love the fit. But it just be my body shape.
