    To everyone commenting that the TV is not centered, this has long since been corrected since I published the video - the bracket is very adjustable and it was pushed slightly to the right. And most of this video is shot with ultrawide camera so it looks a bit tiny and easier to see position on the wall, but in real life, if you can see it now, its pin-point perfect 👌
    Thank you for watching! ❤

      Thank you, because of the floor light bars the first thing I noticed was the set was off-centre to the room and I thought quite distracting
      To be brutally honest personally I would have gone the smaller light bars and attached them to the bottom of the tv set
      Sometimes less is more

      People need to start placing their TVs in their room according to viewing distance, no point in getting a 55 inch TV if it's 15 feet across the room, it utterly defeats the purpose. Either get a bigger TV or suck it up and take the TV off the wall and place it on a table and move it closer, or move your seating arrangement much closer to the television.

    I have the light strip which is great, and I just got the synch box, but the fact that you:
    1. Can't somehow connect it to your TV Smart Apps is a deal-breaker
    2. Cannot feed your UHD 4K Blu Ray player in Dolby Vision also a deal-breaker
    It does look sick, just seems like they need to get the tech a bit better before we can move forward w/ the setup.

  • @TheWDWMrWomble
    @TheWDWMrWomble 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Well I have my setup in progress. Not bothering with the floor lights, though I did feel they needed to be less bright as it seemed the more intense light was at the edges of the room. Another cool demo though, can't wait to get my system hooked up

    • @TrendingReviews
      @TrendingReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I had intensity at its highest level, but on the app, you can soften it and make it lighter and smoother, so it doesn't seem so harsh. But thank you! Good luck with your setup 👌🏻

    Thanks for the amazing walkthrough. I love this video. I have a few questions: 1- why do you need a hue hub and the Phillip synch at the same time? Seems excessive. Why can’t the Phillips synch also control the lights? 2- the lack of hdmi 2.1 and earc integration and internal tv apps is pretty lame. Amazon and Netflix apps are all included with the tv. Having to use one box per app is pretty lame.

    • @TrendingReviews
      @TrendingReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thank you for the feedback!
      1. No Philips lights work without the bridge/hub unfortunately, hence why its a requirement. Part of their connective ecosystem.
      2. That's been the single biggest problem with this box - lack of HDMI 2.1 and Dolby Vision support, which they claim to have released an update for, but I haven't tested this. But either way, it still won't work with in-built TV apps, which is a pain. Every TV has all apps in-built now, but if you use this, you have to connect something like an Apple TV, FireStick device to be able to sync all the lights with the apps. Hopefully 1 day in the future someone will invent something that can work with anything on the TV itself, and not external HDMI connected devices.

    • @or1057
      @or1057 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you have the Philips ambilight Tv all you need is a bridge to connect your lights this no hdmi 2.1 issues but if you don't have a Philips ambilight Tv then you have issues such as need for play box best solution buy the ambilight, I nearly bought a c1 then instead bought a 2nd ambilight cos them TVs are too good

    • @42_universe
      @42_universe ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed, this has absolutely obviated the sync box hardware. It's worthless - most smart TVs today are never set up with an extra box as everything is built in. Very disappointing but the floor lamps could still be used for mood lighting and as part of scenes.

    • @TrendingReviews

      Good question - after having used it after all this time, I still enjoy it more and more with the whole experience. One thing to remember is that via the app, you can control the brightness and the sync levels of the lights to much lower, so they dont feel distracting at all - it can be adjusted to be calmer, smoother and lighter in brightness - you always have the options to control it however you think works best.

If I need to use my phone all the time for ligjts to sync this sucks..just got my ligjts yesterday and after playing with it for about 5 hours they don't sync with netlix?Netflix?? I think it's because I was using the Netflix button on sony tv remote instead of streaming it through my phone or something else?? There is gotta be a better way instead of using my phone:(

    • @TrendingReviews
      @TrendingReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Luis. The HDMI Sync box doesn't sync colors from your TV itself - it will only sync colors via devices that are connected to the Sync box only, for example, your PS5 or Switch. So all the apps in-built into your TV won't sync with the lights with this box, or any other HDMI sync box on the market. The only way to light up colors of your TV apps with a lightstrip is using something like the Govee Immersion Light Kit, which I have a video review on also - but that requires you to attach a camera to the top of your screen so it looks at your screen and displays the colors back to the lights.
      Hope that helps.

      I’m currently setting up my sync box and lights and yes you have to have a separate source like Apple TV to stream your apps . It won’t play with the Netflix app on your tv . Now I have to spend an additional 200 bucks .

    • @TrendingReviews

      Not at all - you have to remember that the light intensity and brightness is fully controllable on the app. It can be very light and dim so it doesn't disturb your movie, or super intense, like if you playing console games.

    Hey I want to purchase one but my big doubt is that seen as I have slow internet will the light be delayed with the image ? Thanks

    • @TrendingReviews
      @TrendingReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! The sync box is not related to your internet, but its more about the connection it retains with your Hue Bridge, as thats what is driving the colour sync - the only thing that could cause problems is whatever HDMI device you connect to the Sync box, will most likely be using your internet (like Amazon FireStick or Apple TV), so if thats slow, your lights will work but just be slow to change if your content on the TV buffers. Hope that makes sense?

    • @TrendingReviews

      The lights don't sync with directly with the TV itself, but it has to be something inserted into the Philips Hue Sync HDMI box using the HDMI port - for example, an Apple TV or Firestick.
      In the app, you can adjust the intensity of the lights, to make the brighter or darker, yes.
