Just getting caught up on videos. Great video, great explanation of flushing. Do you get that feed somewhere in Oklahoma or do you get it in Texas? On to your next video
Hi Josh, with leaving the bags open do you have a problem with the varmints getting into the feed? Thank you for explaining about flushing the goats. I have only seen this done with a sheep channel I watch. Thank you for sharing! Hugs and love to you and your family. ❤️✝🤗 Have a beautiful and blessed week. God Bless ❤️✝🤗
Right now while the grass is green we don’t feed. We flush a month before breeding then a month before kidding we feed it. We feed a little while kids are nursing too. Thanks for watching
Thank you. Most are 100% I have a few purebreds & commercial too. I look for mothering ability taking care of kids & milking ability. I look at frame & growth too. Thanks for watching
@@BoisDArcKikos Dumb city woman here - are you saying that it is a mixture of chopped up corn (stocks or heads of corn?) and fermented oats? Trying to figure out how I could make it. Don't know who would have it in my area.
Hey Josh, love the channel, hoping to start posting more goat stuff on mine, actually fixing to get me a few NZ kikos and am super excited, keep up the good work, God bless
Do you do anything for your bucks to prep them for breeding? Copper bolus, vaccine boosters, feed changes? I'm new to goats this year andcill be getting a few kikos in a couple weeks. We also have LaManchas I'll be breeding in the Fall.
I have a question if you don't mind. I have limited acreage and can't rotate effectively but to help control parasites would a dry lot with good hay and grain as needed work as basically nothing on the ground to eat? Thanks. Great goats and operation you have.
Good information! We have been feeding our does/bucks every other day some grain along with pasture...we want to breed in December, so we have April kids...so should we up the feed to daily 2 weeks before breeding as well? Also loved seeing Cowboy's Dad out there...Cowboy is just a great lgd...very very pleased with him!
New subscriber. Love your feeding system. Metal troughs are so much better than plastic (I don't own goats, but my friends do; and their goats have broken so many plastic feeders.)
@@BoisDArcKikos - I care for a disabled woman (wheelchair bound) who still wants to homestead - she wants to get some goats for clearing the underbrush in the forest we live in. I think she wants to get Spanish goats. Says they need nothing but a LGD to watch over them. I feel they will need *some* care. Do you have any insights to share? They will not be my goats, and I'm not keen on having to care for them, but once they get here, I know I'll step up to the plate.
How is your brindle male Puppy you got at the sale
He’s doing good. Learning a lot.
Thanks for watching
That’s new to me. You have the LGD wearing the bell?
No the lead herd goat wears the bell

Thank you. I appreciate you watching. I got it from Durant Oklahoma
What is the one long-haired nanny?

We don’t have problems with that. We put a heavy pallet on to of the bag so that helps. Hopefully we will get a grain buggy. Thanks for watching
Is this the only time you feed the 16%? What do you feed on a daily routine?
Right now while the grass is green we don’t feed. We flush a month before breeding then a month before kidding we feed it. We feed a little while kids are nursing too.

@@BoisDArcKikos Thank you for the information. We are just getting started and really enjoy watching your channel.
Your welcome
Glad the videos help!
You have some beautiful does! Are they all 100% kikos, or do you keep crosses as well? What do you look for in a doe/doeling to keep in your herd?
Thank you. Most are 100% I have a few purebreds & commercial too. I look for mothering ability taking care of kids & milking ability. I look at frame & growth too.

What all is in that feed? My girls are looking a bit skinny and need that.
It has chopped up corn pressed oats silage. We get it at hardy farms in Durant Oklahoma. It’s a 16% protein.

Heads of corn and rolled oats. We also add black sunflower seeds to it ourselves

Where do you get your feed? I am in Texas but don’t see who sells in bulk.
I get it from Hardy Farms in Durant Oklahoma. Thanks for watching

Yea that would work too. Dry lot with good hay and feed will most definitely flush them before breeding. Thanks for watching

@@BoisDArcKikos thanks for posting. Always learning from you. Soon as I get out of the desert and back south, hope to raise a trip of goats.

On average, when one of your doe's produce only a single kid, is there a significant difference in growth rate vs one having twins or triplets?
Yes a big difference. Singles out weight all other kids
Watching the goats come up to get feed in a row is awesome, i bet it looks better in person!!!
Yes it does. Thanks for watching
You are doing real well , let's keep that weight going down
Thank you
Why not just get a 2 ton bin and have your feed store come to you?
That would be nice
Best channel on TH-cam....keep it bub 👍
Thank you. I appreciate that
Fine looking herd of goats!! 🐐🐐🦆😊
Thank you
