    Seems non-complaint as the corner gaps (bond breaker) were not filled with flexible sealant before putting the waterproofing membrane. This is as per AS 3740 - 2010

    Same as Courtney's recent comment below, I need to waterproof a plywood floor. Mine is for a campervan shower tray, can I use 38FC and then use gripset weather seal over the top for a white finish?

    If water gets under tiles there will be long term problems. Good luck with a bit of paint on the subfloor

    why use perimeter bondbreakers when sikaflex is available then 1 good coat of multithane . works great!

    • @GripsetIndustriesPTYLtd
      @GripsetIndustriesPTYLtd  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Sikaflex is solvent based sealant and apart from been hazardous to your health the product is not compatible with water based products.
      Unlike sealants Gripset Elastoproof B50 Joint band requires no drying time to overcoat, has up to 100% elastic recovery and rupture resistant its compatible with all 3 membrane classes and also unlike sealants is developed solely for this purpose. Multiphane is solvent based and would not work great for project in video as its specified as a bonded system and there will be a membrane over screed for direct tile as your probably aware solvent based membranes do not allow cement based products like screeds and tile adhesives to bond and there would be a high risk of failure. Thanks for watching!

    So, I take it, vinyl flooring cement will stick to this material and can be painted over on the walls where it sticks up above the edge trim board.

    Hi,
    Was there a fall towards the puddle flange or did you just apply first coat of waterproofing and then you may also use another puddle flange ontop and tie it into the screed???
    Just thinking if water does penetrate, will it just sit stagnant?
    Can anyone help me with this query, as im about to waterproof my shower and been watching all the Gripset vids and looking abit of clarity.

    • @georgemariolis5288
      @georgemariolis5288 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For further clarity, ive got a wall to wall shower, with a 90mm curb to entrance. At the moment the whole area is lined in cement sheet, puddle flange is recessed in just below the cement sheet level and the cement sheet is mounted directly on the yellowtongue flooring beneath, sitting perfectly level.
      Theoretically, water will never leave the shower area as the curb will always keep it within, but im worried about stagnant water not finding its way to puddle flange.

    I understand using a bond breaker on the wall to floor junctions. But shouldn't you also use a bond breaker on the joins in the flooring substrate - not a reinforcing bandage lie you did in this video?

    • @GripsetIndustriesPTYLtd
      @GripsetIndustriesPTYLtd  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      hi vzgsxr, CFC sheet installed in this video was epoxy joined and sealant applied prior to membrane application, Gripset Elastoproof joint band could have been used to seal and act as a bond breaker. Thanks

    Is there fall to the puddle flange? Or is the floor level with the puddle flange?

    • @GripsetIndustriesPTYLtd
      @GripsetIndustriesPTYLtd  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Wan, The Puddle Flange is installed to the substrate which is typically flat. Falls to the waste achieved by laying of a screed.

      @martd8792 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are gripset membranes specifically the 38fc and the Xpress, how are they with ponding water and re emulsification?
      Imo I would like to see the satisfactory falls created on the substrate using a gripset 11y and DM feather screed mix and then prime and waterproof over that?

    • @w37320
      @w37320 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@GripsetIndustriesPTYLtd If the floor and membrane is flat, isn't this non compliant to AS3740? Section 2.3.1 states 'Where a floor waste is required in a wet area, the membrane shall be applied to a substrate with a minimum 1:100 fall towards the floor waste'.
      I would think there is risk of ponding if the membrane is flat.

    • @GripsetIndustriesPTYLtd
      @GripsetIndustriesPTYLtd  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@w37320 Hi Will, this is correct. This is one of the notable changes to the 2021 standard. The membrane must be applied over a graded surface with fall to alleviate any ponding. All Gripset wet area membranes are resistant to re-emulsification once cured. Thanks for watching :)

      Hi Cain, Mark edges of flange with a pencil, use a cup grinder to create the recess to the nominal thickness of the flange. Glue flange to pipe and floor surface.
