thanks brother, just fixing to do this on a buddies truck. Im a Toyota tech, and had to check out how someone else did it because I was dumbfounded that there is not a drain bolt, figured that rubber thing is where you filled it obviously but I was still hoping it was just a cover for a fill bolt. good to know!
If it had two tags on the diff one of them is for the limited slip additive, and yea they break all the time. Also if that fluid doesn’t come out a little red then whoever serviced it last made a mistake. Looked nice and red immediately.
They make a gasket that will fit so you don’t have to use rtv I got one for mine to go through all that work just to put rtv back on is too much for something you have to regularly service not to mention the wait time with rtv
