    Agree with most you say, had mine for 3 years now and absolutely love it. Engine braking is subjective and your riding style will dictate. I prefer gear changes to braking in most circumstance and for me the engine braking is suoerb and allows. Real handy in mountain twistes great rider control.

    It fits a 5ft2 person too, I own one myself. Great video!

    As a person who has been riding for decades, this bike seems awesome. That motor has already proved touring (versys) and speed (ninja). Lightweight and comfortable, so power to weight really kicks it up out of its class. I am interested to see how it looks as you modify it. Have fun and good luck.

    That is actually a nice bike. I would tie down the control cables to the handlebars and put the mirrors below the handlebars. But I like it

      Thanks man! I plan on it, but I am going with different mirrors and apes. I plan on doing it all then

    I bought the touring version. Love it to bits.

    Great video. But a few corrections that I'd like to make:
    1. Ergo fit can accommodate even people who are much shorter than 5'6 in height.
    2. There are only 2 handlebar options, not 3. But there are 3 footpeg and 3 seat options.
    Great bike. Mine clocks at 10,000km and I have had loads of fun riding it. My only gripe about it is the lack of a slipper and assist clutch.

    The Vulcan 650 is a nice bike! Well worth the money! I did a review on it too! 👍 Had some slight upgrades to it too!

    Im seriously considering the Vulcan s. I am coming from big sport bikes and want to go to something with more comfort like a cruiser (im closing in on my 50s), but i want the performance of a sport bike. I think the Vulcan s would be perfect.
    I am also considering the z650rs also. Love the look of bike. Its a tough choice.
    Thanks for the vid!!

      Dawg, I just posted this above, but here ya go. The engine braking is caused by the mapping in the ECU. If you have your ECU remapped this issue will be cured. I have a Versys 650, same engine. Remapping smoothed out all the stock engine issues. Hope this helps. BTW it's not cheap but it is worth it. Don't cheap out and try those aftermarket plug-in, waist of time and money.

      @josephbania4564 my Ninja 400 and Ninja 1000 were the same way. They also had that snappy throttle. I believe it has something to do with the emissions crap. I currently have a KLX300 dualsport and I installed the fuel controller and aftermarket exhaust. Bike runs so much better. I'm either going to get the Vulcan or the z650rs within the next 2 weeks. Thanks so much for the advice.

      @josephbania4564 I just got my Vulcan s Tuesday. You weren't kidding with the engine braking. It really let's you know when you down shift 😅
      I'm going to eventually do what you said. I'm just going to have to get used to it in the meantime.

    Great video dude. I'm considering buying a 2019 Vulcan as my daily commuter in the city. What do you think? Is it up for the task or the suspension is not that comfortable for that?

    My biggest pain is the engine braking too. Any fix for it?

    • @beginnersgarage3542
      @beginnersgarage3542  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was told that if you send your ECU to get flashed that it will completely do away with the engine braking. Obviously there’s other perks also. I recommend to everyone to join the Kawasaki Vulcan 650 group on Facebook. Real nice group of people with a lot of helpful information!

    i hate that this bike is only a 650cc. I came from a 750 kawi and with a passenger, I can't imaging how much slower this would be.

    • @beginnersgarage3542
      @beginnersgarage3542  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a good big all around but there is a big difference in power when you go from a leader bike to this

    • @kurgon1976
      @kurgon1976 ปีที่แล้ว

      @beginnersgarage3542 I'm not sure what a leader bike is? I had a zr750 kawasaki perfect size, but I wouldn't want to go smaller. Which is a shame because otherwise I would be 100% on getting a Vulcan

      @@kurgon1976 leader bike is a 1000 or bigger. They are coming out with a 1000 Vulcan next year. I like the bike but not enough to buy the 1000. My new one will be a R1 or S1000RR
